  • About me
i bought this in an anti aging set with the multipeptide one that i've tried before. if you're interested to read my thoughts about it, then you can read it here. anyway, around the time that this serum was released, i remembered salmon DNA or salmon sperm (i forgot which one) got the hype as the new "it" thing in skincare. but it's very short-lived as no one talk about it anymore. anyway, i've tried the multipeptide one, so let's see how this one goes.

this is the description from their website: skin booster elixir from deep blue ocean, infused with 62% deep sea water, salmon DNA, pseudoalteromonas ferment extract, hydrolyzed marine collagen and pearl. promotes skin elasticity, revitalize uneven skin texture, boost collagen 1& 4 production, skin regeneration and restoring back your skin's glow.
ingredients list: sea water (62%), glycerin, water, methylpropanediol, 1,2-hexanediol, pseudoalteromonas ferment extract (antarctica), ammonium acryloyldimethyltaurate/ VP copolymer, butylene glycol, betaine, DNA (salmon), adenosine, xanthan gum, hydrolyzed marine collagen, phenoxyethanol, anthemis nobilis flower extract, ethylhexylglycerin, caprylyl glycol, carbomer, melia azadirachta leaf extract, potassium sorbate, melia azadirachta flower extract, amino esters-1, coccinia indica fruit extract, solanum melongena (eggplant) fruit extract, allantoin, caffeine, aloe barbadensis flower extract, sodium metabisulfite, curcuma longa (turmeric) root extract, ocimum basilicum (basil) flower/ leaf extract, ocimum sanctum leaf extract, biotin, tocopherol.
the bottle
the packaging: the serum doesn't come in a box. they just seal the bottle with plastic sealing. the serum comes in a glass bottle with dropper to dispense the product. though the bottle is orangey, but it's see through so you can see the remaining product inside and no, the serum isn't orange. the label has descriptions in english and indonesia as well as the ingredients list, but everything is printed in tiny fonts, so it might hurt your eyes if you tried to read it. anyway, somethinc is quite weird as all of their serums come in 20 ml size. yep. 20 ml. usually full size serum is around 30 ml or more.
description at the back
the scent: i was worried that this might smell salty or foul, but thankfully, no. it's scentless and it doesn't have weird scent because of the ingredients.
the dropper and the serum inside
the product: the serum is a gel type serum, a bit runnier than multipeptide one. i thought this one would be thicker, but i guess i was wrong as the multipeptide one is thicker. anyway, it's easy to spread around and doesn't leave tacky feeling afterward. it layers well with my other skincare products and it works okay for my foreo bear. judging from the ingredients, there are a lot of moisturizing agents and some soothing or brightening stuff. but mainly moisturizing ones.
how it looks like on my hand
the result: this one is definitely moisturizing, but compared to the peptide one, this one is lighter. the peptide one sometimes feels tacky afterward but this one doesn't. it's easier to absorb as well. however, aside from moisturizing, i don't see other effect though i've been using it for a month now.
after blended
i guess this one will be more suitable for all skin type as this is lighter than the peptide one. if you're looking for a lightweight moisturizing serum, then this might be a good option. as long as you don't have problem with salmon DNA. price wise it's still affordable and somethinc stuff is easily found almost everywhere, from their official website and marketplaces to other online stores. as for me, there are lots of new serums out there, so i'll still put this into consideration but i won't say that i'd repurchase this one for sure.
if you read my other post, then you'd know that i decided to try glowincpotion at last. i've been meaning to try them for awhile, but got forgotten since there were lots of new stuff to try. then i remember and bought the acnecore travel set and this one in full size. they have several lines, targeted for different purpose. but in each line, there are always 4 items in each line, the cleanser, toner, serum and moisturizer. i guess they made the brand to be beginner friendly or for someone who doesn't like complicated routine. anyway, let's see how this goes.

this is the description from their website: a gentle facial cleanser for daily basic skincare. helps to soothes the skin, strengthens the skin barrier and helps to reduce skin redness. formulated with propolis, triple ceramide, turmeric and aloe water.
benefits: cleanses the skin, soothes the skin, strengthens skin barrier, helps to reduce skin redness.
key ingredients:
- propolis : help calm skin blemishes
- triple ceramide: maintain skin barrier balance and strengthen skin barrier, helps prevent premature aging, reduce skin sensitivity
- turmeric: contains active compound - curcumin, which can help brighten skin complexion and disguises acne scars.
- aloe water: help reducing skin redness and moisturize the skin
ingredients list: aloe barbadensis leaf water, cocamidopropyl betaine, acrylates copolymer, sodium chloride, propylene glycol, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, cetyl alcohol, stearyl alcohol, potassium cocoyl glycinate, DMDM hydantoin, tocopheryl acetate, potassium hydroxide, curcuma longa (rhyzome) extract, potassium cocoate, tetrasodium EDTA, butyl hydroxy toluene, butylene glycol, chamomila recutita flower extract, sodium lauroyl lactylate, 1,2-hexanediol, phenoxyethanol, ceramide NP, ceramide AP, phytosphingosine, cholesterol, xanthan gum, carbomer, propolis extract, ceramide EOP.

the packaging: there's no box, so the cleanser only sealed with plastic sealing to make sure the safety of the product. all their products come in grey packaging, this one included. the cleanser comes in grey plastic squeeze tube with flip top. there's description at the back in indonesian and english as well as the ingredients list. it comes in 80ml. they put foil over the inside opening for double security. the label at front has color coded splashes, for the gentle+ lines, it is orange. i have to say that the color is awfully similar to the chroma line which is red. i do hope they will pick another color so it's more distinguishable. anyway, they put the number for the order, 1 for cleanser, 2 for toner, etc so it's easier for beginner to understand the order of the product to use.
the tube
the scent: i know that usually it will smell like the base. for the acnecore it smells like medicinal/sanitizing stuff. but for this one, i think it smells like a mix of aloe vera and green tea. i know i don't read any green tea in the ingredients list, but i do. the scent is quite noticeable though it isn't annoying or anything.
description at the back and ingredients list
the product: the cleanser is a cloudy white gel type cleanser that runs on the runny side. in fact, it's quite runny that it starts coming out of the opening without me squeezing the tube. i have to say with that consistency, i don't think putting it in a squeeze tube is a wise move. maybe they should use pump or other method. anyway, the cleanser produces low to none bubbles when being rubbed by hand manually, but it bubbles decently with my foreo.
the opening
the result: as promised, it cleanses my skin without making it dry or tight. it's gentle alright, but i don't know about soothing. as somehow i experience bad breakouts again and it doesn't seem to calm my raging acne. it still looks maddening red.
see how runny it is?
anyway, i think it's a decent face cleanser but i don't think i will repurchase as i don't quite like the scent and the texture. but if you're looking for a gentle face cleanser without fragrance and in affordable price point, then this one checks all the boxes. glowincpotion is not as widely available as its sister brand, somethinc. but you can find it from their official website or marketplaces as well as beautyhaul stores/marketplaces.
if there's a competition in releasing new products within short span of time, i bet somethinc will be the winner. after releasing 12 serums all at once, they release a whole collection of makeup and a calming toner and serum. then on new year, they announced their collaboration with NCT dream. slightly before or after that, they released a new addition to their moisturizer line, the supple power moisturizer. since i can't decide which one to try, i bought them both. let's see the supple one first.

this is the description from the website: 65% onsen hydra bank to provide 24hr deep moisture lock. 24 hr moisture lock moisturizer with 65% onsen sui water, total hydration with 9 hyaluronic acid and ceramide complex with skin-identical barrier components. to rejuvenate skin, increase collagen production, defy aging to keep skin healthy & supple all day. with lightweight texture and non-comedogenic, formulated for all skin type especially for dry and dull skin.
main ingredients:
- onsen sui (65% onsen belgium hot spring water): infused with the freshness of 65% onsen belgium hot spring water that is widely known for its ability to revitalize the skin, providing intense moisture that leaves skin smooth and moisturized.
- 9 types of hyaluronic acid: consists of 9 types of hyaluronic acid molecules that work in every layer of skin from the outermost to the innermost so as to effectively and maximally hydrate the skin.
- panthenol: it is also known as vitamin B5. it hydrates the skin optimally because it functions as a humectant which is a compound that can attract and retain moisture in the air into the skin. panthenol can coat the skin so that it keeps the skin smooth and soft.
- complex ceramides (NP/AP/EOP): the synergistic combination of 3 main ceramides: ceramide NP, ceramide AP, ceramide EOP can moisturize and strengthen skin barrier from free radicals.
- chondrus crispus (carrageenan) extract: contains polymer polysaccharide that can maintain hydration, relieve skin irritation, soothe and improve skin texture by reducing TEWL (trans epidermal water loss).
ingredients list: onsen sui, water, glycerin, propanediol, 1,2-hexanediol, caprylic/capric trigylceride, pentylene glycol, glyceryl acrylate/acrylic acid copolymer, panthenol, chondrus crispus extract, acrylates/c10-30 alkyl acrylate crosspolymer, sodium lauroyl lactylate, hydroxyethyl acrylate/sodium acryloyldimethyl taurate copolymer, saccharum officinarum (sugarcane) extract, tromethamine, caprylyl glycol, sodium hyaluronate, adenosine, allantoin, ehtylhexylglycerin, hyaluronic acid, ceramide NP, plumeria alba flower oil, sodium phytate, ceramide AP, phytospingosine, cholesterol, xanthan gum, hydrolyzed hyaluronic acid, carbomer, hydroxypropyltrimonium hyaluronate, hydrolyzed sodium hyaluronate, sodium acetylated hyaluronate, PEG-9 diglycidyl ether/sodium hyaluronate, potassium hyaluronate, ceramide EOP, tocopherol, dimethylsilanol hyaluronate, sodium benzoate.
the tube
the packaging: there are three sizes of this moisturizer, sample size in 15 ml, medium size in 25 ml and the full size in 50 ml. i bought the 25 ml one. it comes in a aqua plastic squeeze tube with pink screw cap. they seal the outer with plastic sealing and nothing else. there's description at the back of the tube in indonesian and english, as well as the ingredients list. but it will hurt your eyes if you tried to read the text as they printed it in tiny fonts. it has spout to dispense the product without being messy. i like how it comes in tube as it's practical and simple. but, the full size one comes in tub but it has this airless pump system that's pretty cool.
description and ingredients list at the back
the scent: i don't think it's scented and from the ingredients list you can see that there's no added scent to it. but i'm grateful that it doesn't smell weird even though it's scentless.
the spout to dispense the product
the product: it's cloudy white gel type moisturizer. but it's very runny, maybe in between true to skin and elsheskin. the elsheskin is runnier while the true to skin is a tad thicker. however, the gel will melt instantly once it comes in contact with the warmth of your skin and easy to spread around.
how it looks like on my hand
the result: as it's very watery, it takes a few minutes to be absorbed completely and it gives a bit glowy finish, but not super shiny. i can feel it adds hydration to my skin without being heavy. it doesn't give tacky finish as well. even though they say that this is targeted for dry and dull skin, i think this can be used by all skin type. in fact, i quite enjoy this one as it's quite lightweight while still giving hydration that my skin needs.
see the glowy finish?
definitely this one is one of my favorites since i've been trying gel moisturizer again. my top will still the elsheskin, but true to skin and this one comes close second. in fact, i can't pick one over the other. since this one comes in multiple sizes, you can try it first if you're wary about the difference with the ceramide one. price wise, it's still considered affordable, especially since somethinc often holds sales. you can get their products through their official website and marketplaces as well as numerous online shops.
i wasn't lying when i said it was hard to keep up with local brands nowadays. they would came up with new products and it would be numerous products launched at the same time. first it was avoskin with its yourskinbae promotion, then the dearmebeauty with its lightbulb serum, and now it's somethinc. they came up with 12 serums at once! and not forgetting they've just released different types of sunscreen just a month ago. gee... talking about bombarding us with new products. anyway, i found one that i'm interested at, and it's their new vitamin c. it contains ferulic as well, so without thinking twice, i bought it. so, considering they put "must refrigerate" label on it, i decided to try this one first. after all, i don't have any actives aside from my night moisturizer that contains vitamin c and vitamin a derivates. let's see how it goes.

this is the description from the website: inspired by glowing look of korean glass skin, this serum combines trio powerful brightening and antioxidant agents: vitamin C (EAA) & NAG & ferulic, which have a perfect synergistic effect to brighten up skin, also 67% jeju lemon extract water which is rich in antioxidants, hence it is effective to reduce dark spots, wrinkles and the appearance of fine lines. equipped with ethyl ascorbic acid (EAA) which has been clinically proven to be able to brighten skin in 4 weeks. get a fresh juicy glass skin effect like korean celebrities. to achieve a more effective result, always use sunscreen in the morning.
quick fact: fresh juicy glass skin effect, ethyl ascorbic acid is proven to brighten in 4 weeks, 67% jeju lemon extract rich in antioxidants, korean glass skin effect, vitamin c + ferulic acid synergistic effect to brighten, helps hydrate with hyaluronic acid, stimulates collagen production, nourish skin vitamin c (EAA) has the maximum effect in brightening, not recommended for seafood allergies, fungal acne friendly, dermatology tested, BPOM certified.
the full size and the sample size
key ingredients:
- vitamin C/ EAA : ethyl ascorbic acid is the most stable derivative of vitamin C (not easily oxidized). with high antioxidant properties, it can protect skin from the harmful sun rays and prevent hyperpigmentation, thereby helping to brighten up skin
- ferulic acid: ferulic acid is a natural antioxidant from plants (plant-based), known for its ability to fight free radicals as well as increasing the effectiveness of other antioxidants such as vitamin A, C, & E. ferulic acid combined with vitamin C (EAA) can boost the whitening effect because they work synergistically in inhibiting the production of melanin.
- n-acetyl glucosamine: it is part of natural moisturizing factor which is the main ingredient in the production of hyaluronic acid to strengthen and maintain skin elasticity. n-acetyl glucosamine provides skin protection against harmful UV rays, thereby preventing hyperpigmentation.
- citrus limon (lemon) fruit extract: lemon/citrus limon contains citric acid (about 7% to 10% citric acid) which is a type of AHA so it is widely used as a mild natural exfoliant and is a natural choice for skin lightening.
ingredients: citrus limon (lemon) fruit extract, glycerin, butylene glycol, 3-0-ethyl ascorbic acid, methylpropanediol, acetyl glucosamine, pentylene glycol, 1,2-hexanediol, ferulic acid, ammonium acrylyldimethyltaurate/ VP copolymer, caprylyl glycol, sodium hydroxide, xanthan gum, ethylhexylglycerin, sodium phytate, tocopherol.
close up on the sample size
the packaging: all somethinc serums don't come with a box. they all come with plastic sealing around the bottle. there are two sizes for this serum, the full size and the sample size. the full size one comes in a pitch-black glass bottle with white pump head. there's description in english and indonesian as well as the ingredients list at the back of the bottle. the full size one is 20 ml. while the sample size comes in a tiny dark grey plastic bottle with long white spout covered in white plastic screw cap. since the bottle is so tiny, they only managed to print the ingredients list at the back. the size of the sample size is 5 ml. the pump works well, but my only complaint is that since it's so pitch-black, it's hard to see the remaining product inside. i'd hate to find it empty and i haven't bought any back up yet.
the spout
the scent: this one is scentless but as like any other vitamin c serum, it smells a bit citrusy but it's very faint. unless you smell it up close, i don't think you can pick up any scent.
how it looks like on my hand
the product: this one is clear with a bit yellow tinge liquid. it's waterless, so it looks liquid but once you spread it around, it feels more like oil spread around. the instruction tells to use 4-5 drops but since it uses pump head now, i don't know how to convert it. for me, i use one to one and a half pump for my whole face and neck. from the ingredients, you can tell that the main ingredients are really the lemon extract and EAA, which if i remembered correctly, is slightly potent than the other vitamin c derivates. but what's interesting is, they add ferulic acid. i don't think i've ever seen other local brands combine ferulic acid with vitamin c, so i'm curious more about this combination. they also add other moisturizing ingredients such as glycerin, butylene glycol, and tocopherol. fyi, i put this in my refrigerator and up until i'm finished with it, the color doesn't change at all. which means this one is more stable than purito vitamin c serum that i also like (except that one is very quick to oxidize).
after blended it
the result: since i've been used to vitamin c serum, i don't feel any tingling sensation when i first use it. at first, i use it in the morning, but somehow it doesn't mix well with hale moisturizer as it makes my skin oilier than usual, so i switch it to the afternoon and it wasn't that bad. with the glowincpotion moisturizer, i continue using it in the afternoon as i find the moisturizer is more moisturizing than the hale one. i can see that my skintone is brightened and the acne scar slightly fading slowly. it doesn't work as fast as other vitamin c that i've tried before, but i can see it works well. i have to agree though, if you combine it with somethinc hylapore, you can get that glass skin effect. when i use that combination, my skin looks brighter and clear. though this doesn't get rid of my dark spots completely, but it clears up my complexion.
top left: beginning
bottom right: after two months
top left: starting point
bottom right: after two months
i have to say that at first i don't quite like as it tends to make my skin oily. but as i keep using it, especially when in combination with somethinc hylapore, it makes my complexion looks brighter and clearer. it helps with acne scars but it takes time. definitely put this in my rotation list if i ever run out of stuff to try. you can basically get somethinc products easily nowadays. through their official marketplace or website, or via several online shops. price wise, this is still considered affordable, though you have to keep in mind that this only comes in 20 ml size.
i bought this on my last trip to japan which was almost 3 years ago. this one is a dual one, a fiberwig and a tiny sniper. i'll discuss tiny sniper in other post, but for now let's talk about the fiberwig. if you haven't read my other post, i also tried their other mascara and i love it as well. it's called lash knockout, you can read it here. anyway, let's see about this one.

this is from their singapore's website: dramatic length, flawless beauty. paint-in false lashes lengthening type.
    - get lengthier lashes with additional coats: made with tip-extending film, a lush film liquid that's packed with fibers. with every coat, more fibers attach to the tips of lashes, offering infinite length.
    - give your lashes a longer and fuller look : creamy film solution coats lashes, complete with fibers. coat after coat, it won't clump and looks smooth and shiny. looks like your own lashes just grew longer.
    - no panda eyes, rinses off with warm water: repels sebum, perspiration, tears and smudge-proof, keeping 'panda eyes' at bay all day. for easy removal, rub off gently with warm water.
    - long styling brush, specially designed brush coats film solution and fibers from root to tip for added length while separating lashes.
    the packaging
the packaging: as i've told you earlier, i bought this in a dual packaging, which means i got two mascaras in a packaging. it comes inside a hard plastic cover that you can popped open and there are two mascaras inside. one of them is bigger, which is the fiberwig one and the other is the tiny sniper. both comes in red metallic plastic tube. for the fiberwig, it's chubby just like the lash knockout one.
    the back side
the color: i don't know how many colors it's supposed to be. when i see the japanese website, it comes in 3 or 4 colors, black, brown, blue and auburn. but in the singapore website, it only comes in black. well, mine is black.
    top: the fiberwig
    bottom: the tiny sniper
the product: the brush is a weird shape. it's curvy, fluffy and looked twisted at the end. this one contains fibers, so the tiny hairs that stick out from the brush is the fiber. it's quite wet so at first i swipe most of it before applying it. but i was wrong since i barely got anything on my lashes. then i started to reduce the amount that i swipe off from the brush and it works a bit better. then i use them all, only swipe the end to reduce the clump before putting it on my lashes. oh, since the brush is a bit fluffy, it's hard to use on my bottom eyelashes since my bottom eyelashes are very short.
    the brush
the result: this one is definitely lengthening thanks to the fibers. it's not so volumizing, but if you don't swipe much, then it will add a bit volume. anyway, i find a bit trick to apply this mascara. since it's wet, for me, it's easier to add the length when it's almost completely dried. i know, once it's completely dried, it's a bit hard to add more, so you have to be precise. if it's still wet, then the fibers won't stick somehow and it won't add any length to your eyelash.
    top: before
    bottom: after
overall, it's okay for a lengthening mascara. i don't try removing it with just warm water, so i can't say anything about it. i still remove it with cleansing oil first and the fiber is a bit weird. sometimes it will melt, but sometimes it will stick to my face and it's hard to remove once it's stuck. anyway, i don't have any problem with this, aside from messy tube since the formula is quite wet. it's been so long since i tried the lash knockout so i have forgotten about that one, so i can't decide which one i like better.
well, since i can't go to japan anymore, i started to shift all my skincare and makeup to local products. local brands have been releasing stuff like crazy that it's hard to keep up. though for makeup, aside from somethinc, there's not much release this year. i've bought this brow pencil since last year. i didn't think that my previous eyebrow pencil will last that long. anyway, let's see how it goes.

this is the description from their website: outline, fill, and build your eyebrows to perfection! our brow stroke pencil comes in a retractable ultra-slim pencil that will help you to outline and fill your eyebrows. the brow stroke pencil features a micro tip applicator for drawing a detailed, hair-like strokes easily. available in 5 shades with a super pigmented and blendable formula to make a fuller eyebrows. don't forget to use the spoolie and blend your brows to create a natural-looking finish.
    the box
the packaging: it comes in rose gold metalic box and you can see the shade name on the side. it's also printed on the body of the brow pencil as well. the pencil itself comes in a white plastic slim pen type with dual end, one with the eyebrow pencil, one with the spoolie. both of them are covered with white plastic cap so everything is secure even though you bring it with you everywhere.
    top: ingredients list
bottom: the pencil beside the box
the color: there are 5 shades to pick from, ash brown, chocolate, medium brown, dark brown, and grey. honestly i can't differentiate the browns, but the medium brown looks reddish compared to the other, so i pick that one since usually i dyed my hair to reddish brown shade.
    shade name
the product: the pencil is just like stated, ultra slim tip that's not too hard, not too soft. it's perfect to draw hair-like strokes easily like promised. however, the spoolie is too thin for my liking. but it's firm so it can brush my eyebrow easily. though i wish it's a bit fluffier.
    the spoolie
    the ultra slim tip pencil
the result: well, i've let my eyebrow grow so i don't need much correction anyway. so i only fill some blank spots and then draw the end and i'm good to go. as for the color, it doesn't look weird on me, so i guess it's acceptable.
how it looks like on my hand
    top: before
    bottom: after
well, i have no complaint for this eyebrow pencil aside form hoping they will make the spoolie a bit fluffier, but it's just a minor issue. i just hope they can give description about the color shade so at least i can guess what's the difference between the chocolate, dark brown, and medium brown. i'm not that fussy about brow pencil, so honestly i'm mostly okay with all eyebrow pencil that i've tried, this one included. however, i notice that this one might weigh less than the usual eyebrow pencil, so if you count the price per grams, then this might be a bit expensive. anyway, there are other eyebrow pencils in the market, so i think i'll just keep this one in mind if i ever run out of things to try. if you like ultra slim tip, then this might be a good option for you.
i can't believe i wrote this down before i even wrote my last liese hair bubble color. well, considering that i didn't like the last one and it wasn't available outside japan anyway, let's forget about that one. i might wrote about that later, if i had the will. anyway, i've been eyeing mise en scene for awhile, but i was confused as i couldn't find their color chart (at first), so i can't predict which one is lighter, which one is darker. and watching several youtube videos, i got even more confused as some people had dark hair but the color did nothing to them, but then, other people also had dark virgin hair, and the color showed up on them without using the primer/ bleach. oh well, i actually had 3 colors in mind to try, the famous khaki and dusty aside from metallic ash. but at the end, i bought metallic ash and dusty ash. i tried the metallic ash one first as this one caught my eyes more. let's see how it goes.

    metallic ash: popular ash lavender
    the box
the packaging: it comes in white box with the picture of one of Blackpink's member. Each box got a different member, according to the shade. for the metallic ash, it was Jisoo. at the top, you could see how the shade should look like and at the sides of the box, there are descriptions and color predictions on dark or light hair, the before and after picture. inside the box, there are one bottle and three sachets with numbers on it. there's a packet of plastic with leaflet, plastic gloves and plastic cape inside it. the leaflet is written in korean, but there are lots of reviews in the internet already, so you can find one easily to understand the instruction.
    description, instructions and color prediction
the color: when i bought it, i had no idea how bright it would be since i haven't found the color chart yet. but, when i saw watson website, i found out that metallic ash is quite bright. on their scale is about 6-7. but they suggested to use it on bleached hair. i don't like bleaching my hair, but i've dyed my hair couple times before, so the result will be on dyed hair (yep, this is my first time dying my hair again even before the root shows up. that's how bad i hate my previous color). fyi, on bleached hair, the purple/pink will showed up even more.
    everything inside the box
the bottle, sachet 1-2 (in white and black), sachet 3 (hair treatment), the plastic package has the gloves, cape and leaflet inside of it
the product: just like other bubble hair color, you have to mix all the sachets (aside from the color treatment, which has different sachet color) to the solution in the big bottle then swirl it around for about 20 times or so. don't shake it. then you put the pump head and start dying your hair. here's when i got confused. so far, when i dyed my hair, i washed my hair first then dyed it on the next day. but when i saw some reviews, some people recommended using it when your hair started to get oily. for me, that suggestion was weird, since my last hair color wasn't shown up clearly because i forgot and put hair oil treatment before i blowed my hair. hence, even though i've washed my hair, it's coated with oil and the color couldn't show up. so, this time, i still wash my hair and dye it on the next day. so my hair is still clean. another controversy: how to apply the bubble to your hair. some applied to lower half first for the first 10 minutes and then on the root to the middle for the rest of the time. but if you had dyed your hair, then they will dyed from the root to the end the whole time. as for me, i dyed it as usual, the whole length per area. i put it on for about 30 minutes. i used almost the whole bottle since i didn't know how bright it would be. for shoulder length, you can get away with just 3/4 of it. for longer hair, maybe you'll even need two bottles. oh i forgot to mention the scent. this one totally doesn't have signature hair dye scent. but for me, the scent is too fragrant. and the scent still lingers even after i wash it off.
    left: before
    right: after
the result: i have to say that it looks like reddish brown on me. especially under the sunlight and after a few washes, it appears lighter. i do like the color, though i was hoping i can see the purple hint. but no. i think you can only see the purple/pink hint if you bleached your hair.
    sunlight through the window
how it looks like on my hair
overall, i am satisfied with this one. though their color selections are way brighter than liese, but at least this one doesn't look weird on me. i do like this color so much that i started to think maybe i should try bleaching my hair with their primer. we'll see though.. price wise, it's as affordable as liese but here, it's easier to get them from marketplace rather than liese. so i'll probably purchase this one for now.
i know i might be late trying these light bulb serums, but better late than never, right? anyway, i want to try all of them, but it's impossible as i only have one face. but thankfully, they have sample sizes, which is just 12 ml. so, luckily i managed to get some in 12 ml sizes, one of them is the cica one. let's see how it goes.
    the box
this is translated from their catalogue: this is a powerful serum to treat sensitive skin (soothing and calming irritated skin) with natural ingredients from centella asiatica (cica) or known as daun pegagan that has lots of benefits for skin, such as:
    - calms irritated skin
    - helps reduce redness
    - helps with acne
    - gives maximum hydration
    - helps improve skin barrier function
    benefits:
    - helps reduce itch and irritation
    - helps reduce redness on face
    - calms dry and inflamed skin
    - helps to reduce acne
    - gives optimum hydration to the skin
    - increases skin moisture and improves skin barrier function
suitable for: irritated skin and redness, blemish skin, dry skin, dehydrated skin.
cica has been known as herbal plants that can be used to heal wound, calm redness and irritation. cica in this serum can gives moisture to skin as well as reduce transepidermal waterloss (TEWL) by strengthening or increasing skin barrier function.
ingredients list: water, propylene glycol, centella asiatica (leaf) extract, glycerin, propanediol, phenoxyethanol, aloe barbandensis (leaf) extract, dimethyl isosorbide, acrylates/ C10-30 alkyl acrylate crosspolymer, triethanolamine, citric acid, sodium benzoate, potassium sorbate, citrullus lanatus (watermelon) fruit extract, sodium citrate, soluble collagen.
description and ingredients on the box
the packaging: it comes in a white/red box combination. they color coded the box and packaging according to the type. if it's hydrating, it's red and white. for brightening it's orange. for retinol/bakuchiol, it's purple. yellow for exfoliating and green for peptide. so, for this cica, it's red. there's description on the sides and the back in english and indonesia as well as the ingredients list at the back. you can open the box until it's completely flat, probably for repurposing or recycling purpose. but they still the top of the box with hologram sticker. this kind of packaging is similar to to elsheskin one. it also has more description in the inside part. the sample size is 12 ml which is quite decent for a serum. while the full size on is 32 ml. the sample size is the miniature of the full size one. the serum comes in a transparent glass bottle that has light-bulb shape with dropper to dispense the serum. at first, i thought it was cute to have it shaped round like a light-bulb, but now i think it's annoying. it takes more space in my vanity and the dropper is quite short so it's hard to get the remaining serum if it's only a quarter left in the bottle.
    description inside box
the scent: i think it's scentless. considering that it has watermelon extract, i thought it would have watermelony scent, but nothing. so i guess it'll be okay for sensitive skin.
how it looks like on the dropper
the product: the serum is transparent runny liquid type serum. it totally looks like water. very quick to absorbed like water. it's absorbed within seconds and doesn't give sticky feeling afterward.
how it looks like on my hand
the result: it gives hydration alright, but not too much. i think if you use rich toner, then this serum might feels meh. it's very runny so if you have dry skin, i don't think it'll do much. as for soothing, it helps a bit, but if i have to judge, other cica serum or product that i've tried gives more clear result than this one. other than added hydration and a bit soothing, i don't feel anything else. it doesn't help reduce acne as well. i think the glowincpotion and the somethinc hydrapore works better in keeping acne at bay.
    after blended it around
honestly, i think i won't repurchase this one. it's not doing much to my skin. i think it'll be okay for combination skin or oily skin, but for dry skin, it won't do much. but, if you like the cute packaging and the simplicity of the product, then you can try it. the price is still reasonable for both the sample or full size. and even though it's sold out, somehow it's faster to get it restocked rather than the avoskin one. compared to the inoceramide one, i like the inoceramide one better as it gives a perfect balance of hydration and moisture. i still have the hyaluronic one in the same category, so i'll try that one first before taking any more conclusion.
