  • About me
like i've said in my other posts, i've been looking for underrated local brand to try. there are a lot of interesting new local brands that i wanted to try, but i only have one face, so i have to pick which one that's might be suitable for my skin. call me weird, but i rarely buy one item from one brand. i would at least buy two each time i want to try a new brand. anyway, i found kitschy's design unusual but cute and luckily, i found at least two items that caught my eyes, so i decided to try kitschy first. the first item that i try first is the moisturizer, so let's see how it goes.

this is the description from their website: a light and never-sticky moisturizer that locks in moisture just like the clouds above. our fast absorbing and fuss-free formula gives your skin long-lasting hydration without tacky finish. what makes it special:
- snail secretion filtrate helps to repair skin damage and restore skin firmness, which can also enhance the appearance of acne-prone skin.
- packed with squalane, ceramide, and vitamin e to protect skin barrier from environmental damages
- fresh and airy - formulated for normal to oily skin.
the box
the packaging: it comes in a white/green box. i think they make the box from recycled materials. and the design is quite unique, a retro theme. there's descriptions as well as the main ingredients printed on the side and back. the moisturizer itself comes in a mint see-through glass bottle with pump head that's covered by a white plastic cap. it comes in 30 ml which is the usual size of a moisturizer. there's no description on the bottle aside from the brand name and product name.
the bottle
the scent: i don't think this has added fragrance, but thankfully it doesn't smell weird either. however, i notice a subtle hint of freshness which is slightly minty?
pump head
the product: it's a white thick gel type moisturizer. even though it's quite thick, it's easy to spread it around. but it won't melt into watery traces like other gel type moisturizer does. this is one is thicker compared to other gel moisturizers that i've tried, but not like dear me beauty that's still like a gel? this one feels like true to skin but slightly thicker? anyway, i don't think this one has cooling sensation, but a couple of times of using this, i feel slightly cooling sensation. but not alway, so i wonder, what might cause the cooling sensation? fyi, in the morning i combine this with vitamin c serum while in the afternoon, i use a brightening serum, so i don't know what kind of combination that might cause the cooling sensation because sometimes i notice it in the morning. then the other day, it's in the afternoon.
how it looks like on my hand
the result: this gives hydrating glow. this one is more moisturizing rather than hydrating, thus slightly heavier than what i used to use. but again, my skin is changing. it get dryer so this one gives enough moisture that my skin need. however, if i use another moisturizing sunscreen, this might turns slightly greasy.
after blending it
i have to say that this one is so-so. though it performs well, somehow my preference is still a more lightweight moisturizers. so the problem is me. anyway, if you have normal skin, then you might like this. oily skin, perhaps use a pea size or use lightweight sunscreen on top of this. dry skin might not feel this moisturizing enough for their skin. price wise, it's still affordable but personally, i like the one that comes in tubes. it's easier to use that way. and the glass bottle is heavy. not travel friendly. anyway, i like to try other moisturizer since skintific has just recently launched a new moisturizer. perhaps i'd try that one.
i've heard numerous times about this serum spray. a lot of people seem to like this serum spray, so obviously i want to try it. especially now that i feel my skin is drying, i think this might suit my skin better. but the price makes me cringe a bit. thankfully, they offer a smaller size so i bought the smaller size so at least it won't break my wallet if it doesn't suit me.

this is the description from their website: premium white truffles carefully extracted from piedmont, italy, infused with tocopherol (vitamin E) make d'alba's signature ingredient trufferol. full of antioxidants, white truffles are 6 times more effective than well-known propolis. certified vegan after meticulous texting by italian v-label, dermatologically tested, and hypoallergenic. it delivers a luxurious vegan experience that makeup artists and celebrities love. a 20M global bestseller with over 100.000 reviews on the official d'alba website. surfactant-free, the double layering of the serum and oil levels instantly moisturizes the skin with a refreshing, glowy finish. shake the serum and oil layer well before use.
- serum layer: italian white truffle extract, niacinamide, and chia seed extract for skin relief, elasticity, and glow.
- oil layer: avocado oil, sunflower seed oil, and other plant-based oils to lock in moisture and radiance.
convenient to use: the misting spray nozzle has easy application, allowing the spray serum to land pleasantly light on the skin. multifunctional: mist + serum + setting spray. it is suitable for every step of your skincare and makeup routine.

benefits: anti aging, improve moisture level, ultra-hydration, elasticity, light finish, antioxidant, all-in-one care, can be used before, during, after makeup whenever, wherever and anytime. spray-type container for convenient use.

the packaging: it comes in a white box with description in korean and ingredients list in english. but since i bought this here, there's a sticker with indonesian description on it. they seal the box with plastic. and then the serum spray comes in transparent plastic bottle with spray mist head that's covered by another transparent plastic cap. since it's transparent, you can see the two-layers serum from the outside. i'm quite surprised to see the oil layer is less than what i think it'd be. anyway, the smaller size is only 50 ml while the full size one is 100 ml.
the box
the scent: i can't be sure since several products in my routine are scented, but i think this one smells a bit fragrant but not too much.
the bottle (i completely forgot to take a picture when it's still full)
the product: the spray head mist works really well. compared to other mist that i have in my collection, this one sprays stronger and gives slightly bigger droplets compared to the other one. i could feel the droplets on my face like water being sprayed to my face. as instructed, i have to shake the bottle real well to mix the two layers before spraying it to my face. since the oil layer is yellow and the serum layer is transparent, i can see the yellowish mixture being formed when i shake it well. but i have to spray it as soon as possible so it won't be separated before i spray it to my face. anyway, whatever you do, don't let it go into your eyes. it hurts like hell when it hits my eyes.
how it looks like when it's mixed
the result: at first, i don't feel anything. then i think, i use it too little. this is a face mist so it's not supposed to be used as toner. but i did. anyway, i decided to spritz a whole lot more and it works. i started to feel the effect. it feels hydrating and moisturizing. it does feel more moisturizing compared to lumene face mist that feels just like water.
the spray head
if you have dry skin, then this is a good option to top up the hydration and moisture that your skin need. i think this might be suitable for all skin types, but don't use this as toner because you'll end up finishing this one faster than possible. it's another good thing that they sell smaller size so you can bring it in your purse or while you're travelling. price wise, the 50 ml is still affordable, but the full size one is quite pricey. however, i heard that if you buy this straight in korea, the price is quite affordable and it usually comes in 1+1 package deals. if you happen to be in korea, then buy them. as for me, it's enough to satisfy my curiosity but not enough for me to repurchase this.
some time ago, somethinc releases a lot of makeup products. one of them is a pencil eyeliner. they already have a liquid eyeliner with a felt tip, but there was a problem with it so they sort of, let it sold out and then improve the quality. they've just released the newer version, so if you're more of a liquid eyeliner gal, than you should buy that one. anyway, i bought this one because it has chocolate shade option even though it's been awhile since i use pencil eyeliner, so let's see how it goes.
the box
this is the description from their website: it's eye-mportant to be scandalous. with precised microtip to achieve a perfect line! intense pigmentation waterproof eyeliner in only one swab! worry not, it is formulated to be water-resistant, smudge-proof and long lasting! equipped with sharpener to do its job to sharpen this creamy gel liner. #YourOnlyLimit.
quick facts: micro tip to line and define easily, easy control grip and creamy glides, smudge-proof and water resistant, color choices for every occasion, suitable to draw in waterline, equipped with sharpener, dermatologically tested.
the pen
the packaging: it comes in brown/yellow box with the name of the product written at front and the shade name somewhere on the box. the eyeliner itself comes in a pen shape. it's brown with the same brown plastic cap as well. at the bottom, you can pull it off to reveal the sharpener. they printed the shade name near the bottom.
shade name
the color: there are three color options to pick, black, brown and gold. i pick brown because i'm kind of bored with black and black is too intense for daily, so i choose brown.
the tip that's already become blunt
the product: they say that it has micro-tip. but i doubt that it's micro. it's the usual tip that all pencil eyeliners have. again, since this is creamy, the pencil is quite soft so the tip gets blunt easily. and the sharpener.. since the pencil is so soft, the sharpener can't work well. that's why i keep it blunt since i don't bother sharpen it.
the sharpener bottom but it's quite useless
the result: i do have to agree that this one is creamy and easy to glide. it's not irritating even when i use it on my waterline. in fact, i only use this on my waterline because i can't sharpen the tip so i only use this on my waterline and use another liquid eyeliner to draw the end on my eyelash. anyway, since it's soft, i end up broke the tip when i try to sharpen it. and i didn't bother to try again afterward. no matter how hard i try to sharpen it, i can't seem to sharpen it to its original shape. anyway, it works well on my waterline, it doesn't smudge and it lasts almost all day as well. around 6-8 hours. i can't say about the water resistant though..
how it looks like on my hand
anyway, it's been awhile since i try a pencil eyeliner, so i kind of forget how it feels to use one. however, now i remember why i stop using a pencil eyeliner. i can't draw the extended end like a kitten eyeliner that i always do. that's why i decided to only use this on my waterline and it works fine. it looks natural and it stay all day. if you're a beginner and like a pencil eyeliner, then this is a good option for you. it's easy to use, it's pigmented and creamy and it's affordable and easy to get. as for me, i don't think i'll buy pencil eyeliner ever again. i'll just stick to liquid eyeliner from now on.
i felt stupid. back when i went to japan last time, i bought a love liner product. i thought it was a brown eyeliner. but recently, when i checked it out, i realize that i bought a brown mascara! oh crap. and i don't have anything else in my stash after i ditch my old eyeliner that's started to dry up. back then, i was interested in this eyeliner already, but i decided not to buy and now i regret it. i should've only bought japanese eyeliners because they're the best i've tried. anyway, uzu was not a new brand. i think it previously had a different name, but i can't remember what it was. they changed the name and then launched a whole new batch of colorful eyeliners. i was having a hard time picking which one to try. i was so tempted to try either grey or navy, but i settled for brown black.

this is the description from their website: crafted by hands. an innocation 1200 years in the maing, yamato takumi brush is created by traditional craftsmen from the kumano region of japan, who hand blend custom-made fibers to achieve the best for firmness, flexibility and softness. no more panda eyes. using the most advanced japanese water-proof technology, our WP film hybrid polymer maintains the perfect line alld ay against any water, sweat, humidity, tears and oil. the line you draw will lead to a new chapter. surpassing race, gender, age, everything... you can draw, paint and play. to maximize your freedom, we removed the frames and searched the potentials. we reinvented the functions, it's your turn to be unframed.
brown-black: softer than black, stronger than brown. brown-black creates compeling depth. comes off easily with warm water. ergonomic octagonal packaging designed for easy application. innovative dry-free formula won't stain the skin.
the packaging
the packaging: it comes with the usual japanese eyeliner packaging. but, instead of all plastic, the front is made from paper (maybe it's a recycled paper?) and plastic backing. you can rip the plastic to take out the eyeliner. there's description at the back in japanese as well as a small transparent window at the back so you can see the product from the back. the color of the packaging varies for each shades. for brown black, the paper is red.
the pen
the shades: there are 16 shades to select from, and it's not just regular options like brown and black, but also interesting colors like blue, maroon, white and beige. i pick brown black because i intend to use it daily, but i'm curious about their maroon or navy shade. ugh.. i wish i'm brave enough to use it.
the brush tip
the product: the eyeliner comes in octagonal pen shape. i don't know about the reason, but if they say it helps the grip, then they might be right. it helps to grip the eyeliner easier. it's dark brown pen with red accent. the tip is a brush tip, which is usual for japanese eyeliners. even though it's a brush tip, it's easy to use and control. i can draw thin and thick lines easily.
the brush tip is good for drawing thin and thick lines
the result: the color comes out opaque and if you let it dry, it won't budge. i stays all day as long as you don't rub your eyes. back when i was in singapore, i got drenched by rain, but the eyeliner stayed as long as i didn't rub my eyes. but it washes off easily with soap. although i always use cleansing oil to be safe.

again.. this one is great. almost all japanese eyeliners that i've used are great. i swear, i shouldn't have stopped buying them. however, this one is slightly pricey, so if you feel this is too expensive for an eyeliner, then you should find other eyeliners since there are other eyeliners as good as this one. as for me, i'd probably try this one in another shade. anyway, this eyeliner is good for anyone, even a beginner. so grab it if you want to try it. as for availability wise, i found this in singapore aside from japan, so you might want to check whether it's available in your country as well.
ever since my horrifying experience with hair loss since my europe trip, i decided to hunt for hair products and be more diligent in treating my hair. i browsed all anti-hairloss products that i can find and started to try them one by one. anyway, kerastase is one of the high-end brand in hair care, so i didn't want to buy them at first because it's so pricey. but i've heard good review about this brand, so obviously i want to try, especially if it works. anyway, i bought this one when it was on sale, so at least i save some money. at this point, my hair is not shedding like crazy, but i still experience normal shedding, so i want to minimize the shedding as much as i can. so let's see whether this works or not.

this is the description from their website: developed as a daily nutri-energising treatment against hair loss for men and women, this spray stimulates hair production while improving hair density and substance. it prevents against premature aging of the hair follicle and stimulates regrowth of the new stronger and more abundant hair fibers.
benefits: stimulates hair production, improves hair density, stimulates hair matter production, prevents against premature aging.

key ingredients:
- aminexil: to help prevent the premature aging of the hair follicle. anti-hairloss action, extends the lifecycle of hair.
- vitamin PP: to stimulate action optimising the blood of blood microcirculation of the scalp.
- arginine: amino acid, stimulates hair substance.
- gluco-lipid GL: a patented combination of energising glucose and a nourishing lipid.

the packaging: it comes in a silver box with short description in various languages at the back. the spray comes in opaque silver plastic bottle with spray pump head to dispense the product. the pump head is like a pointy spray head and it's covered with white cap. the cap also acts as a stopper, so it's quite unique. the serum is 200 ml, so it might seem to be a lot at first, but since it's meant to be used daily, it might not be that much.
the box with its multiple languages description
the scent: this one smells minty or something like that. i'm bad at describing scent, but all i can say that it's noticeable but not annoying. and since i use it directly on my scalp, i can't smell it once it's settled.
the bottle
the product: this is liquid and the spray works really well. it can spray until the last drop. i usually spray directly or close to my scalp, especially on the areas where my hair is thinning. i have to confess though. since this one is quite pricey, i don't use it every day. but i wash my hair every other day or on the third day, so it's basically almost every day. anyway, i've just found out that you should at least spray 10 times but i didn't know about it, so i spray as much as i think i'd need. how can i be sure that i've sprayed onto the right spots? well.. it gives cooling sensation at first so i know that it hit the right spot.
the pump spray head
the result: after spraying it, i rub it to my scalp to make sure that it spreads around. anyway, after using it regularly, i notice that this one is for maintenance. it doesn't help reducing the hair shedding, but it doesn't get worse either.
left: before
right: on my last day using the spray
yeah i know, it looks worse, but i don't use hair growth serum anymore, so it might make a difference.
anyway, i think this is a good serum to use for maintenance. but i notice that the amount of hair shedding depends on my scalp condition. if my scalp is too oily, somehow the shedding gets worse. this serum won't help at all. so i think i'll find something else after i'm done with it. however, if you just want to maintain your hair thickness, then this is a good option for you. price wise, it's expensive, so save up. or buy while it's on sale.

i had to idea what to see in finland. in terms of beauty world. the tour leader mentioned that there's local brand that's quite worth to see, which is lumene. he claimed that he recommended it to several people and they liked it, so i decided to take a look when i spotted them. i was surprised to see that they have quite a wide range of skincare range as well as makeup products. since i didn't have enough time to find out more about this brand, i decided not to buy any makeup. and i think carefully about the skincare items. finland is like 180 degrees in terms of weather with my hometown, so i have to think carefully. i have to pick items that might still be suitable to use back home. anyway, i decided to pick two items, their face mist and their day moisturizer. i've tried the moisturizer and i think it's still wearable back home, so i bought them both. i can't try the mist and they don't have the toner in this line that i can find, so the mist it is.

this is the description from their website: pure hydration in a flash! lumene nordic hydra pure arctic hydration spring water mist rehydrates the skin with a refreshing spritz of replenishing organic nordic birch sap, pure arctic spring water and plumping hyaluronic acid. this super-fine mist instantly boosts skin's hydration level and doesn't mess up your makeup. suitable for all skin types.

the packaging: i don't know whether lumene is a drugstore brand or not, but the price point is in between. anyway, the mist doesn't come in any box. it's just the bottle, sealed with plastic sealing. the bottle is bluish plastic bottle with mist spray head that's covered with transparent plastic cap. it's 50 ml and there's description at the back of the bottle in english and finnish.
the bottle
the scent: if you read the ingredients list on their website, there's added fragrance at the end of the list. that's why the mist smells fresh. like mountain fresh. you know.. when you're in the mountain and take a deep breath.. that's the kind of scent that i'm able to pick up. but it's not too overwhelming so i don't mind with the scent.
the description at the back
the product: it's transparent like water and it feels like water. the mist spray head really sprays a very fine mist that it feels very light on my face. yeah sure, this one is supposed to be a mist, but i use this as one of the toner. that's why i spritz it like crazy before adding d'alba mist on top of this one.
the mist spray head
the result: since this one is really fine, i have to spritz a lot of time to get the effect that i want. since this one is like a watery type toner, it's very lightweight and almost does nothing other than hydrating my skin for a bit. as a sole toner, this might not be enough. but again, this one is supposed to be used as a mist, so i guess it'd be okay for a hydration top-up.

i have to say that this one feels short. thinking that this is made in finland, i thought it would be super hydrating, but this one is really lightweight. it's quite tiring to spritz it like crazy, but luckily, it works well with my other toner, so i have no complaint. anyway, i won't go out my way to buy this one, but if you happen to be in finland, maybe try this brand but not this face mist. as for me, i won't repurchase this one. maybe other products, but not this one. price wise, it's quite expensive, but maybe it's because of the exchange rate. oh well. i never find this brand before so i'm not sure if you can buy this online as well, so maybe buy them if you happen to see it.
i've heard about this brand for quite some time, but i never got the chance to browse about their products properly, so i have no idea on what to buy from them. anyway, when i visited japan last time, i decided to just buy their face wash for starter.

this is the description from their website: gentle care with moist foam made from vegetable amino acid-based cleansing ingredients. contains vegetable amino-acid based cleansing ingredients that are less irritating to the skin. gently removes sebum and dirt without putting a burden on your skin.

ingredients list: water, DPG, sodium lauroyl methylalanine, PEG-400, sodium lauroyl aspartate, lauryl hydroxysultaine, polyglycerin-10, sodium hyaluronate, ceramide NG, glycine, cocoyl glutamate sodium, glyceryl laurate, lauryl betaine, PEG-2M, lauric acid, citric acid.

the packaging: this one is drugstore brand so there's no box whatsoever that comes with it. they only seal the pump head with plastic sealing. there's description at the back of the bottle in japanese. the bottle is rounded just like hada labo foaming wash. the only difference is, this one is pink. light pink. the pump head is exactly like the hada labo one. this one is 200 ml.
the bottle
the scent: i don't think this one is scented and luckily no foul scent either.
description at the back
the product: this one is a foaming face wash, so once it's pumped out of the bottle, it forms bubbly foam. the foam is similar to hada labo, which has some body in it and doesn't easily disperse. i can use it with my foreo as well as my hand.
the pump head
the result: after i wash it off, at first i feel my skin is slightly tightened and a bit dry. but after awhile, my skin starts to adjust and it feels normal as usual. in fact, lately i think it feels almost the same as hada labo. maybe only slightly less moisturizing? but one thing for sure, never open your eyes while you're using this or it will sting like hell.
how it looks like on my foreo
anyway, for a first try, this one feels okay. i'm not picky with my face wash, so this one pass my standard as a foaming face wash. however, it doesn't feel that special so if you don't feel like it, you can skip it. i think it'll be suitable for all skin type, though perhaps dry skin won't quite like it. but as long as you rehydrate your skin right afterward, i think it'll be fine. price wise, this one is still affordable. availability wise, aside from japan, i don't see this brand anywhere else. however, i think you might be able to buy it from online shops. as for me, i think i'll try their other products as well. wish me luck.
whenever i go to japan, there's like an unwritten rule that i should buy a lot of sunscreens because their sunscreens are the best. plus, they're crazy affordable. last time i went there, i knew there's this biore one that's became viral, so i had to try it. so i bought one. actually more, but i gave it away so other people can enjoy it as well.

this is the translated description on their website: 'smooth and snug' - it smoothly spreads on like water, and snugly adheres to your skin. it changes into a facial mask-like texture to provide protection. uv protection with a water-layer mask. it blends swiftly without a white cast. for translucence and glowing skin. moisturizes the skin for improved foundation wear. SPF 50+ PA++++. ultra waterproof (water resistance tested in water for 80 minutes). can be washed off with soap. formulated with moisturizing ingredients (hyaluronic acid, royal jelly extract, and glycerin).
the bottle
the packaging: this one comes in the usual packaging for japanese sunscreen. cardboard backing with description in japanese and then the bottle will be attached to the backing with some tape. they seal the bottle with plastic sealing but nothing else. this comes in 70 ml which is more than local brand sunscreen, but around the same amount of other japanese sunscreen in the market. the bottle itself is a cylindrical blue plastic bottle with screw cap. it's quite funny to see a round-ish bottle like this since usually it comes in flat bottle.
description at the back
the scent: this one has a scent, but i can't pinpoint what type it is. it doesn't smell citrusy like other sunscreens and i'm bad at describing scent, so i can't say more. it only smells when i freshly pour it on my hand and when i put it the first time, but it dissipates very quickly.
the spout
the product: this is a white runny lotion that's very liquid. runnier than any other sunscreen that i've tried. that's why it's a bit difficult to put the amount needed in one layer. i pour enough on my palm, not to spill anything and put it on my face and rub it before adding one more layer. i also squeeze some to my arms since i always use the same sunscreen for both my face, neck and arms.
top: look how runny it looks
bottom: a bit white cast that will eventually gone if i keep rubbing it
the result: this sunscreen takes a bit time to rub it before the white cast dies down. it turns white the first time i rub it all over my skin. and it goes a little bad for the first few seconds, but keep rubbing and then it will fade away. for me, it doesn't dry down to completely matte finish. maybe satin finish? but if i don't put any powder on top of my face, i can feel my face is a bit tacky. but not uncomfortable especially on hot and humid days. however, i think this one kind of vanish when i get too sweaty.

i have to say, since i live in hot and humid country, i like this sunscreen a lot. it's lightweight, it's easy to apply, it doesn't give white cast, at least for me. and it's very affordable, well, in japan, at least. so i've been buying it and gifting it to my close friends so they can enjoy the hype since it's not available here yet. if you're traveling to japan, i suggest you hoard this. and other sunscreen as well. as for me, i bought a lot of other sunscreens so it will take me awhile before running out of sunscreen.
i was looking for an all-rounder serum to bring while i'm travelling when i found the azarine daily defender. i became interested in this one because it has a combination of vitamin c, vitamin a and also lots of antioxidants and moisturizing agents. but i knew that the vit c and a won't be as potent as on its own, so i don't have high hopes for this one. but let's see how it goes.

this is the translated description from their website: daily serum with multivitamins to maintain skin health so it keeps bright, has strong skin barrier and moist. this serum contains high antioxidant so it can protect skin barrier from air pollution and blue light. this serum also helps slow down early aging (as anti-aging).
benefits:
- protect skin barrier from pollution and blue light
- nourishes with multivitamin for daily skin needs
- slows down early aging
- repairs damaged skin barrier
full ingredients: aqua, glycerin, butylene glycol, ectoin, resveratrol, chlorphenesin, allantoin, phenoxyethanol, tocopherol, niacinamide, panthenol, biotin, folic acid, ascorbic acid, retinyl palmitate, pyridoxine HCL, arachis hypogaea oil, xanthan gum
The box and description on it
the packaging: since this is part of their marvel collaboration, the box is red box with iron man in hologram print printed at front. there's description and ingredients list printed on the sides and back. the serum itself comes in red glass bottle with dropper to dispense the product. even though it looks opaque, but you can see the remaining product inside under the sun light. the serum is 20 ml as usual, like any other azarine serums size.
The bottle
the scent: this one is scentless and has no foul scent
How it looks like inside the dropper
the product: the serum is a milky white gel type serum that's quite runny so i can use the dropper to dispense the product. i use one whole dropper for my whole face and neck. it's easy to spread around since it's quite runny and once it's absorbed, it doesn't leave tacky feeling.
How it looks like
the result: i was well aware that this one is an all-rounder, which means, the actives won't be as potent as when it's the single ingredients in one serum. however, i do hope that it shows something. however, i can only feel that this one is slightly moisturizing and nothing else.
After blending it
well, i don't have high hopes in the first place, but i'm not prepared to be disappointed. i just hope that i could see something after using this serum consistently, but i see nothing. in fact, this serum wasn't even able to counteract the dryness when i was in finland and in the US. i had to buy another serum to add on top of this one while in US as my skin condition was worsen there. anyway, i think this serum is suitable for all skin types as this one is quite lightweight, but i suggest you pick another azarine serum if you wish to see visible result. their individual serums work better than this one. all azarine serums are affordable so it won't break your wallet if you're curious about this one. as for me, i won't repurchase, but i'd like to try other azarine serum as they've just released some interesting serums.
this one is a part of a set that i bought while in japan last year. when i was there, most of the products seemed uninteresting. but i felt it seemed sad not to buy anything while in japan, so i decided to try this set. d program is a brand under shiseido company so it should be okay, right? anyway, i've tried the toner so now it's time to try the emulsion.

this is the translated description on their website: target 3 signs of combination skin - visible pores, oiliness, dryness. for sensitive skin. helps reduce sebum and maintain hydration for balanced and shine-free, resilient, healthy-looking skin. uniquely formulated to soothe, restore, balance. shine-free moisturizer to help reduce sebum production while providing moisture for the dry skin area. restore skin's moisture and maintains moist skin for 8 hours long. with shiseido's propriety H-stabilizing A that promotes moisture retention and reinforces skin barrier function. smooth airy milk formula that spreads without stickiness and retains moisture.
the pouch
the packaging: since i bought this in a set, it comes in a white plastic pouch with big transparent window at front so you can see the products inside. there's description at the back in japanese as usual. the bottle is identical to the toner one, except this one is shorter. it is a light blue plastic bottle with a spout to dispense the product. the spout is covered by a white plastic screw cap. it is 11 ml which is an odd size for an emulsion sample.
description at the back
the scent: since the emulsion is long gone by now, honestly i kind of forget whether this one is scented or not. but even if it is scented, then it's either has a pleasant scent, or it's scentless.
the bottle
the product: it's a white emulsion. there's a gel consistency into it and it's slightly thicker than kose emulsion, but still runny enough to squirt it out using the spout. it's easy to spread it around and it layers well with my other skincare products.
how it looks like on my hand
the result: even though this one is slightly thicker than kose one, somehow this feels eerily similar to kose emulsion. somehow it brings back the memories of enjoying that emulsion. i have to agree that this one balances the oil and hydration level in my skin. it also helps reducing the sebum production while maintaining the skin moisture level.
after blending it
i have to say that i quite like this set. both the toner and emulsion works really well. it gives the perfect balance of hydration and moisture. somehow it reminds me of kose travel set. if i have to be nitpicking, i'd say i'd rather pick the emulsion than the toner. however, full size one is quite pricey. i don't think i'll be willing to spend that kind of money for an emulsion. but i won't put it on WNR list yet. anyway, if you have combination or oily skin, i think this one is suitable for you. but it doesn't mean that other skin types can't try it. thankfully there's a set so if you're not sure which one to try, you can try the set first. i believe there are other sets as well so pick one that might be suitable for your skin type.
