haple la luna anti aging serum

local brands have been upping their game lately. there are so many interesting products out there now. they used to launch makeup, but now their skincare products are quite interesting as well. i don't know where to start since every time i tried to catch up, some brands launch another bunch of more interesting stuff. so i guess my post will be full of local brands for some time. this time i'm trying haple anti aging serum. it was sold out when it's first launched, so i waited and then bought it and just got the chance to try it now. let's see how it goes.

this is the description from beningbersinar's page (i can't find this serum in their official website) (and i'll translate it to english as the description is in indonesian): with anti aging formulation that contains sea buckthorn, vitamin c, peptide and squalane as strong anti-oxidant, la luna serum also helps moisturize, hydrate, soften, and maintain skin elasticity and health, also helps fading aging signs, maintain skin suppleness, and make skin looks more youthful.
ingredients: aqua, glycerin, isohexadecane, hippophae rhamnoides (sea buckthorn) fruit oil, squalane, polyacrylamide, carica papaya (papaya) fruit extract, ananas sativus (pineapple) fruit extract, sodium PCA, phenoxyethanol, C13-14 isoparaffin, laureth-7, PEG-40 hydrogenated castor oil, ethyl ascorbic acid, sodium hyaluronate, tetrasodium EDTA, palmitoyl tripeptide-1, palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7.

the packaging: it comes in a dark blue box made from recycled paper with the moon and stars on it to maintain the night theme as they name the serum "la luna" which means the moon. they put information about star ingredients as well as a bit description in english at front. they also put indonesian's description on the side as well as ingredients list at the back. this comes in 30 ml which is standard size for serum. the bottle itself is a dark brown glass bottle covered with label that has similar design as the box and has dropper to dispense the product.

vegan friendly and they have a recycle program as well
the scent: this serum doesn't have added fragrance but since it contains several fruit extract, somehow it gives natural scent to the product. however, the scent is quite subtle so it doesn't bother me. i think it's still okay for those who are sensitive to fragrance or has sensitive skin.

how it looks like in the dropper
the product: i'm actually quite surprised when i try it the first time. when i read anti aging serum, obviously i thought it would be viscous like other anti aging serum. but this is a bright yellow serum and very runny. but not too runny that it drips from the dropper. it's easy to spread around and absorbed quite quickly. it doesn't leave any tacky feeling afterward. looking at the ingredients, it's packed with hydrating and moisturizing ingredients like glycerin, squalane, sodium PCA and sodium hyaluronate as well as some peptides. however, hit also contains some brightening ingredients like sea buckthorn, papaya and pineapple extract and also ethyl ascorbic acid. since it's quite runny i use half the dropper for my whole face and neck.

the result: let me tell you my expectation first. since i've been using retinol regularly, i need a hydrating serum and an anti-aging serum which is usually a all-rounder one. usually it would be thicker than my hydrating serum and it gives my skin more moisture as it tends to be heavier. however, with this serum, i have to switch the order since this one is runnier than my current hydrating serum. so i've been using this after the essence/retinol and before the hydrating serum. i can feel it adds hydration and moisture but just so-so. compared to my previous missha ampoule, that one is more moisturizing than this one. after being absorbed, it gives a bit tacky feeling and there's no slip at all. if i want to massage my skin, i will drag my skin. as for the brightening effect, at the moment i'm using other brightening products, so it would interfere the result.

i have to say that this is a all rounder serum that can be suitable for all skin types. but to call it an anti aging one is a big question. i don't think it's moisturizing enough to be called anti aging serum. even though it has peptides, i don't see any changes even after using it for a month. anyway, i don't say this doesn't work. it's just not for me i guess. but if you have combination to oily skin, you'd probably like this more than dry skin. as for me, i have other products in my stash to try, so i won't repurchasing for now.
