i bought this capsule recipe pack when i went to singapore years ago.. but i didn't get the chance to use it up until now.. well, i'm on sample-finishing streak.. so this one quite hidden in my stash so i decided to dig it and use it. oh, and since i'm 30 now, i think i need to be more aggressive in anti-aging treatment, so don't be surprised if there're a lot of anti-aging/firming products review here.

pic taken from lelong.com.my

this is the description from innisfreeworld.com: a pomegranate sleeping pack with oxygen bubbles to enhance the firmness of the skin. pomegranate helps retain elasticity of the skin. oxygen bubbles help absorb active ingredients. the enriched pack adheres to the skin to provide solution for skin concerns. bubble-foam sleeping pack.

when i bought this, i didn't know that this one is sleeping pack. i thought all the capsule recipe pack is a wash off mask.. but oh well, since i've already bought it i have to use it.

the packaging: just like the rest from the capsule recipe pack, it's packaged in a small tub with a cover that be slipped to a slit on the side for multiple usage. but i don't think the slit is useful. if you're not fitting it properly, the mask will dry out.

the smell: well, skinfood pome line has pome fragrant, and this one too. but i can't remember which one is better. all i can say that i can smell this one pretty well so it means the smell is very fragrant. so if you're sensitive to fragrant, you might want to skip this one.

the product: it's a pinkish creamy cream, a little bit sticky after applying it. okay.. this is the part when i admit of being stupid. i read the back and read the "bubble" part, and i'm hoping that it will bubble just like the bubble mask, but it doesn't. so i read for other reviews, and i found out that i have to spread an appropriate amount of the pack and then when it looks white (just like when i applied my sunscreen heavily), i have to press it with my palms to make it absorbed. the other blogger mentioned that she heard the popping sound when she pressed it, and that's the microbubbles sound popping.

the result: fyi, usually firming/anti-aging labelled product always pretty hydrating. sooo... this one too. it's quite hydrating. i can even feel a layer of moisture on top of my skin when i wash my face the next morning. but as for the firming effect, i can't say for sure. i've been using this every other day for almost two weeks now, usually on my acid day since acid can be drying. and i don't notice any difference. yet. it doesn't break me out luckily...

so, i don't think this one is suitable for oily skin since this one is pretty sticky (hydrating i mean..). after using this, my t-zone starts to become oily after a while. faster than when i'm not using this. and i don't like the sticky feeling when i touch my face at night. and that means no repurchasing for this one. if you're sensitive to fragrant, pass this. if you don't like sticky product, skip this. but if you love pome, and have dry skin or aging skin, try this one. after all, this one is quite economic, a pack for more than 7 usage for a cheap price. so choose for yourself.

this is a shade that i've wanted to try since it's interesting.. actually, this kind of colour is in trend lately as kylie jenner lip look alike.. but i think brink is closer to kylie jenner lip than this one though. this is another color created by a beauty youtuber, kathleen lights. according to the website, lumiere is described as a dusty mauve pink in a matte finish.

the packaging: just like the rest of the lippie stix, this one come in a pen-like tube that can be twisted to get the lipstick out. it has cap and the shade name and formula at the bottom. the lipstick has slanted tip to make the application easier.

the smell: like i've mentioned in my other post, probably this one also has faint vanilla scent.

the color payoff: this one is boom! one swipe and the color will be shown. it's mauvy pink alright, but slightly darker on me. i've seen this on medium skin and olive skintone, and it was pretty.. but on me, it's quite dark. wearable, but not as wearable as frida or brink. perhaps that's a downside for being fair.

the staying power: matte is slightly hold longer than satin. but it's still fading with eating and drinking. but i think it's average, 3-4 hours top.

well, i'm happy i finally can try this one.. but i was hoping it will look as good as the way i saw it on other people. not that dark.. but if you have medium or olive skintone or even darker, then try this one! this is a great color..

my baby is not getting any better and then our housemaid is sick too now.. i don't know how am i going to face next week. so i think what's better than to pamper myself now when i can do that? so i decided to use another mask sheet. after all, my skin need all the hydration since i'm using acid now. and being 30 isn't kidding.. it dries my skin a little bit. so i think i will use my mask sheet more often now.

according to etudehouse.com, pearl sheet mask contains pearl extract (hydrolyzed pearl) full of amino acids and minerals, brightening up dull skin for a bright and clear complexion.

the packaging: just like the other etude house i need you mask sheet series, the main ingredients is picture in front of the sachet.

the smell: i sniffed it when i opened it, and i'm sure that this one smells like wet tissue. yes, the alcoholic scent of wet tissue.

the product: this one is soaked pretty well in the essence, a little bit much since the essence spills out when i rip the sachet. the fit though.. i wonder why they don't have the same fit for each type.. afterall, they're from the same manufacturer, the same series.. this one has smaller eyes holes. probably like snail one, and of course, another dripping droopy upper lip part, which always comes down to annoy me when i sit using this mask. and this one has cooling effect too. too cool plus the alcoholic scent, i think it stings my eyes. i hate it. i don't want to waste my leisure time using this mask with lying on bed.. i want to blog, watch movie..

the result: i can only feel moisturizing effect. i think it doesn't give the instant brightening effect.

sooo.. definitely won't buy this one again. although i'm quite aware that this one might not give instant brightening effect, but i do hope that this one will help with my radiance problem. but i totally dislike the smell and sting problem.

this episode theme is about outdoor beauty. so you might get the idea mostly what this episode will discuss about .. yes .. it's about sunscreen. actually, i'm quite impressed with the sunscreen types that they presented there. i honestly have no idea that there's other sunscreen type other than suncream and sun spray. actually there are sun mousse, sunscreen tissue wipe and also sun stick. actually, there's a sun powder too .. but they do not discuss about it. if you're wondering the products they're discussing, the sun spray is skinfood premium tomato cool & dry sun spray, the mousse is hera sun mate cooling mousse, the wipes is md moms babysafe sunscreen towelettes, the stick is elizabeth arden eight hour cream targeted sun defense stick. i'm quite surprised that not all products presented in this show is korean brand.

and then move on to other interesting items. there are mask sheets for cleansing and stuff. the black one is quite confusing since mediheal has two mask sheets with similar design. but watching the show again, i'm sure that the one presented there is from mediheal carbon charcoal pore detox mask (fyi, the other one is the soda bubble one). ugh .. i really wish there's an onlineshop here that sells various mask sheets. i recently found out that there are cute and pretty mask sheets. okay .. back to the topic. the other one is for 3in1 stuff (toner, emulsion, cream), and it's from cleomee donkey real milk oil mask. actually, this is new for me. i never heard of the brand. but lately donkey oil and donkey milk are quite a trend in korea. last is the lip mask which is from pure smile choosy lip mask.

now move on to the makeup demonstration. i think the makeup demo is something new since it's about bronze goddess. you know that korean are all about that white and dewy skin, and i do not think they will never ever need and use bronzer. some brands are selling contouring item, but not bronzer. and the makeup demo never use bronzer. the makeup artist mixed contouring compact powder with foundation. the other thing that's different is he applied sunscreen again on top of the makeup. but only on the C zone since the C zone is believed to be the area that been hit by the sun a lot.

the sunscreen types mentioned in this episode
mask sheets mentioned in this episode

if you want to see the whole episode, you can watch it here:

this is the last piece from my skinfood premium tomato whitening sample kit that i had. actually, before i start using this sample kit, i had my eyes on the essence and the cream, and i want to try everything first before making any conclusion.

according to the description i found on momomango.com, skinfood's premium tomato whitening cream has divine skin brightening power. it contains 20% tomato extract and stabilized vitamin C derivative. this is a brightening cream that softens, mildly whitens and adds glow to the skin.

at the bottom you can see the the viscosity of the cream

the packaging: the full size product is a tube with a pump to dispose the cream. the sample also comes in tube, but without pump. you just have to squeeze the tube to get the cream out of the tube. looks like an eye cream. the color of the tube is pink just like the rest from this line.. soo prettyyy...

the smell: since it's been awhile since i used the other product from this line, i forgot how they smell, but this one smells nice. sweet and fresh. i don't know how to compare it with real life product. all i can say it smells nice.. not too overpowering so if you have sensitive nose like mine you will like it.

the product: although it's a cream, i can say that the consistency is slightly gel-lish. light and not thick like other creams. it's absorbed easily and doesn't leave any sticky feeling. but sometimes.. since i applied it only at nights and i did my blogging outside without air conditioner, the hot weather makes it slightly sticky. but it's okay.. not bothering me at all.

the result: well, the sample only lasts for 4-5 uses if you only use pea size. so i don't think it's enough to judge about the brightening effect. butttt... my husband said one morning after 3 days using this cream, that i look like a ghost. hahaa.. i only wore cc cream that time, so i guess my missha serum and this cream does make my face bright a bit.

overall, i do like this cream. it doesn't make me look greasy and oily in the morning and i think it helps brighten my skin but in combination with other actives. so i think for you who have oily and combination skin and want a night cream that has brightening properties, i think you have to try this one. but if you're more toward normal to dry skin, this cream might not for you. only just because this cream is not moisturizing enough for normal to dry skin. if you want the brightening properties, i think you should combine it with another cream. but if you think it's a waste of step, then find another cream that's thicker than this one. for me, if i want a change in my night regime, i will buy this cream and then on my dry skin days (due to acid.. i used acid now), i will just use a sleeping pack on top of this cream.

hi.. i'm sorry for not finishing the colourpop swatches as i promised.. the whole family is taking turn to fall sick. and i'm the last one and apparently causing my baby to fall sick again. what a devious cycle.. poor my baby.. she's fighting with cough and flu again in a week. hopefully she will be well again soon.

okay.. the other pink that i have is fetch. colourpop described it as perfect midtone warm true pink in a satin finish.

the packaging: just like the name, it comes in a stick. you can twist the upper body to get the lipstick out. they also have label at the bottom to show the shade name and formula. makes it easier to pick which one you want to use. oh, i never mentioned that since it weighs lighter than usual lipstick, the bullet itself is smaller so i think it's easier to use since the slanted tip fits the lip width perfectly, well.. for me..

the smell: i think all lippie stixs have faint vanilla scent, but i can't smell anything right now due to my stuffy nose.

the color payoff: uhm.. i've tried this a couple times. once, i only use one swipe. it was mid warm pink, pretty soft. but then on my second trial, i use a couple swipes, and i'm surprised. my swatch reveals that this one quite bright.. not neon pink, but almost neon.. slightly on the cooler side rather than warm on me, and it doesn't make me look yellow..

the formula: this one glides easily, almost like button. (oh.. silly me, just look again at button, and it's satin also.. that's why it feels similar..)

the staying power: definitely fades with eating and drinking and somewhat also sets into lines. and when i used this, i ate oily food, and it makes the lipstick bleed a little. well, i take a very good look in the mirror to notice the bleeding.. so i think no one will notice it from distance.

overall, i think i made a good choice picking up this color. another yay pink for me.. a pink that doesn't make me look yellow.. i think this one will suit almost anyone.

this episode theme is global beauty tool and photogenic makeup. actually, halfway watching this series i become a little bit bored.. although there are some interesting tips and products from this episode.

let's learn some tips from the makeup demo first. korean are fond with small face, so their photogenic makeup demo is about making your face to look smaller using contour. first you have to make sure you have flawless skin to start with, so make sure to exfoliate with toner first. and then prep your skin with lotion. the makeup artist suggests using it with brush since it doesn't stimulate the skin much. he gives example on how beautician on spas applies masks using brush and not their fingers. and then using brush to apply foundation. then you have to contour. the makeup artist boldly makes v line with dark foundation then blends it and then re-applies the earlier foundation on the border of the v line to blur the border. and then on the top of it dab a little blush on. don't forget to highlight too using liquid highlighter. and last.. to make your face even smaller, you can make fake hair using a zigzag brush to apply dark shadow. look at the video and you will see it.. new hair's growing instantly! hahaha.. korean really serious about small face..

and now let's talk about the interesting products...
since the makeup artist is someone from son&park, of course he will introduce his own product. so i think the exfoliating toner is the beauty water from son&park, and the foundation brush is skin fit foundation from son& park too. if i can get my hands on, i will choose to try the stick foundation.. but since it's hard to get rare items from korea, so i will keep dreaming..

if you want to watche the complete episode, you can watch it here:

having two kids, one toddler and one baby makes it almost impossible to put makeup on my face. but for the sake of my growing makeup vanity, i have to use them. and not to make everyone running afraid because of my dark eyes and swollen face. okay.. that's when the kids are not sleeping well, but those days are almost gone now.. probably just when they were sick. i have such a considerate baby.

okay.. back to makeup routine. i usually never do full face for everyday.. but since i had to use up my foundation, i decided to use full face makeup when i went to work. but since it's already expired, now i can rest my face for lighter base makeup. before going over my routine, let's check what's inside my makeup vanity first.

base makeup: now, i only have two bb creams, one is liquid bb from the body shop, i used half of it, so i'm confident i might be able to used up all of it. the other one is compact bb cushion from innisfree. i've used one side and i've flipped it over, so it will be over soon. and my new addition and new addiction too is cc cream from my beauty story. it's perfect for everyday since it conceals my redness but very light. i can still see my freckles. and then i have la girl pro conceal hd as my concealer.

eye makeup: i have one eyeshadow palette, revealed 1 from coastal scent. i love it.. it's perfect since it has a lot of colors but mostly are basic. very usable for everyday use. on eyeliner department, i have several pencil/gel liners, the gold one from nyx, the navy one from loreal, the black one from my beauty story and the two timer from nyx. basically i use almost all of them. which one i grab. but i rarely use the two timer since i don't have enough time to draw cat eyes using the felt tip. now move on to mascara. since i have no time to curl my lashes, i just hope that my mascara can help lift my eyelashes. right now i'm using my loreal butterfly mascara and i have etude house 3 step volume and curling mascara as spare.

blushes: i do love my nyx powder blushes, but since they require brush to apply, somehow i just them on leisure time or on special occasion. on daily basis i use lip & cheek cream blush from my beauty story. i just use it with my finger and then top it with powder to set.

lipstick: on lip department i have a lot... right now i'm having 8 colourpop lippie stix, 3 revlon, 2 maybelline, 2 nyx lip cream, 2 my beauty story lipstick, 1 revlon lip gloss, 1 my beauty story lip gloss, and several mac samples. ouch.. i have a lot to finish..

now let's move on to my routine: this is basically what i use daily and i have to use them quick.

i started with my cc cream and then cover my dark eyes and redness either with bb cream or with concealer. then i pat the cream blush on my cheek. and then i will dust powder all over my face to set the base. after that i will do my eye. i will pat one or two eye shadow, and if i have more time i will use eyeliner. if i don't have that much time, i will just use eyeliner or one eyeshadow on my eyelid. then swipe mascara. last, i will put on my lipstick and then i'm good to go.

on special occasion, i will do more on my eye or on my lips. usually i will use bold color for lipstick in gradation technique (my husband doesn't like me using bold lipstick), or just make cat eye. and then contour.

okay.. if i have time i will take picture of my step by step routine.. i will update here. i believe it won't take more than 10 minutes.

i'm so sorry for not completing my colourpop lippie stix swatches.. it's hard to take pictures nowadays, but i intend to finish it all soon.. hopefully the sun will shine brightly so i can take decent pictures.

okay.. so there are three pinks in my colourpop collection, westie, fetch and toucan. so far i have no luck in pink lipstick area. either it's too warm and make me look yellow or too blue that it makes me look sick. according to their website, westie is described as soft dusty baby pink in matte finish.

the packaging: it's in a pen form, that you can twist the upper body to reveal the lipstick. they color coordinated the upper body color with the label color at the bottom. they also put the shade name and formula at the bottom.. smart.. it's easier to pick when you store your lippie stix upside down.

the smell: i can pick a faint vanilla scent in all of the lippie stix.

the color payoff: this one is quite pale, so i need a couple swipes to get the color shown. it's not as creamy as the other lippie stix.. i don't know why. on me, it looks like baby blue pink. but not too blue to make me look sick.

the formula: this one not feel like creamy-turned-matte, i can feel this one become matte from the first swatch. i don't know what cause the difference..

the staying power: obviously gone with eating and drinking, and probably only hold for 3 to 4 hours top. somehow it fades into lines. but since it's quite pale, it doesn't show. but if you want to reapply, i think it's better to wipe the whole thing off first.

well, i can't say i like this one.. since it's pretty blue pink.. but i think it's okay.. not too blue, but not the "it" pink that i've been searching for.. if you're pretty pale, paler than me, probably it will look cool on you. on darker skin,hmmm.. i'm not sure. on medium skin it might wash you..especially on warmer skin tone.

hey everyone.. i've been slacking. somehow i'm easily feel exhausted and both my kids are unwell again *sigh* but i still have some products to be reviewed.. probably the makeup part won't be reviewed anytime soon since i have no time to take the picture.. but i will review some of my skincare products. actually, if you've been reading my blog, you'll know that in my wish list i put etude house wonder pore freshner or the face shop 9 in 1 toner in my wish list. but turn out i pick this one to buy in full size and none from my wish list. well, to be honest, after trying the etude house sample, i think the alcohol content is quite strong for me, so i decided to skip it. as for face shop, i have to pre order it, and by the time i've finished all my toner samples, i realize i don't have any toner left.. so this one is ready stock in one online shop and i buy it impulsively.

actually, in this 90% toners series there are 3 types, witch hazel, bulgrose and camomile. the bulg rose is for radiant and soft skin (i believe it's for moisturizing, a dupe for famous rose water), camomile for soothing, and witch hazel for sebum control and pore tightening.
this is the description from en.koreadepart: 3rd cleansing + skin booster + skin pacifier + pH balance controller. witch hazel 90% controls sebum and cares the pores. removes pore secretion and wastes. preserves water balance and makes skin firm. skin booster for next product usage. non gloss. paraben free, artificial dye free, alcohol free.
pic from jolse
the packaging: well, i guess korean like big sizes. this toner also comes in a big bottle, 210 ml! it's packaged in a plastic bottle with big colored label outside. the witch hazel has green label, while the bulgrose is pink and camomile is yellow. it has screw top and the hole inside to pour out the toner.

the smell: i can't pick any distinct scent, but it's a good thing right? sometimes i can smell something refreshing, but not alcohol scent.

the product: it's watery, looks exactly like water and the texture just looks like water. it's easy to absorb and doesn't leave sticky feeling.

the result: i agree about 3rd cleansing part, since i can see some makeup residue traces on the cotton pad that i used to swipe the toner on my face. i've been using this for about 2 months and i believe this one helps control my sebum too. but together with my power 10 vb effector, i think it's a little bit too strong and somehow my face slightly drier than usual after using this toner. but for pore tightening, i don't think it has any effect. but some said that it has effect on her pore and not on her sebum production. oh well, the result is different for each person, so i guess you might want to try it to see the result yourself. as for anti inflammatory, since three weeks ago i started incorporating aha into my skincare and somehow it breaks me out sometimes, but it doesn't last long. only a day or two in the inflammation period and then it will fade away and started in the scarring period.

well, i'm pretty glad i buy this one. it helps with the sebum production that i need in the morning and also have anti inflammatory properties to help me with this purging. and it also comes in big size, so it will last a loooonnnnggg timeee.. and have i told you that it's cheap? well, if you have combination-oily skin and have problems with sebum and pores and acne, i think you might want to try this one. it's alcohol free! and for dry skin, i don't think this one is for you..
