  • About me
ever since i found elsheskin moisturizer, i became excited in finding other local lightweight moisturizer. i've switched to emulsion for several years now for daytime moisturizer. but since i found elsheskin, i'm excited to try gel type moisturizer for daytime again. actually i wanted to buy the hyped studio tropik one, but it was sold out when i placed my order. but then, the next day, it was restocked! but i've already made my purchases and bought hale and true to skin one, so until i finished them, i'll have to postpone buying studio tropik one. anyway, i decided to crack open the hale one. it's been in the market for quite some time now but i never get around to try it. anyway, let's try it.

this is the description from their website: a gel-cream moisturizer that provides your skin with long lasting hydration. packed with antioxidants and anti inflammatory ingredients (niacinamide, vitamin e, ubiquinone, resveratrol, cocoa seed extract, green tea extract, centella asiatica extract), skin brightener (licorice root extract), anti aging (adenosine), and skin soother (allantoin). does not trigger malassezia folliculitis/ fungal acne. it effectively hydrates and soothes the skin, brightens the skin, calms acne, make skin feels smooth and plump. it's an all rounder: anti acne, brightening, soothing, anti aging, packed with antioxidants that protect against damage from blue light, gel texture - feels soothing on skin, easily spread and absorbed, suitable for all skin types especially combination/oily skin, no added fragrance, essentials oils, simple alcohol, paraben.
what's in it?

- brightening: niacinamide, licorice root extract
- antioxidants that protect from free radicals, and protect against the damage from blue light: ubiquinone, vitamin e, resveratrol, cocoa seed extract, green tea extract
- anti aging: adenosine
- skin-identical ingredient: glycerin
- soothing: allantoin, centella asiatica, licorice, green tea extract

ingrients list: water, glycerin, niacinamide, propanediol, 1,2-hexanediol, pentylene glycol, cyclopentasiloxane, glyceryl acrylate/ acrylic acid copolymer, cyclohexasiloxane, acrylates/c10-30 alkyl acrylate crosspolymer, hydroxyethyl acrylate/ sodium acryloyldimethyl taurate copolymer, tromethamine, adenosine, allantoin, ethylhexylglycerin, sodium phytate, ubiquinone, tocopheryl acetate, tocopherol, centella asiatica extract, resveratrol, butylene glycol, dextrin, theobroma cacao (cocoa) seed extract, glycyrrhiza glabra (licorice) root extract, camellia sinensis leaf extract, punica granatum fruit extract, mentha rotundifolia leaf extract, thymus vulgaris (thyme) leaf extract.
the box
description and ingredients list at the back
the packaging: it comes in a white/blue box with description at the back in both english and indonesian. there's also ingredients list at the back in english. the moisturizer itself comes in a white plastic rectangular tube with light blue screw cap with another short description at the back of the bottle. it comes in 40 g which is slightly more than usual moisturizer size (30ml). many people grunts at the packaging since the plastic is quite thick so they can't cut it to get the remaining product around the neck of the spout. and the rectangular shape makes it even harder for the product to go down the spout completely. since the bottle is not see through, i can't predict how much product is left.
sticker seal on top
the scent: this one is scentless but it doesn't smell weird. luckily my serum smells nice, or my routine will be boring. anyway, scentless means good thing for sensitive skin or those who's sensitive to scent.
the bottle
the spout to dispense the product
the product: the moisturizer is a cloudy white gel type moisturizer. it's thick compared to my previous elsheskin moisturizer. however, it's still spreadable. and after I spread it around, it melts. it takes a few minutes to be absorbed into the skin.
the product on my hand
after patted it in
the result: this one is definitely more moisturizing than my previous elsheskin, which is not surprising as this one is thicker in texture. however, it works well with my other skincare and it doesn't pill even thought being layered.

even though this one is targeted for combination to oily skin, i don't think it will work well when the weather is hot and humid. on rainy days, it's still okay for me, but on hot and humid days, i can see my face melts under the heat. you can guess that i still like the elsheskin more. this one might be more suitable for normal skin. as for the price, it's still affordable considering the size is a little bit more than usual moisturizer. i won't repurchase mainly because i have other moisturizer in mind that i want to try first. hale can be bought through their official channels or via sociolla and other online market.
dear me beauty launched their serums several months ago, but i never bought one because i was just bought sulwhasoo kits back then. but now when i finally finished them, i could try other serums, including dear me beauty ones. they had smaller and bigger size, so it's quite convenient. however, since i was late in the game, some smaller size were sold out already. but, i still prefer them compared to avoskin because avoskin ones were always sold out. how come you sell products that are only available at their launch dates? anyway, since i need moisturizing serum for night time, i decided to try their inoceramide serum first.

this is the description from the box: moisturizing skin-repairing serum for all skin types, especially for dry and sensitive skin, with encapsulated molecule and sustain released system to strengthen skin's natural moisture barrier.
made with active ingredients: 5% inoceramide, collagen, pomegranate extract, aloe vera. pH leveL:5,70-6,50. key benefits:
- strengthens the skin's natural moisture barrier
- improves skin texture and elasticity
- relieves signs of sensitivity and irritation
- delivers lasting hydration and helps lock in moisture
- restores and repairs damaged, dehydrated skin
- help protect the skin from daily pollutant
targets: dryness, dehydration, loss of firmness, damaged skin barrier, signs of aging.
recommended for: normal, oily, dry, combo, acne prone, sensitive skin.

description and ingredients list on the box
the packaging: all the serums come in white box with description in english at front and both sides, and ingredients list at the back. they seal the top part of the box with hologram sticker. they color coded the top of the box as well. red is for moisturizing one. they have other colors as well, as yellow, green, and purple. you can open the box completely just like elsheskin one so it's easier to stack for recycling. there's added description inside in english. the layout is really similar to elsheskin. the serum comes in lightbulb shape glass bottle with dropper to dispense the product. the label is the same color as the top of the box. they have smaller and bigger size, the smaller one is just 12 ml, while bigger ones are 32 ml, which are odds. usually full size serum is around 30 ml.
seal sticker on top
more description inside
the scent: i think it's scentless, but since my other skincare has added fragrance, i can't be sure about this one to be completely scentless. but if it does have any fragrance in it, then it must be very subtle.
the light bulb bottle
how it looks like inside the dropper
the product: i was surprised when i tried it for the first time. for a moisturizing serum, it's very runny. it's a milky white runny type serum. i use a full dropper sometimes two for my whole face and neck. the dropper is quite short so there's not much product per drop. since the serum is runny, it's easy to spread around and it doesn't take much time to be completely absorbed. looking at the ingredients list, it contains moisturizing ingredients like glycerin and ceramide. it also contains aloe vera extract and pomegranate extract.
how it looks like on my hand
after patted it in
the result: though it contains moisturizing ingredients, but when i use it, i feel it's really lightweight. i've tried other moisturizing that targeted as anti aging and most of them are richer than this serum. i don't have any problem with this serum as it's lightweight. i can use other serum or other skincare products on top of the serum without any problem. however, i don't think it'd be enough if i used a retinol serum. i might need something more aside from this one.

i have to say as a moisturizing serum, this one is really lightweight, thus i agree this is suitable for all skin types. however, if you have dry skin, you'd might need something else rather than rely on this one solely. as for me, i'd like to try their other serums as they have lots of serum variants. price wise, it's still affordable, just make sure to buy on sales to make it even cheaper if you want to buy in bulk. as this is a local brand, you can buy this from their official marketplaces or via sociolla and other online shops.
honestly, i have no idea about whitelab. i've seen it around in instagram, but i never interested in trying their products. mainly because the name is 'whitelab', as if it's promoting only whitening/brightening products. maybe at first, they were, but lately, they've came up with other products as well. as i've said in my other post, my skin was getting worse again, so i decided to try their acne calming serum. looking at the main ingredients, it should be good for acne. let's see how it goes.
the box
this is the description from their website (translated to english): acne skin condition often causes problem to a lot of people. unpleasant experience caused by it like mild skin irritation, redness, sensitive skin and itchiness sometimes reported by people with acnes. whitelab acne calming serum comes with a new upgraded formula, specifically formulated to treat oily prone skin, acne prone and comedones prone skin.
powerful ingredients:
- mugwort: from Jeju Island Korea, famous for its benefit to help reduce redness and irritation caused by acne.
- cica or centella asiatica: speeding up healing process and calming sensitive skin and redness.
- tea tree: anti-inflammatory properties that help soothe skin and help control oil production on the face.
- hexamidine: treat acneic skin without making it dry.
functions: treat acneic skin, reduce excess oil production, calm irritation/sensitive/inflammed skin, anti inflammatory, inhibit acne-causing bacteria growth, prevent acne, moisturize, brighten skin, promote skin smoothness and softness. lightweight texture and easy to absorb. can be used for all skin types.
description and ingredients list
the packaging: i believe all whitelab products come in white box. the design is the same for all products, but they put the name of the product at front, so make sure you read it correctly. there's description in indonesian at the back as well as the ingredients list. the serum itself comes in frosted bottle with dropper to dispense the product. the label on the bottle has similar design as the box. however, at a glance, it looks awfully similar to the ordinary. the serum only comes in 20 ml so the bottle is quite deceiving. it's just a bit smaller than 30 ml serum bottle.
the bottle
the scent: this one smells fragrant, floral, but i can't pinpoint what type. for me, the scent is calming and relaxing, not annoying at all. it does contain added fragrance as stated on the ingredients list, so if you're sensitive to scent, then skip it.
how it looks like inside the dropper
the product: it's a cloudy white serum. the consistency is in the middle. it's a bit viscous but not super thick since it uses dropper to dispense the product. it's easy to spread around and can be layered without any problem. the main ingredients in the product are mugwort and cica which are soothing and has anti inflammatory properties, tea tree that's well known for treating acne. it also contain niacinamide that helps regulate sebum production. however, it also contains other moisturizing and hydrating stuff like glycerin and sodium hyaluronate, so somehow it kinds of balance it.
how it looks like on my hand
after blended it
the result: once i spread it around, i can feel the added moisture. compared to my previous jumiso serum (which i think has similar ingredients with this one), this one is more moisturizing. however, for sebum control, jumiso one is better. as for brightening, i can see it helps fade acne scars, but it takes longer time to see the result. i think vitamin c or arbutin will work faster. as for acne treatment, i do think it helps soothe my skin. somehow i don't experience crazy breakouts when i use this serum (jumiso one too), but it doesn't prevent new acne from popping out completely. i still have acne here and there but not as crazy as before.

honestly, i'm quite surprise with the result. i never thought i'd like this one. however, since this one is more moisturizing, i might prefer jumiso one for hot and humid days, while on rainy season like these days, i might like this one better. this one is suitable for all skin type, but again, since it contains fragrance, make sure you're okay with it. as for me, this one is on my might repurchase list. price wise, it's still affordable and it's available at sociolla aside from their official website/ marketplace.
i still have hada labo refills, but i wanted to keep it for now. that's why i've been buying local brands face washes. local brands have been releasing new products here and there, it's hard to keep up with them. several months ago, they were releasing face washes, and i didn't want to jump in the wagon back then. but now that i need a replacement for my finished ones, i've been buying and trying them. for the last three face washes that i've tried, they were all in gel type, but this one comes in foam type.

this is the description from the website: meet skin by rosé, foaming face wash. the ultimate daily face AM to PM facial wash. foaming face wash gently and effectively washes away impurities (such as built-up oil, dirt, and pollutant) without over-drying or stripping skin of natural hydration. infused with hyaluronic acid, allantoin, rose water, and apple extract, this cleanser leaves your skin feeling clean, hydrated, calm, and fresh! say hello to a brighter and healthier complexion gang!
hyaluronic acid: hydrating skin and relieving dry skin.
allantoin: has soothing and anti-irritant properties.
rose water: helps with skin redness and improves skin elasticity.
apple extract: contains antioxidants, helps with healthier and brighter skin appearance.
ingredients list: water, cocamidopropyl betaine, lauryl glucoside, disodium laureth sulfosuccinate, butylene glycol, sodium chloride, PEG-60 hydrogenated castor oil, caprylyl glycol, 1,2-hexanediol, sodium hyaluronate, disodium EDTA, pyrus malus (apple) fruit extract, allantoin, rosa damascena flower water, phenoxyethanol, ethylhexylglycerin.

the box
the packaging: it comes in white/pink box with description at the back in english as well as the full ingredients list. they don't use any sticker or seal to seal the box. honestly i forgot did they seal the bottle? anyway, the face wash comes in transparent plastic bottle with holographic sticker label (can you see it looks like rainbow when being seen under the sunlight?) and pink pump head covered with pink plastic cap. you can adjust the amount of the face wash that you need by adjusting the pressure on the pump head. it comes in 110 ml, which is a bit weird, since usually face wash will come in 100ml.
description and ingredients list at the back
the scent: gee. i know that most brands now like competing to come up with fragrance free product, but trust me, sometimes added fragrance can add skintainment level. and unpleasant scent is not a nice experience. just like this one. this is scentless, but somehow there's something in the ingredients that makes it smell a bit unpleasant. like when you smell your clothes that's not fully dry under the sun. sometimes i hold my breath when i wash my face because i don't like it that much.
the bottle
the product: the foam holds its body nicely, though not as dense as hada labo. however, i think it bubbles up more when you rub it on your wash. i can use it with my foreo, and i think it bubbles up more when i was circling my foreo all over my face.
pump head
the result: okay, this is a bit weird. another usual result from non stripping face wash is you can sometimes feel a layer of moisture left behind. but not with this face wash. sometimes i. think it doesn't clean my face well. as if there's some oil left behind, especially when i use face oil the night before. sometimes i wash my face twice to make sure that my face is really clean.
how it looks like on my foreo
so, i guess you can predict i don't like this face wash. i usually not picky about face wash. as long as it doesn't strip my skin. but this one... there's a lot of mixed feelings, and it wasn't a good ones. definitely won't repurchase this one. maybe if you like RAD so much, and you have sensitive skin, you might want to try it. but considering there are lots of other face washes out there, just skip it. there are others that's better and cheaper.
i've been neglecting my blog. somehow i lost my spirit to write. especially when my skin condition got worse again awhile back. it was getting better, but then it got worse again. but i've been buying new stuff, especially serums, so i need to get back to writing reviews as i've got new products i've just opened, waiting to be reviewed. one of the thing that i tried to finish writing about is foreo mask. i've been using the mask again but not as regularly as i want to. so hoping that being forced to write the review got me using them again diligently. anyway, i've tried three variants, and this is the fourth one. it's from the newer line. let's see how it goes.

this is the description from their website: smart mask treatment for anti-aging. revive the youthful vitality of your complexion with his acai berry face mask, formulated with one of the world's most antioxidant-rich superfoods for ultra-smooth skin. pair with UFO or UFO mini to help reveal plump, younger-looking skin in minutes. a skin-smoothing fountain of youth. packed with antioxidants to help smooth the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. hydrates to plump, firm, and restore skin's youthful radiance. revives dull, fatigued skin, leaving you with a healthy glow.
key ingredients:
- acai berry from brazil : a powerful and potent source of antioxidants, this superberry is known for its wide array of health benefits, including an array of anti-aging properties. this unique 'fountain of youth' fruit offers the appearance of firmer, smoother skin and protection from harmful free-radicals.
- shea butter: ideal for dry, aging skin, this plant-based ingredient softens and smoothes the complexion with its rich texture by creating a barrier that seals in moisture for a long-lasting effect.

the packaging: while the old one has different background color for different type, the newer one all has white background. what differentiate between one another is the main ingredients pictured at front. for acai berry, well, it has acai berry picture at front (for me it looks like blueberry, but i don't know how acai berry looks like, so i might be wrong), and it gives purple vibe. there's a short description at the back of the box as well as the individual packaging in various language. there's ingredients list as well. you can't buy it individually. one box contains 6 masks. this type can be used with ufo and ufo mini.
the packaging
the scent: it does smell fragrant, but it's not too overwhelming. i don't mind with the scent. it dissipates as you keep on gliding it across your face. it does have added fragrance in the ingredients list.
description at the back
the product: the mask is a soft cotton mask which is smaller since it's specifically designed for foreo UFO. the essence is a milky type one. honestly, i'm not quite fond with milky essence as usually it's too rich for me, but so far i don't have problem with this one. as usual, the essence is very generous. i can use it for three cycles.
left: before
right: after
the result: this one is more on the moisturizing side. it does feel a bit tacky after i tapped the remaining essence. i usually skip my moisturizing serum when i use this mask and just topped it with moisturizer. i don't see any brightening or soothing effect.

if i have to say, this one is targeted for normal to dry skin as it's a bit rich and moisturizing. for me, i can still make it work by skipping a step in my routine. and i don't use it on consecutive days. however, my favorite is still the call it a night one. that one is the perfect mask for me. but i haven't tried all ufo masks, so i might find another favorite someday.
actually i wanted to try somethinc eye gel, but somehow i was hesitant about it. then elsheskin came out with this eye serum. somehow i was interested in it more so i bought this one. let's see how it goes.

this is the description in their website (translated it): eye serum eyessential night elsheskin is the best panda-eyes eye serum, the first eye serum in Indonesia with retinol. for you who have problem with wrinkles, dull and oily around eyes area, let's try the best eye treatment or eye serum from elsheskin.
benefits: brighten eyes area and fades dark circle, reduce puffiness, tighten area around eyes, reduces fine lines because of early aging, moisturizes so eyes look fresh.
main ingredients:
- apple steam cells polyphenols: maintain youthfulness on skin around eyes area
- read algae: maintain skin elasticity
- powerful vitamin c: brighten and promotes collagen production
- encapsulated retinol: lessen wrinkles effectively
- peptides: tighten eyes area maximally
- hyaluronic acid: moisturizes and gives plumping effect
- polyglutamic acid: helps fades hyperpigmentation

the packaging: it comes in red box with description in indonesian at the back and side of the box, as well as the ingredients list at the back of the box. the eye serum itself comes in a red doff plastic bottle with pump covered with the similar red doff cap. the pump has a tiny tip to dispense the eye serum. there's a bit description on it. it comes in 18 ml which is an odd size for an eye serum. the pump works well and you can adjust the amount of product by adjusting the amount of pressure you use to push the pump.
the box
description and ingredients list
the scent: this one is scentless and doesn't have weird scent from the ingredients.
the bottle
pump head
the product: it's a cloudy white gel type serum. it melts instantly when being spread around the eyes. i only use a pea size and it's plenty for one eye. it takes a minute or two to be absorbed. it seems watery after being spread around. however, when i use my xiaomi eye massager, this one dried out quicker than breylee, thus making it harder for the massager to glide on my skin easily without tugging the skin. so when i use the massager, i just press it on my skin and move it all around my eyes area.
how it looks like on my hand
after blended it
the result: i can feel it moisturizes my under eyes well. however, looking at the progress picture i was surprised though. it doesn't seem to help with puffiness and dark eye. anyway, it might take longer time to see the difference.
two weeks progress
honestly, i was surprised to see that it doesn't work as well as i hoped for. but it doesn't completely mean that it doesn't work. some product might take longer time for you to see the result. anyway, this still good for moisturizing your under eyes and in times, it will help reducing fine lines as well. as for the price, it's still reasonable. and they often have sales as well. one thing i might tell you about elsheskin is, they have this after-sales care, which to some might be annoying. i bought this through their official channel in marketplace, and after i received the good, in a week or two their after sales person would message me and ask me if i have problems with the product or not. and then if don't reply, they will message again after a month or two. i do get this method. they use extra measure to reach out to their customer. however, not all people might be comfortable with constant questioning, whether the customer like the product or not. so keep that in mind if you decided to buy from their official channel.
