i honestly had no idea why i bought this toner. probably because i have no interest in other toners that are around at the market right now. so i guess why not give this a try. anyway, this toner has been around for quite some time now, so it's nothing new. but i guess won't hurt to try now.

description at the back and ingredients list |
the packaging: it comes in white box with hale name written in blue text. somehow i think it's hale signature with that color combination. the toner also comes in plastic bottle with similar design as the box, in opaque white plastic bottle with white plastic screw cap. the opening of the bottle is actually the usual size for toner, if not bigger, but somehow it doesn't pour out as easily as the previous toner that i use. but i get used to it pretty quick. the toner comes in 100 ml which is just the normal size of toner but since the bottle is a bit short, it looks less than usual.
the bottle |
the scent: this is scentless and there's no funky smell from the ingredients as well. however... they claim this toner is alcohol free, but during the first few uses, i think i can smell strong scent like alcohol every time i open the bottle. i don't know what causes it, but it's not alcohol since you can see in the ingredients list that there's truly no alcohol in it. however, the scent dissipates over time.
the opening |
the product: this is a watery type toner, so the toner looks like one and it's runny just like water. when it's on my hand, i thought there's a bit viscosity into it, but it spreads around and glides easily like water. since it's very runny, it's supposed to sink in quickly, but somehow, once it's spread around, there's a slippery feeling that stays for quite a bit. like there's a layer on top of my skin. but luckily, i can still use other products on top of it and it doesn't pill.
how it looks like on my hand |
the result: as i've said before, after spreading it around my face, i immediately feel there's a layer of moisture on top of my skin. no matter how hard i rub it, the feeling is still there. somehow it reminds me of studio tropik herbitus toner. luckily, i can still use other products on top of this toner without any pilling. however, i can't judge the performance since the feeling is kind of clouding my judgement. all i can say that it does hydrate my skin since i don't experience any dryness even though i use actives like BHA serum and retinol serum. however, i also learn that compared to studio tropik herbitus one, this one is less hydrating. i have to add additional serum now in the morning when i use my BHA serum.
after patted it |
i have to say that it doesn't feel enjoyable since i use this toner. somehow i don't like the after feeling after using this toner. but if you have no problem with it, then you should try it. the price is still reasonable and the size is nice as well. i think this might be suitable for all skin type as you can layer it if needed. but if you have dry to extremely dry skin, i don't it will be enough for you. as for me, since i don't quite like the feeling, i won't repurchase it again.
