  • About me
like i said before, i was cheating.. i didn't want to spend my money to do the treatment at the salon, so i browsed and found out the hair mask recommended by my new hairdresser (i haven't mentioned that she was young! she was the same age as my sister, but she's married with 3 kids! wow..!). actually, i had another hair product that i wanted to buy, the pure resource shampoo, but since i thought the sunsilk one could still handle my oily scalp, i postponed it and bought the hair mask first.

it was a white cream in a pot *sigh* somehow, lately my products came in a pot. too big and not practical for travelling..but since school would be pretty hectic, i guessed travelling would be put on hold until graduation. okay.. about the hair mask. it smelled nice.. comforting.. another product with comforting scent in my collection.. a check in my list. hahhaa..

it said to be applied to half-dried hair, from root to tips, but since i had oily scalp, i only applied it on my hair shaft. i applied generously. and after waited a few minutes plus the massaging, i rinsed it. i could feel my hair silkier after using it instantly. and after my hair dried completely, it was tangled free, frizz free, shiny and smooth, like the product's label said. so, i guess it was worth my money.

but i read online, some said that this hair mask did nothing to their damaged hair. they prefer the other hair mask, the yellow one (i forgot the name).but since my hair was not heavily damaged, i tried the liss smooth, and it was enough for me. if i decided to buy the shampoo, i will tell you guys..
this was a pallette i purchased long time agooo.. when i was still pregnant with my son. i searched a lot at that time before deciding to give it a go. probably it was my pregnancy hormonal that drawn me into beauty back then, and i was soooo... obsessed with this palette. it had 4 eyeshadows in each palette, 2 lip glosses, and one blush. it was perfect. total 6 mini palettes. not too much eyeshadows (since i didn't wear eyeshadow much), and enough glosses and blushes. but unfortunately, it didn't have brushes with them, so though it was a compact palette for travelling, i still had to bring separate blushes. not practical.

okay, the pret-a-porter, like i said before, consisted with 6 mini palettes. each of them was marked with a colored string. there were purple, green, pink, brown, black, and blue. pink was for everyday color, and black was for smokey eye. the other were colour coordinated according to the string color. it was interesting and tempting to be match-matchy with your clothes! and i was color freaked! that's why i was soooo ..obsessed with this palette. you could arrange them into mini drawer, with one spare compact to put the palette for traveling at the back. it had mirror in it. each palette consisted of 6 eyeshadows, 2 lipgloss and a blush.

here's a closer look for each palette. on my arm swatch (from left to right): the blush, two eyeshadows from the top row (left to right), two eyeshadows from second row(left to right), and the glosses from left to right. unfortunately, sephora didn't give names to each color, so i had to describe it in words..
purples
purples: the blush was a soft matte pink, it was barely shown on my skin, but i guessed it was build able.. the eyeshadows consisted with dark and lighter color. the top row was a dark purple (almost black on my skin, but on my eyes it was dark purple), and a medium purple. the second row was a medium purple with glitter on it. the glitter was chunky and coarse, it was a mess.. it went everywhere! and the right bottom corner was the lightest purple. the gloss on the left was a berry fuchsia shade, while the right was a pearly soft pink. the berry fuchsia shown perfectly on my lips, but the pearly soft pink looked frosty and too pale for me.

greens
greens: the blush was a coral with soft gold glitters in it. it was a very, very soft glitter and blended easily. the eyeshadows were a dark moldy green with chunk glitter in it, a bright leafy green, a frosty light green (i had to swipe over and over to get it shown, but it still didn't show up well on my arm), and a golden brown one. the glosses were a bright red and a pinkish red. the red one was pretty bright on my lips!
pink: everyday colour
pink : though this was intended to be the everyday color, i reached browns more than this one though. the blush was a bright pink almost like a barbie pink blush. one swipe was enough. the eyeshadows were a taupe, dark brown, frosty beige and frosty pearl white. the gloss was a pink and a pink beige. the pink was a cool toned pink, almost like a barbie pink but softer, while the pink beige looked natural on my lips but paler than one from the brown palette.
browns
browns: if you took a closer look, you would see that i reached this one quite often. most of the shadows were powdery, sometimes it made the gloss messy.. like this one.. the swatches still like the previous one, but from the bottom to top. the blush was another coral blush but the glitter in it was chunkier. i guessed you could see it from the close-up swatch. the eyeshadows were matte dark brown, bright medium brown with glitter in it, a soft frosty lighter brown and a frosty brown beige (i didn't know how to call it..). the glosses were natural, a brighter pink and a softer one, both were like MLBB.
blues
blues: a matte orange blush. again, only one swipe was enough. the eyeshadows were a dark blue, a bright blue, a glittery turquoise, and a pearly white. the glosses were weird though. the first one was a brown gloss, and the second was a nude gloss, but it was lighter than the left one from the smokey eye palette.
black: smokey eyes
black : another pink barbie blush, but this one was brighter than the blush from everyday palette. the eyeshadows were matte black, black with chunky glitter, grey and pearly light grey. the glosses both were nude, but the right was more apricotty.

let's break down to product categories:
blush : i noticed there were 3 pinks and 3 corals/orange. the pink were soft matte (purple), brighter with some glitter on it (pink) and brightest (black). the corals were with soft glitter (green), chunky glitter (brown) and pure orange (blue). the only blush that were sheer was the soft matte one. but it was build able. the other only needed one swipe to get the job done. they lasted for 3-5 hours depending on the weather, on hot and humid days, it would vanish under 3 hours.
eyeshadows: most of the colors payoff really well, but the glitter on some were chunky, and it was a mess to my face and to the palette. the glitter flew everywhere. when i did the swap, the chunkier glitter felt coarse on my skin. the light color on pink, brown and green were very sheer and hardly shown when used. but i never used a primer, so probably the result would change if you wear a primer beforehand. the colors lasted pretty good hours, around 4 hours.
gloss: the brighter color payoff better than the softer one. it didn't make my lips dry, but it was a gloss. it disappeared after drinking or eating. without eating or drinking it would probably hold up around 2 hours. it transferred easily too.

sooo.. overall it was okay. but unfortunately, there were some colors i rarely used on daily basis. i loved their blushes though. but i hated the eyeshadows since they were messing with the gloss. but, i intended to finish them so i could get my nyx wanted list.
when i went to manila, my roommate was suggested by her boyfriend to start using anti-aging or night cream, since we were almost 30. since most of anti-aging or night cream were expensive, she decided to reach for drugstore products, and she chose olay total-effects night cream. and when i went home, i browsed totalbeaty.com and i stumbled upon their review about night cream. and olay was their top ten for drugstore products.

sooo.. when i was walking at the supermarket, i was searching for the olay night cream. at first, i was looking for olay age defying intensive nourishing night cream, but i couldn't find it here in indonesia. and the best i could find was the olay total effects night cream. i knew there was also the regenerist one, but i thought i still didn't need that much anti-aging cream.

about the product: it was in a pot, like my moisturizer, which was not hygienic. the cream was a basic white cream, but it had great smell. i loved it! it really soothed me after my long tiring day. and most importantly, though it said to be moisturizing, it didn't make my skin oilier. that's a plus sign for me. until i had more money to try the high end product, i would stick to this one.
lately i'm so into skincare.. probably since i was aware than i'm going to be 30s soon.. and i understood the importance of taking care of my skin since i wore makeup almost everyday. no matter how much you conceal and cover, if you didn't have a great skin to work with at first, no makeup will cover your flaws. i also aware that sometimes i didn't drink water as much as i needed to, and i dislike most veggies and fruits, soooo...they did affect my skin condition. plus the pollution and stress.. it did affect my skin condition. that's why, i was into skincare. i had written about my moisturizer, and now i just found out about face scrub. at first, i didn't really grab the idea of exfoliating routinely, but lately i found out that my acne scars didn't vanish as fast as they used to be. and i was bored covering them with concealer, so i learnt about exfoliation.

i first read about the body shop vitamin c face scrub that could help diminishing dark spots like acne scar and could be used for oily skin. but when i went to the counter, i asked about it, and he asked me some questions, what was my intention for exfoliation, and my skin types. i told him that i wanted to get rid of my acne scars and my skin was oily, and then he recommended the seaweed face scrub instead. he told me that the vit c might help brighten the dark spot, but in long term, it didn't help much with my oily skin, so the seaweed was the better choice.

i knew that i was supposed to use it once a week, but since i wanted to get rid of my scars quickly, i used it twice a week for 2 weeks, and then once a week. i must say that i was satisfy with the result. i could see that my scars was gone one by one. i thought i would stick to this one and didn't try anything else. it was a love at first sight.

i had to admit, i was easily bored. so that's why i easily attracted to pretty colors, and in this case, lipstick swatches. i was browsing the other day, when i stumbled upon maybelline color sensational lipstick swatches. for me, maybelline was always about mascara, and since i've tried max factor, i didn't have any excuse to go to maybelline counter. but after reading those reviews, i was tempted to buy some. but unfortunately, i still had my revlon colorburst lipsticks and revlon colorburst lip butters. i had to use them up at least 50% before i could buy another lipstick. but then, i was tempted everytime i browsed, so i headed to their counter. i read at total beauty about the coral lipstick that suit most skin tone, and it was "coral lustre". but at the counter, i was mistaken it with "coral crush". anyway, since my berry smoothie lip butter was nearly finished, i was looking for a pink lipstick, but not as bright as my sweet tart lip butter. and a coral one but not as orangey as tutti fruti lip butter.

so, i did a quick swatch and trial at the counter, since i was in a rush, hence i was mistakenly chose coral crush instead of coral lustre. and i picked pink petal for the pink lipstick.

coral crush was in the red family according to maybelline color scheme. you could see which family they belonged to judging by its body color. the packaging was a colored plastic cap, bigger than colorburst lipstick and lipbutter. it did have a smell, some said it was peppermint smell, but i couldn't decide what smell it is. it was pretty, just like any other classic lipstick, but when i tried to apply it directly from the bullet, the edge was too pointy for me, so sometimes it just lined my upper lips, and not swipe my upper lips throughly. when i swatched coral crush, it was a pretty coral, but on my lips, it turned out to be more red than coral. it was a bright reddish coral, but i liked it. it was not orangey like tutti frutti, and not a bold red lip, so i could wear it daily. and the finished was a little bit matte, so i might try to layer it with gloss next time.
this shade could hold up 3-4 hours, but easily faded to lip lines after eating or drinking, so be sure to bring it along if you went outside all day. many said that it was not drying, but for me, it was drier than my colorburst lipstick and lip butter, but not as drying as revlon superlustrous lipstick for me.

coral crush

while pink peony was a pretty pink in the bullet, with some glossy/glittery finished. but on my lips, it was MLBB and more shiny. it was okay, but it was not the pink that i had in my mind. but it was still a wearable lipstick for me. since pink peony was softer than coral crush, it disappeared from my lips around 2-3 hours, and with eating/drinking it would vanish quicker. for now, they would cover my need for now, but i've already had my eyes on nyx soft matte lip cream and nyx round lipstick. that's why i tried to use my lipstick everyday so i could buy them quickly. hopefully at christmas i could buy nyx all around from eyeliner, blush to lipstick.
