tatcha the water cream

i can't tell you how happy i am when we can finally travel to singapore. both my sisters live there and i didn't see them for around 2,5 years! i even can't see my nephew until he's almost a year old! anyway, finally i saw them couple months ago and i was happy to be back there. it felt like second home. and i'm happy to see that there were several interesting sets that i found in sephora. i ended up buying 3 sets! one from tatcha, one from drunk elephant, and one from sunday riley. aside from drunk elephant, i never tried the other two, so i'm excited to try them.

this is the description from their website: this lightweight, clarifying water cream releases a burst of hydrating nutrients and pore-refining botanicals for healthy aging and smooth, balanced skin.
- provides nutrient-rich, balanced hydration: unique water-burst cream breaks upon application to deeply deliver treatment benefits, hydrating without leaving skin sticky or greasy.
- clarifies and refines skin with pure, powerful japanese botanicals: japanese wild rose visibly tightens pores and smoothes skin texture. japanese leopard lily helps control excess oil and clarify skin by encouraging natural skin turnover.
- delivers anti-aging japanese superfoods: hadasei-3, an anti-aging trinity of green tea, rice & algae, restores healthy-looking, youthful radiance. imparts a subtle, shine-free glow with a touch of 23-karat gold.

tatcha mini favorites, what's inside:
- the camellia cleansing oil (50ml)
- the rice wash (50ml)
- the deep cleanse (50 ml)
- the essence (25 ml)
- the water cream (10 ml)
- the dewy skin cream (10 ml)
description at the back
the packaging: the set comes in a purplish pink pouch. there's a sleeve with descriptions of all the products inside at the back of it while the front has the picture of all the products in the set. all the products are placed on a plastic tray so they stay in place inside the pouch. the water cream comes in tosca plastic tub with screw cap. the size is 10 ml which is okay for a moisturizer sample. it looks similar to the full size one, minus the gold ornament on top of the tub and the spatula.
all the products inside
the scent: it doesn't have any particular scent, aside from the natural scent from the ingredients.
the tub
the product: it's a white cream with a slight gel texture. it's just as advertised. it melts into watery traces once it's spread around. it's absorbed quickly as well and leaves satin finish. no tacky feeling afterward.
how it looks like inside
the result: i have to say that it does as promised, hydrating without the greasy or sticky feeling. it layers well under sunscreen too. the sample is enough for around 10 days and i used it twice a day, in the mornings and afternoons, so it's a good amount of sample.

this is actually the second high-end brand moisturizer that i really like. this is lightweight but works well. i have to say that it does suitable for combination to oily skin better than dry skin. even i use other type of moisturizer at night because it's not occlusive enough. anyway, if you have combination to oily skin and want to splurge, you can try this one. as for me, i'd keep this in my wish list.
