  • About me
ugh, i really need to be better in writing reviews and not let it backlog until this long. anyway, i've finished this shampoo and even another one before i got to write the review. i bought this because i've heard good news about the pair. fyi, i bought both the shampoo and conditioner travel set as i didn't want to commit to the full size yet. anyway, i bought this set when i was battling with hair loss ever since that unfortunate incident went i went to europe. so let's see how it goes.

this is the translated description from their marketplace: dancoly rosemary shampoo formulated specifically from natural ingredients that are effective to improve scalp's small circulation, increase the ability to penetrate hair follicle to give nutrition for scalp, restores hair cells and gives protein to strengthen hair root to prevent hair fall and also makes hair look healthy and fresh and glowing until the end. organic ingredients: rosemary leaf oil, ginger root extract, sage oil.

the packaging: i don't know how it should come, but since i bought this online, they only send both the shampoo and the conditioner separately. the bottles are identical, so make sure to read the label carefully. it comes in dark brown plastic bottle with small flip top at the top. since i don't have the bottle with me anymore, i'm not so sure about the description on the label. the travel size is 80 ml which is quite a lot for a travel size.
the bottle
the scent: i don't know how rosemary smells, but i think this one smells like essential oils, maybe rosemary and a mix of something else. at first, since the scent is not that familiar, it feels weird. but it's easy to get accustomed to the scent. and soon, i don't have any problem with it. the scent is not overpowering either. in fact, i thought it started to smell relaxing.
bottle opening
the product: the shampoo is a white runny type lotion. compared to the conditioner, this one is runnier. i can lather it easily to my hair and then it foams up rather richly.

how it looks like on my hand
the result: i know that this shampoo supposed to prevent hair falls, but i still have some hair shedding, but not that bad. in fact, after started using this shampoo, the amount of hair shedding reduced significantly. it doesn't prolong my in between washing days, but it doesn't make my hair limp easily either.

since i only used the travel size one, i can't say if the result is long-lasting. usually, my hair will be some sort of immune to the hair products that i use, especially if i kept using the same thing for a long period of time. if i'm not mistaken, the full size of this shampoo is around 400 ml which is sooo bigggg. i can't imagine how long it will take to finish the whole bottle. anyway, dancoly products are sold online via their resellers and sociolla. price wise, it's expensive, but not as expensive as the hair products from sephora. so yeah, maybe you want to try the travel size first before committing to the whole bottle. as for me, maybe i will go back to this one after i finish my current shampoo, but who knows?
i bought this one as a set with the shampoo in travel size. i usually never bought a set because that way it will be harder for me to decide which one is working. but what can i say? even though i tried not to use it at the same time, somehow both my hair mask and shampoo finished almost at the same time so i ended up using both the shampoo and conditioner at the same time. since i used the shampoo first, i can notice that the shampoo really helps with the hair shedding. so let's see how the conditioner does.

this is translated description from their marketplace: dancoly rosemary conditioner formulated specifically with natural ingredients that can nourish hair, makes it softer and shinier. rosemary extract in it also helps to strengthen hair.

the packaging: just like i've said in other post, even though i bought this in a set, there's no box whatsoever. i don't know if it's because i bought it online? well, it comes in dark brown plastic bottle with small plastic flip top. the top is quite small that it takes quite a while to get used to it. i was worried that i end up breaking the cap, but luckily until i finished it, the cap remained intact. both the shampoo and conditioner looks identical so make sure to read the label carefully. both comes in 80 ml so it's quite a lot for a travel size.
the bottle
the scent: the scent of the conditioner is similar to the shampoo, but not much different. again, both has relaxing scent that i grow to like as time passed.
the opening
the product: the conditioner is a white thick almost cream like texture. it's definitely thicker than the shampoo but still easy to rub and massaged into my hair.
how it looks like
the result: after rinsing it off, i can feel that it's moisturizing my hair without making it limp in between washes. however, it doesn't help much with the hair shedding. i notice that there's no difference whether i use this conditioner or not. the only difference was the softness. it makes my hair softer when i use it, which all conditioners can do in general.

so, if you're asking me, i think it's more reasonable to get just the shampoo instead of both. i can use other hair mask to substitute the conditioner. but if you like to use both, then do it. again, dancoly products are pricey so if you're not sure, perhaps try the travel size first before committing to the full size. as for me, i won't buy the conditioner again, but i might be repurchasing the shampoo.
the world is recovering and travelling is resumed. us, too. we've been going out and about again, so i need some travel sized skincare products. i like those that comes in set because usually they have stuff that i need, so i only need to add serum. i've heard about good stuff about blp skin as well, so i think it's a good think that i found this set. i've tried the toner and the serum so now let's talk about the gel.
the box
description at the back
this is the description from their website: experience the smooth gel-cream texture of tremella daily hydrating gel that hydrates and makes the skin feel supple. formulated with tremella fuciformis extract, this gel moisturizer can help you maintain a healthy skin barrier and elasticity. with marrubium vulgare extract, tremella gel can also minimize the appearance of pores, resulting in soft and smooth skin.
- hydrating effect: make the skin feel supple and preventing hydration loss.
- maintain skin barrier: create film-forming effect that locks moisture in the skin.
- dermatologically tested and non-irritant clinically proven: tried and tested scientifically for non irritants and suitable for all skin types.
the sticker seal
how they place the products inside
the packaging: it comes in a blue box with the outline picture of everything inside at front. at the back, there's a description of everything inside in indonesian. they seal the box with sticker. the moisturizer comes in the same blue box with another description at the back and sides of the box. talking about redundancy... oh well. there's ingredients list printed on the side of the box as well. the gel comes in a dusty blue plastic squeeze tube. the sample size comes in 15 g which is half the size of the usual full size moisturizer (but around a fifth of the full size version of this moisturizer). they seal the opening of the tube, and the seal is quite unique. it's a white plastic seal that i can pop back off and it keeps the product secured inside even after experiencing the cabin pressure.
everything inside
similar sticker seal on the moisturizer box
the scent: this has a subtle floral scent that's very mild and relaxing. i don't mind with the scent as it gives more pleasant memories every time i use this moisturizer.
the box
description and ingredients list on the box
the product: it's a milky white gel-type moisturizer. it's not too thick nor too runny. maybe similar to somethinc ceramide or true to skin mugwort moisturizer? it's lightweight and perfect for my morning routine. it's easy to spread around and it doesn't take long to be absorbed. it doesn't feel sticky afterward.
the tube
sorry for the blurry pic, but there's the plastic seal
and it looks like after the seal is off
the result: anyway, for hot and humid weather like singapore, this moisturizer alone is enough for me in the morning. however, that didn't apply when i was in finland or US. even though SF/vegas/LA wasn't as cold as finland, it was still cold and dry compared to the weather here (which is hot and humid) that's why after two days in SF, i decided to mix this with a facial oil and it works okay. no more problem after mixing it. and yes, i also mixed it with a facial oil when i was in finland.
how it looks like on my hand
after patting it
among the set, this might be my favorite or my second best (after the toner). it's lightweight and does its work. this is perfect for the weather here, especially in the morning for me. i think this moisturizer is suitable for all skin types, but clearly it won't be enough for dry skin type. the full size moisturizer is still affordable so if you're interested in this line, i suggest you try the toner or the moisturizer. as for me, since there are other moisturizers in my list to try, i won't repurchase this for now.
i ran out of vitamin c serum to try. the last brightening/antioxidant serum that i tried was not even a vitamin c serum. and i don't think i'd ever try another vitamin c-look alike anymore. anyway, i found innertrue and there are some of their products that i found interesting. however, let's try something that i need at the moment first. vitamin c serum. i realize that i'm getting older, hence my skin is changing as well. i notice that my skin responds well to peptide serum, so i'm interested to see whether the added peptide to the vitamin c serum would be beneficial for my skin.
the box
this is the description from their website: premium grade vitamin c of ethyl ascorbic acid for maximum stability and efficacy. Exceptionally-stable ethyl ascorbic acid and peptide for faster visible results. Brighten the skin and fight free radicals. Soften skin texture and regains skin elasticity. Fades dark spots and acne scars. Improves and treats skin barrier.
description and ingredients list
the packaging: it comes in a bright yellow box with the description in indonesian (and a bit in english) printed at the back and side, as well as the ingredients list. the serum itself comes in an opaque yellow glass bottle with white dropper to dispense the product. the body is quite opaque so i have to hold it against the sunlight to check how much the remaining product inside is left. the serum comes in 30 ml which is the regular size of a serum, but for local brands, this is more than usual. usually local brands only product 20 ml serum.
the bottle
the scent: there’s no specific scent to this serum. not even the acidic scent that vitamin c serum usually has. which is a good thing since i hate foul-scented product just for the sake of “fragrance free” tag.
how it looks like inside the dropper
the product: the serum is a transparent runny gel type serum. it glides on my skin easily. i use a dropper for my whole face and neck. i can easily pat it and it doesn't take long to be absorbed.
how it looks like on my hand
the result: i was right. this serum is moisturizing for sure. the moment i apply it to my face, i can feel the added moisture that it gives. even though they say that this one contains EAA, i don't feel any tingling whatsoever. however, the brightening effect is not so noticeable. it does help moisturizing my skin and evening my skin tone. but for fading acne scars? i don't think so.
after blending it
even though this serum doesn't fade my acne scars like i want it to be, but i'm quite content with how it makes my skin condition better. lately, i've been trying to find the right mix for my morning routine since i usually only use toner, vitamin c serum, moisturizer and sunscreen in the morning. somehow with me getting older, using both retinol and AHA/BHA on alternate days, make my skin drier than usual and nothing seems right. however, it changes after i started using this serum. this gives back the glow on my skin. i think this serum is suitable for all skin types, but probably it'll be more beneficial for those who has dry skin or aging skin since it has added peptide in it. as for me, definitely putting this in my repurchase list in case i'm running out of stuff to try. price wise? yeah, it's still affordable. availability wise? i think you can buy them from their official website or via sociolla.
i've heard about sunday riley for so long that i become excited when i saw that they've come up with some sets for the holiday. actually there's a complete set that has both the vitamin c serum and the retinol serum in one set, but it's already sold out. so i have to choose between the night set or the morning set. i decided to try the night set since it contains the retinol serum and the famous luna oil. anyway, the cleanser is quite famous as well, so let's see how it goes.
the box
this is the description from their website: gentle, plant-based cleanser pulls out impurities while pulling in clean hydration, for smaller-looking pores and a clean, radiant complexion. a blend of four gentle, plant-based soaps that lift up and wash away dirt and impurities without stripping the skin. french green clay pulls dirt, oil, pollution, and makeup out of the pores while rice oil esters protect the skin from dehydration. impurities are pulled out, clean hydration is pulled in. formulated as a universal, foaming cleanser for even the most sensitive skin, ceramic slip leaves all skin types softer, cleaner, balanced, and more radiant. extremely gentle, this deep cleaning cleanser can be used daily, morning and night, for a healthier-looking complexion.
how the box looks like without the sleeve
key ingredients:
- green clay, bentonite, and white kaolin: cleans pores without stripping the skin of its essential moisture.
- rice and olive oil esters: help to balance and soften sensitive skin for a healthier-looking complexion.

what's inside the set:
- ceramic slip clay cleanser
- pink drink firming resurfacing essence
- A+ high dose retinoid serum
- luna sleeping night oil
- good genes lactic acid treatment
- tidal brightening enzyme water cream
everything inside
the packaging: since i bought this in a set, it comes in a white box with magnetic clasp. there's a cardboard sleeve where you can see all the products inside pictured at front. there's descriptions of everything at the back as well as the ingredients list. the cleanser comes in silver/blue plastic squeeze tube with white flip top. there's another description at the back of the tube. it comes in 30 ml which is okay for a cleanser sample.
the cleanser tube
the scent: this one is unscented and it has a subtle clay-ish scent but it doesn't bother me. i just wish it has more relaxing scent.
description at the back
the product: it's a pale yellow lotion-like cleanser. it can pour out of the tube easily if i'm not being careful. anyway, i can use this cleanser with bare hands and with the foreo. this cleanser is low foaming so with hands, it's hard to make it foam much. unfortunately, even with foreo, it's not easy to make it foaming so sometimes if i use too little, the silicone bristles drag my skin since the cleanser doesn't coat all the bristles.
the aluminium seal on the opening
the result: anyway, even though there's a problem with it being low foaming, this one works okay. it cleanses well without drying my skin. but, there's this weird feeling that i get after i wash it off that i can't get rid of. it's not like there's some residue left on my skin, but there's something there.
the flip top
clearly that i'm not so fond of this cleanser, so i'm lucky to try it in sample size. there's no way i will spend a cleanser with that price tag. especially with that after feeling, i don't think it worths the money. anyway, even though i can't see why it was raved back then, maybe you'll like it, so probably buy a set to try it yourself. as for me, definitely won't repurchase nor try the full size.

i've tried beauty products from several brands and countries, so lately, i know that local brand eyebrow products are good enough without breaking bank. don't get me wrong.. japanese and american brands eyebrow products are good as well, but they might be pricey if i can't buy them myself. that's why, considering that i go through eyebrow products pretty quickly, it's more reasonable for me to just buy it locally. anyway, my preference lately is pretty simple, just eyebrow pencil and spoolie, so i'm looking for 2 in 1 eyebrow pencils. and somehow i'm stuck. but when i was walking through sociolla, i found jacquelle and considering i haven't tried anything from them, i decided to try it.
the box
description at the back
this is the description from their website: thinnest eyebrow pencil with 0.9 mm diameter. multiproof - long lasting, waterproof, smudgeproof, and sweatproof. blendable and waxy formula, 2-in-1 with spoolie. adjustable pigmentation, suitable to create thin hairy strokes. jacquelle slim brow is made with the best formula that guarantees a longer lasting brow makeup. its super thin tip and realistic pigment is designed to create a natural hair-like stroke on every flicks of your wrist. whatever you wear and whenever you are, your eyebrow will appear on fleek everyday! available in 3 shades: dark brown (rich brown), deep brown (true brown), ash brown (grey brown).
the eyebrow pencil and the box
the packaging: it comes in pink box with holographic strip on the side that has the picture of the eyebrow pencil on it. there are detailed pictures of the pencil, like how it would be like and what's the 2-in-1 for. at the back, there's additional description as well as the ingredients list. you can read the shade name on top of the box, which i forgot to take the picture.
the pencil end
the color: there are three shades to choose from, unfortunately, sociolla store didn't have all three in stock, so i can't compare it in reality. luckily, swatches online is quite reliable. i end up picking the deep brown as i saw it not too dark nor too reddish. and i'm right. it turns out just right. however, it's a bit darker compared to my previous secondate eyebrow pencil. but it's still okay.
the spoolie end
the product: the eyebrow pencil comes in pen shape, still in pink and silver color combination. since it's a 2-in-1, there are two ends, one with the pencil, one with the spoolie. the pencil is an automatic one so i don't need to sharpen it. the shape of the eyebrow pencil is not round, but a bit flat. i think it helps to draw hair-like strokes with that tip. and the consistency of the pencil is just right. not too soft and not too hard. the spoolie is not as bushy as i want it to be, but it's slightly more fluffier than the secondate. and it's not scratchy at all.
arm swatch
the result: the pencil is quite easy to use. i can draw hair-like strokes easily and it doesn't take long to draw my eyebrow with this. the color payoff is slightly more intense compared to secondate's, that's why i have to be careful not to give much pressure. it stays all day as well. well, as long as i don't rub it.
how it looks like on me
top: before; bottom: after
yeah sure, this is a good eyebrow pencil. but i don't feel wow-ed by it. that's why, even though this one works well and affordable as well, i don't think i'd repurchase this one. anyway, after buying this one, i end up buying several other eyebrow pencils that i intend to swatch for comparison. let's see whether i could find secondate's contender or not.

my skin condition is not as good as it used to be lately. i've been getting breakouts around my period time. that's why i'm searching hard for BHA to stop this madness. and then i stumbled upon this new local brands. they only have two products, an exfoliating serum and a moisturizing serum. i've tried their moisturizing serum and it's quite decent, so i guess the exfoliating one is worth to try. after all, i've heard good words about that one, so obviously i'm curious.
the box
this is the description from their website: ready to reset your skin in 28 days? babchi skin rejuvenating serum is thoughtfully formualted to rejuvenate your skin in 28 days. key ingredients: 2% bakuchiol and 2% salicylic acid with licorice root, red algae and 4 types of hyaluronic acid.
benefits: improves cell turnover, promotes collagen production, unclogs pores and treat acne, soothes and calms inflammation, brightens overall skin complexion, replenish lost moisture, improves hydration.
description and ingredients list on the box
the packaging: it comes in lavender/white combination box, with description and the ingredients list printed on the back and sides of the box. the design is completely the same as the lipid one. the only difference is just the color. it's light green for lipid and lavender for babchi. the serum comes in transparent block glass bottle with a dropper to dispense the product. the serum comes in 30 ml size which is a regular size for a serum.
the bottle
the scent: i don't think this is scented, but it has this acidic scent which is probably because of the ingredients of the serum.
the dropper
the product: the serum is lavender, which is in sync with the packaging and i have to say the color is so pretty. the serum is a runny type serum so it's easy to dispense with the dropper. since it's quite runny, it's easy to spread it around and it doesn't take long to be absorbed. this also layers well with my other skincare products.
how it looks like on my hand
the result: just as promised, this one is not drying for my skin. i can even feel that this is slightly moisturizing. however. i think i underestimated this serum for the first time since i overused it when i first try it. i use it every other day in rotation with retinol serum and sometimes twice a day. hence, my skin was acting out so i dialed down the usage to twice a week. three times a week tops. and it works okay that way.
after blending it
sadly to say, even though this one is quite gentle, it's not that gentle nor effective. i still get my hormonal acne breakout around my period. if i remembered correctly, the breakouts was less severe when i used another BHA serum than this one. however, i do agree that this one is a gentle exfoliating serum. so if you're a beginner and just starting to use BHA serum, then this is a good option to try. even though it's not widely available (i think you can only get them from their own shops), it's affordable so it won't break your wallet. as for me, i've bought another BHA serum to try after this one, so i probably won't repurchase this serum.

everyone would agree that this foundation was the talk of 2022. like everyone, every youtubers, every beauty influencers, talked about this foundation back then. obviously, i became curious. but at that time, mask is still mandatory here where i live, so i wasn't sure about replenishing my expired makeup stash. plus this foundation wasn't available here, the closest that i could get it from was from singapore. anyway, my husband went to singapore so i asked him to get the sample since i wasn't sure which shades to get, but he misread my message and bought it instantly! luckily, the shade is okay-ish for me, so pheww...
the box
description and ingredients list on the box
the description from their website: this innovative blend of makeup and skincare instantly blurs imperfections, smooths the look of textured skin, and helps conceal blemishes, dark spots, and redness. visibly improves skin's clarity ingredients that help defend against environmental aggressors and blue light, it immediately strengthens skin's barrier to help maintain its moisture. suitable for most skin types, including sensitive skin. medium, buildable coverage with a natural finish. breathable, all-day wear. 36 shades. vegan formula. non-acnegenic, won't clog pores.
gobi L3 - light with neutral undertones.
shade name on top
the bottle
the packaging: it comes in usual NARS black box with the big NARS text at front. there's description on the side and back of the box in english and french as well as the ingredients list. they put a sticker to indicate the shade code and name on top of the box. the foundation itself comes in transparent glass bottle with black plastic cap. there's a black pump to dispense the foundation, which is an upgrade since nars previous foundation didn't come with a pump. you have to buy the pump head separately. however, i think the pump is a bit faulty as mine started to wobble after a few use. it might get broken before i even finish the foundation at this rate. it comes in 30 ml which is the regular size of a foundation.
pump head
the shade: there are 32 shades to choose from, ranging from very light to very deep. however, if you look at the color chart, you can see that there's barely much difference on the medium shades. it seems to jump to the deepest one. mine is L3, which is a light with neutral undertones. NARS website provides instant matching as long as you agree to turn your camera on, and somehow, i always end up with punjab, which is too dark and too yellow in my opinion. anyway, even though i can get away with this shade, i think it's a tad too light. maybe i should try L4, deaville next time.
left: bare face
right: with foundation on
the product: the foundation is on the runny side so it's easy to spread around. i use one pump for my whole face and it's enough. anyway, even though it's runny, it's not as runny as my syca face tint, so obviously it has more coverage on first swipe.
left: bare face
right: with foundation (i don't know why it looks yellow here)
the result: again, with this one, i've tried several method. with brush, sponge, and even with a cushion puff. the brush, just like the skin tint, it leaves some streak marks, so i don't use brush if i have other options. i prefer sponge since it's easier and faster to blend the foundation with it, but the sponge absorbs too much foundation. as for the cushion puff, i think it's okay to blend with it, but maybe use other method first before blending it at the end with the puff. for the coverage, this one gives light to medium coverage. even though i think it's buildable, i usually only use one layer of foundation. however, it still won't cover my acne scars. it will cover the redness on my face and evens out my skin tone. i still need to use my concealer to cover my acne spots. as for longevity, i use this while i went to singapore and the weather at that time is quite various. it will be hot in the morning to afternoon and then pouring rain around 5 PM onwards. i use this in the morning and since it's still mandatory to use mask on public transportation, usually the area around my nose and the one that gets in touch with my mask vanish earlier. and then usually the area around my mouth and jaw next. but the area on my upper cheeks to my forehead will intact until 8 hours or so. at first, it gives satin finish, but then it gets oily easily when the weather is hot, so perhaps a mattifying primer will be needed if you have oily skin.
jaw check: the foundation seems to blend with my neck color well, doesn't it?
full face makeup: it looks decent, right?
i have to say that i'm not quite fond of this foundation. yeah sure, it looks great and okay for the first few hours after being applied. it looks natural, like second skin, but then, it gets oily and it vanishes after being in contact with my mask. it doesn't hold well under hot weather either, so i don't think it's suitable for the place where i live in. i've brought this with me to finland as well and i find it more long-wearing there, so if you live in cold weather, then it will work for you. honestly, since this is quite pricey, i suggest you ask for a sample first before committing to buy this. as for me, i don't think i'll repurchase as i have a long list of base products that i want to try next.
