  • About me
honestly, i didn't research much before putting this into my shopping cart. i was interested because it comes in a rollerball shape, it contains retinol and it is cheap! i was curious whether it'll work or not considering the price. and i forgot to find out about it more until it was time to try it. and to my surprised, it wasn't a local brand that i thought before. this is actually a chinese brand and imported here. oh well, let's see how it goes.

this is the description from the website: since this eye serum is designed with a roll, the active vitamin A (retinol) serum and a variety of plant extracts can be better absorbed into the skin through the eye roller. therefore, breylee retinol serum can effectively reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and eye bags, thereby lifting and tightening the eye area.
ingredients: water, glycerin, betaine, polydimethylsiloxane, cyclopentasiloxane, polysiloxane 11, polyglycerol 10, hydrolyzed rice protein, plum apricot almond (sweet almond) seed extract, acetyl six peptide 8, hydroxyethyl acrylate/ acryloyl dimethyl taurate copolymer, yeast extract leuconostoc/radish root fermentation broth, chamomilla recutita (matricaria) flower extract, mallow (mallow) flower extract, lonicera japonica (honeysuckle) flower extract, paeonia lactiflora root extract, dandelion, rhizome extract, viola retinol palmitate (retinol), caprylic/capric triglyceride, fertility phenol, tocopheryl acetate, carbomer, sodium hyaluronate, xanthan gum, ethylhexyl glycerin, flavor

the packaging: it comes in a slim purple box that's tightly wrapped in plastic. it was hard to cut the plastic wrapping. the eye serum itself comes in a plastic-pen shape, with metallic roller ball covered in a metallic screw cap. the roller ball is metal so it feels cool when comes in contact with my skin. it comes in 15 ml size.

the scent: this one is scentless.
the pen
the product: since they use rollerball to dispense the product, it's hard to see the actual product. all i know that it's a transparent watery serum that glides on easily on my skin using the rollerball. it looks like it's absorbed quicker compared to the elsheskin eye serum, but when i use my eye massager, this one gives more slip than elsheskin eye serum. i can still glide my eye massager until 5 minutes without tugging my skin.

the result: i can feel this one is hydrating and moisturizing, though it's lightweight. compared to sulwhasoo and FSS, this one is obviously very lightweight. however, when i looked at their website, it looks shady. how come in two weeks it gives significant result? so, i decided to test it myself and use it every night for two weeks. looking at the progress pictures, it does help with dark under eyes and reduce puffiness (i've been sleeping late reading too much wattpad), but i can't say the same for wrinkles and fine lines.
this is an exact two weeks difference
you can see the dark eyes and puffiness reduced
i have to say it's surprising to see the result. it might not as astonishing as the result on the website, but i can say that the result is visible. with regular use, it might give better result. anyway, even though this one gives better result, i'd probably won't repurchase it again. this is just my personal preference. i don't like how the website might give wrong impression about the product. even though it works, the result displayed on the website might be deceiving to others, so i won't participate in fooling others as well. price wise, it's shockingly cheap.
i got a sample card of caudalie sample from buying stuff from sephora back then. i've used the other two sample from this card, and it's only one left. the moisturizer one. actually, i'm not hopeful about this one since i don't like the other two, but we'll see. anyway, since this is only a sample, i can give a first impression and not a full review one.

this is the description from their website: a refreshing fluid that offers all day long and shine free hydration. reduces imperfections (spots and blackheads), refines skin texture, leaving the skin hydrated, mattified and healthy looking.
benefits: 93% saw spots and blackheads reduced.
formula: vegan. sans PEGs, sans parfum synthetique, 96% natural origin ingredients, non comedogenic, non photosensitizing, dermatologist tested.
ingredients: aqua, butylene glycol, coco caprylate/caprate, vitis vinifera (grape) fruit water, silica, squalane, glycerin, tapioca starch, glyceryl stearate, isostearyl isostearate, palmitoyl grape seed extract, alcohol denat, acrylates/c10-30 alkyl acrylate crosspolymer, caprylyl glycol, xanthan gum, enantia chlorantha bark extract, pentylene glycol, potassium cetyl phytate, citric acid, pelargonium graveolens flower oil, sodium hydroide, sodium carboxymethyl beta glucan, mentha piperita (peppermint) oil, citral, cymbopogon citratus leaf oil, sodium benzoate, rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary) leaf oil, citronellol, maltodextrin, orthosiphon stamineus extract, potassium sorbate, lavandula hybrida oil, melissa offinalis leaf oil, oleanolic acid, geraniol, linalool, limonene.
the sample set
the packaging: it comes in a leaflet. at front you can see the picture of the full size products. at the back, there's a bit description of the main ingredients as well as a small card to see the result. the whole vinopure line is supposed to reduce oil on your skin, so you should see the result after following the whole steps. anyway, since i don't like to use the whole line consecutively, i don't try the result card. the moisturizer itself comes in a regular sample sachet, with the picture of the full size product at front. at the back, you can see a bit description in various language. the sample comes in 2 ml size, which is not a lot.
how it looks like inside
the scent: i don't pay much attention about the scent. but i do remember that it smells like a mix of lavender and peppermint scent. but it's very subtle.
the moisturizer sample
the description and ingredients list at the back
the product: it is a cream-colored emulsion type moisturizer. it's a bit runny than usual cream type moisturizer but slightly thicker than lotion type emulsion. it spreads around easily but it takes awhile to be absorbed. it gives satin finish. i use this in the morning and afternoon (it was really hot these days so i washed my face twice during the day) and the sample can be used three times.
how it looks like on my hand
after blended it
the result: at first, it seems mattifying on my skin, unfortunately, the weather has been crazy hot these days, so i feel the moisturizer melts on my skin. then it gets oily as usual. that's why i can clearly say that this one doesn't stand hot weather thus not mattifying. as for other promises, i can't say anything about it, since i haven't used it for so long. i think it's more moisturizing than hydrating. it feels a bit emollient rather than refreshing. i forgot to mention that i feel it's a bit burning hot on my face, probably because of the peppermint inside. anyway, this one contains lots of extract, so if you have sensitive skin, it might cause reaction since there are so many extracts in it.

i have to say this one might be okay for cold weather, but not for hot and humid weather. maybe it will suit normal to dry skin better than oily skin because i think it's more emollient rather than hydrating. the moisturizer that i use right now is more lightweight and hydrating compared to this one. i feel this one is a bit heavy considering this is targeted for oily skin. you can guess i don't like the moisturizer as well. but if you like caudalie and have the budget, then you should try it.
i bought this when esqa was having a sale. i thought i'll finish my essence powder quickly, but turned out i was wrong. it took quite awhile to finish the essence one. anyway, it's been quite some time since i used a loose powder, mainly because it's not that practical for traveling. but since i'm not going anywhere, trying one won't hurt anyone. let's see how this goes.

this is the description from their website: lightweight and easy to apply, our flawless micro setting powder will instantly blur your pores and fine lines perfectly! this is the perfect powder to set your makeup in place without looking cakey. you can easily use it to bake and highlight your under eye. our micro-fine powder will blend effortlessly into your skin creating a smooth and natural radiant effect, perfecting your look with a long lasting flawless complexion.
the box
ingredients list but it's covered
the packaging: it comes in a white box with gold stripe, there's no description on the box and there's ingredients list on the box but it's covered by the added sticker. the powder itself comes in a white plastic tub with gold screw cap. shade name is written on sticker label on the bottom part. there's a plastic separator inside so the puff is separated from the lower part. the lower part has mesh covered hole where the loose powder comes out from. i guess it's secure enough to bring it with you, but once you open the separator, it might be messy and powder will fly everywhere. i like how the plastic separator has a small part to help you lift it up so it's easier to lift the separator. there's no information on the box nor the pact about the weight of the product, but i read somewhere that the weight is 12 g.
shade name
the pact
the color: there are 4 shades available (one of them is translucent). mine is vanilla which is the lightest one. i think it falls on the cool shade. since it's not super pigmented, the shade is okay for me. i guess it might not cater all skin tones since there are only few shades.
how it looks inside
the mesh separator
the product: the pact has mirror on the inside of the lid and there's puff to apply the powder. the powder itself is a finely milled loose powder. you can use the puff or with brush, depend on your need, but i mostly use a brush to apply it.
i apply the powder on the right side
the result: for more coverage, i think puff is better. but if you want more natural result, then you can use brush. but it's harder to get even coverage using a brush. the oil control is okay, but i don't use makeup as long as i used to and i'm indoor mostly, so it might give different result on different condition. it does look flawless, but it might cling onto dry area.

if you prefer loose powder, then this might be a good option, as long as you have your shade. as for me, i think i won't go through the trouble with powder anymore. i'll just stick to compact powder from now on. the powder flies everywhere and the tub is quite bulky so it takes quite a lot of space in my vanity, so once i'm done with this one, i'll try their compact powder for next time.
i bought this on a wimp. aside from SNP bird nest eye patch, i never tried any SNP products before. they actually have two lines available at sociolla at that time, the pink one and the green one. the pink one is peptaronic lines, and i was a bit partial toward pink packaging, so i bought this one. later i found out this one has a strong fragrance, so i do hope i could get used to the scent or it will be a pain to finish it since this comes in big size. let's see how it goes.

the description from their website: introducing SNP prep peptaronic toner from a skin care line with gold combination of peptides that enhances skin vitality and hyaluronic acid that deeply moisturizes. with 6 kinds of peptides and a moisture barrier to keep skin hydrated, your skin will stay protected from irritation, stress, and other external stimuli.
oil & moisture coating formula: this toner provides a unique oil and moisture coating formula to embrace damaged skin. this moisturizing toner quickly absorbs and embraces rough and dry skin to create a moisture barrier wherever applied. contains hyaluronic acid's moisture into low viscosity and high moisturizing texture to maintain oil and moisture balance to keep your skin radiant and clear.
total care with 6 peptide complex: total care function from head to toe. this moisturizing toner is designed to absorb quickly and embraces rough and dry skin to create a moisture barrier for flawless looking skin. with 6 type of peptides, this cream revitalizes and invigorates skin to its natural glow.
- hexapeptide-11 : strengthen skin balancing
- hexapeptide-9 : improves firmness
- palmitoyl pentapeptide-4 : balances moisture
- palmitoyl tripeptide-1: strengthens skin texture
- tripeptide : reduces wrinkles
- copper tripeptide: improves nutrition
ingredients list: water, glycerin, propylene glycol, 1,2-hexanediol, PEG-60 hydrogenated castor oil, carbomer, arginine, hydroxyethylcelullose, ethylhexylglycerin, fragrance, disodium, pentylene glycol, xanthan gum, butylene glycol, sodium hyaluronate, sodium hyaluronate crosspolymer, polyglyceryl-10 laurate, hydrolyzed collagen, hydrolyzed hyaluronic acid, hyaluronic acid, caprylyl glycol, hydrolyzed sodium hyaluronate, palmitoyl pentapeptide-4, palmitoyl tripeptide-1, tripeptide-1, hexapeptide-9, hexapeptide-11, copper tripeptide-1
the box
description in korean
the packaging: it comes in white/pink box with description in korean and a bit in english. it also has the ingredients list printed on the box in english. however since i bought this through sociolla, they stick a tiny sticker label with indonesian description.  the bottle has similar design as the bottle. the label is also a combination of white and pink with a bit english description at front. the bottle itself is a see through pink plastic bottle with flip top. the opening is sealed so the product is secured. it comes in 320 ml which is quite big for a toner. but not as much as hatomugi that comes in 500 ml size. since the bottle is quite big, i transferred it to a clean bottle. i just hope it has pump head similar to etude's which is more convenient for a big size toner. the bottle is quite heavy so it's a bit troublesome to shake it upside down every time i want to use the toner. that's why i think a pump head is more suitable for a big size toner like this. anyway, they say that this has a unique oil and moisture mixture, so i thought it will have double layer thing, but it's not.
added sticker label in indonesian
ingredients list
the scent: oh geee... if you have sensitive nose or sensitive skin, you have to AVOID this. really. the scent is really strong. i think it's a very fragrance jasmine scent and it's strong. i have to hold my breath when i use this toner. i hope the scent won't be as strong as time goes by. update: after using this regularly, the scent started to dissipate a bit, but still noticeable.
the bottle
the flip top
the product: i thought the toner will be a bit viscous, but it's quite watery. it does have a bit body to it, but not much. i can still spray it to put it on my hand (the bottle that i use has a spray head). judging by the ingredients, it contains lots of peptides and several type of hyaluronic acid. it also contains glycerin, BG and castor oil. the fragrance is listed quite high, that's why the scent is quite strong.
seal on inside opening
the result: compared to my previous momopuri moist toner, this one is a bit more hydrating and moisturizing. it gives fuller sensation to my skin. but just slightly bit. it's not too rich for my skin. i guess you can layer it according to your need.
the toner on top of my hand
after patting it
i have no problem with this toner aside from the fragrance. i bought this on sale and it comes in big size, so it's very cheap. anyway, if you're looking for a perfect mix of hydration and moisture, then you should try this toner. especially if you like pink packaging, then this might look pretty on your vanity. but if you're sensitive to fragrance or avoid fragrance, definitely skip this one. as for me, though this is okay, i won't repurchase mainly because i have to keep my nose pinched during the first week of using this toner. i don't have problem with fragrance, but this one is just too strong. i think it'd be suitable for all skin type as it's not very rich. it's just give the perfect balance. not too watery but not too rich.
it's been so hot here lately, and my only last emulsion is a bit too rich for the weather. i got breakouts and it was quite severe thanks to the humid weather and face mask, so i decided to try this new moisturizer. lately, local brands have been quite fast in releasing new products that it's hard to catch up. there are lots of interesting stuff out there, but i only have one face, so i'll try what's interesting for me to replace what i've finished. since my last emulsion is too rich, i decided to put it back on the shelf and try this new moisturizer from elsheskin. they just released two moisturizers at the same time. one for oily/combination skin and the other for dry skin. the blue one is the hydro boost, and the pink one is the one for dry skin. i bought the hydro boost one as i needed something more lightweight. let's see how it goes.

this is the description from their website: hydra boost oil free moisturizer, breakout free oisturizer.
benefits: balancing sebum production on oily skin, reducing redness on acne skin, protecting, improving and strengthening skin barrier, soften skin, prevent pore blockage.
what's inside:
- ceramide for stronger skin barrier, to lock in the moisture
- beet root as anti aging property and antioxidant to fight free radicals
- cica to smoothens texture
- galactosyl salicylate for anti inflammation, treats acne skin and reduce bacteria because of acne
- glycerin moisturizes and balances sebum production
- zinc PCA reduces redness and treats irritation because of acne
- japanese knotweed visibly plumps the skin
- saccharide isomerate for long lasting hydration
- annona cherimola fruit extract calms sensitive skin
- aloe vera to moisturize
- niacinamide to brighten
the box
description and ingredients list
the packaging: it comes in quite an interesting blue box. it's tall and you can open it and lay it flat. perhaps they design it that way to accommodate people that want to recycle their boxes. there's description in english and indonesian and ingredients list in english on the box. when you open the box, you can see additional information on the inside. they don't put anything to seal the box so the whole packaging is completely recyclable. the moisturizer itself comes in a blue squeeze plastic tube with blue plastic cap to cover the pump head. it is pretty cute and the tube itself is quite slim. considering they use a pump to dispense the product, i think it's safe to bring this while traveling. it comes in 30 ml size which is a standard size for a moisturizer.
another infographic on the inside
the tube
the scent: this one is scentless, but i think i can pick up a bit foul smell because of the ingredients. i'm not someone that's against fragrance in skincare. though this might be good for sensitive skin, but for me, the subtle foul scent is quite off-putting at first. but after a few uses, the foul scent is gone.
pump head
the product: just as described, this is a white lightweight lotion type moisturizer. it's really lightweight and easy to spread around. it's even more lightweight than my hada labo alpha emulsion. it turns into watery traces when you spread it around.
how it looks like on my hand
the result: this is very lightweight so it is fast to absorbed. it doesn't feel tacky afterward either. it's more hydrating but still give enough moisture for my combination skin. combined with the FTE that i used, this helps with my troubled skin. i don't get new acne anymore and the one that's already on my face started to shrink in size, and not painfully inflammed anymore.
after blended it
i never switch products before, but i'm glad i decided to switch my previous emulsion with this one. this works really well with my skin condition right now and the weather. it's been scorchingly hot and this moisturizer is really suitable for hot weather. i have to say this is my best buy so far. i do recommend this moisturizer if you have oily skin or it's summer where you live right now. it's lightweight and really helps with acne. i'll repurchase this one if i ever face similar problem again.
since i tried out erha essence, somehow i wanted to try more local brand essence. i became addicted again to essence/FTE. one of local brand that i've been wanted to try for quite some time is the bath box. i don't know why i keep hesitating to buy their products. but when i see their centella FTE, i decided to give it a try. i was running out of my FTE, so it's the right timing as well. i tried to find information on this FTE, but there's not much information about it, so let's hope this one does well.

this is the description from their website: facial treatment essence contains more than 96% centella asiatica extract to help maintain skin moisture, reduce redness, reduce irritation, and calm the skin naturally.
ingredients: centella asiatica extract, 1,2-hexanediol, ethylhexylglycerin, phenoxyethanol.

the packaging: it comes in a cream box with description in both english and indonesian as well as the  ingredients list printed on the box. the box is quite simple, just like the rest of the box of other bath box products. the essence itself comes in a dark brown plastic bottle with flip top. it's quite interesting to see that they use flip top. usually FTE will come in a toner-like bottle and screw cap. actually i like the flip top better as it secures the product more and it's easier to dispense the product out because of the smaller hole size. i can just pour it like toner to my palm. the bottle is 100 ml, but it seems smaller than usual FTE bottle (usually they come in 150 ml but the difference is significant).
the box
description on it
the scent: this one is scentless but it doesn't have any foul scent, so i don't mind with it.
the bottle
flip top and the bottle opening
the product: this is a watery type essence. it's very lightweight just like water. erha FTE still has a bit body to it though it's still watery. the biobeautylab essence is the most viscous among these three. it looks like water since it's transparent and it feels like water. i like how this FTE doesn't have lots of ingredients. especially for sensitive skin, it will make you easier to notice which ingredient that cause reaction if there's any.
how it looks like on my hand
after patted it
the result: at first, my skin was in bad condition. this essence is very lightweight, thus very quick to be absorbed. at first, i don't feel anything after patting this essence to my skin. almost two days i don't feel any difference. even though i've used another layer. yes, i use two layers for my whole face and neck. then, as i keep using it, i start to feel the difference. i can feel it's hydrating, but compared to my previous erha FTE, this one feels less hydrating. however, this helps much with my acne. my skin faced its second serious acne breakouts this month. but somehow, after using this and other products regularly, the acne starts to reduce in size, the redness is also reduced. i don't get more acne as well. i have to say it's quite promising if you have troubled skin.

i have to say that for the first try, i'm satisfied with this FTE. if you have super oily skin or troubled skin, this FTE might help improving your skin condition. however, if you have dry skin, this FTE might not be the right choice for you. as for me, i'd put this in my list. if i ever suffered terrible breakouts again, i'd repurchase this.
