  • About me
lately i've been slacking in my mask sheet game. somehow my stash isn't attract me to use it anymore. i'm more interested in opening new bottle or jar. but i've been staying up late due to pumping breastmilk, and we sleep with the air conditioner on, so my skin needs a lot of hydration. so i decided to open up the naturie hatomugi skin conditioner and use it to soak my daiso tablet sheet mask.

now, you must be curious about tablet sheet mask. actually, it's compressed sheet mask and form it into tablet. you can soak it in your hydrating toner or first essence or serum and then after all the liquid being absorbed, you can put it on your face like ordinary sheet mask.

the packaging: the one that i bought from daiso comes in 15 tablets per pack. the packaging is really simple, just all the tablets in a plastic with small cardboard to line the tablets. there's an english description at the back along with some pictures to help the user to understand it better.

the product: it's made from cotton. when it's dry, it looks like a medicine tablet. white and round. and then after it comes in contact with the liquid, it will instantly rise as it absorbs the liquid and then you can untangle it to reveal the mask. the mask itself is quite thin, slightly thinner than my lululun face mask. the mouth and nose holes are okay for me. the eyes however, is quite weird, since it has these flaps to cover your eyelid. although you can lift the flap, but once it dries, the flap will come down on your eyelids again. the cheek part is always unfit part. but, aside from that, i'm quite happy with the fit.

so, i think this tablet mask is really a good deal. i bought it from daiso, which is 100 yen for 15 tablets, so it's quite cheap. plus it will be very helpful to use up if you have big size hydrating toner like i do. and i think it's very suitable for daily use since the mask itself isn't that thick so the mask will be dry after 10-15 minutes. and recently i read about the side effect of using sheet mask too much. it will cause plastic waste to pile up, so using tablet masks will lessen the packaging waste since it's 15 masks in one package. unfortunately, not all daiso stores carry this table mask, so perhaps it will difficult to get it. now, tell me, have you tried tablet masks? please do tell..

the mask on my face

this is another character mask that i bought along with the otter one. this is the fourth character mask that i've tried, and i knew better not to expect much from a character mask. but after using the otter, i think the SNP one is better than the face shop one. so let's see.. and i have to say the name is quite weird.. i think it's supposed to be anti-wrinkle.. not wrinkle mask, but hey..you know the korean, they're not that good with english name. remember cosrx with their "white power essence"? yeah, this is weird like that.

this is the description from ulta: animal tiger wrinkle mask sheet by SNP boosts dulling skin cells with elastic energy leaving skin radiant and resilient. replenishes resilient energy to make skin firm and lustrous. coconut water which improves hydration and evening primrose oil, acai berry extract and wrinkle improving ingredient adenosine make skin resilient and invigorated. coconut water and moisture energy ampoule reduce wrinkles and improve resilience. makes rough skin caused by dryness smooth. reinforces luster to dry and lifeless skin. coconut water effectively replenishes moisture in the body and contains high levels of essential electrolytes and potassium. it is called "liquid of life" in its pure and natural form. made with natural pulp for highly concentrated essence to stay on skin longer. real animal mask has a safe color element that does not stimulate skin, and its safe ingredients and new character design is satisfying in its texture and adds fun for a whole new experience.

the packaging: it comes in boring rectangular sachet. for tiger, it's yellow with the picture of the tiger mask at the front. oh, there's an english text at the back, but if you spent some time to read it, then you will laugh since it is ridiculous. this is a mask for face, but they mention sock and stuff.

the scent: another wet tissue-scented mask. not too strong though.

the product: the mask is similar to the otter, thick but not rigid. although the eyes and mouth holes are big, but the fit is okay for me. it also has tall forehead and narrow cheek but slightly better than the otter one. the essence is a clear type essence. at first i thought it was generous, but it took 30 minutes to dry and once it's taken off my face, it dried up after a minute or two.

the result: okay, this mask is supposed to be anti-wrinkle, which is usually connected to super hydration or moisturizing properties. but, this mask isn't too moisturizing. in fact, i think my lululun mask (the purple one) is more hydrating than this tiger mask.

so, again, another disappointment with character mask. but i think it's fun to use since it doesn't have annoying scent. plus it's more bearable than the face shop one. but i don't think i will buy this one again.

i bought this sample along with 4 other mask samples. i've used two of them, and this is the third one that i've tried. actually, somehow trying those mask samples get me addicted again to wash-off mask. and travel sizes or sample sizes are perfect for me since i get bored easily but i want to try many products, so unless i really, really love it, i won't buy it in full size for now. now, move on to the mask, actually this 4-in-1 labelling make me curious about this mask. how can a mask be a facial cleanser as well? moreover be a toner.. that's why i was curious and bought it to find out myself.

this is the description from the website: this cleansing multi-action foaming clay cleans, scrubs, tones and absorbs oil so even unruly skin behaves better than ever. kaolin and bentonite clays clear out oils and debris from deep within pores. pumice exfoliates to clear away dead skin cells with apple cider vinegar tones for a radiant finish.
directions as daily cleanser & scrub: massage gently onto damp skin. rinse well.
directions as a mask & toner: apply mask to face and neck, avoiding contact with eyes. let dry and rinse with warm water.

the packaging: look at that picture.. the color is pretty, isn't it? now, the travel or sample size comes in exact color and design, just in irregular shape sachet. again, the sachet is quite big, so i've used this twice full-face and i still have plenty.

the scent: one thing i like about freeman masks are they smell great. this one too. it smells like fresh apple. so refreshing. very different from my usual clay mask.

the product: this is another creamy clay, but with a little grit inside. you can feel it grain when you touch it with your fingers. the color is pink. yes, the colors are another reason to like this mask. they come in various colors, sometimes even bright so it feels cheerful and uplifting. i've used this as mask and scrub. as mask, it dries after 15-20 minutes and easy to wash afterwards. as scrub, i feel this quite abrasive. this is the weird part. i will compare it to skinfood black sugar scrub which i've used before. the black sugar feels coarse under my finger, however when i massaged it on my skin, the coarse feeling is gone. like the sugar melt when it comes in contact with water. while this scrub, at first it feels like fine grains, but then it feels coarse when being massaged. at my second attempt, i used it too long and didn't add enough water so it was hard to remove and it made my skin red. it also feels tight as it dries. and even though i didn't apply it too close to my eyes, somehow it stings when i applied around eyes area.

the result: ooohhh.. i love to touch my face after using this mask. it makes my face oh so clean and soft. minus the redness though.

actually, i think if you mix your scrub with your clay mask, perhaps you will get this mask. but i also have tried using my scrub foam after using my clay mask, and the result is similar. and that's why i have to be careful since i was addicted to the result, i used my previous combo twice a week and it gave me over exfoliated skin. so i stick to once a week or once in two week. i think this mask will suit all skin types but for sensitive skin must use it with caution.

i received this mask along with kailijumei lipstick that's provided by amabiebeauty to review. so, even though i received this mask for free, my review will be completely honest.
actually, i never tried any of the saem products, although i have my eyes on several of their products, but somehow i decided to put hold on it or not to buy it. so, i have no idea what to expect from this mask sheet.

this is the description from koreadepart.com: contains tea tree extract that takes care of skin stress. mask sheet that eases shine and blemish of oily skin and creates clean and refreshing feeling.

the packaging: it comes in regular mask sachet with, i think, the picture of tea tree in front of it. at the back there's an explanation, both in korean and english text.

the scent: i didn't use tea tree products that often, so i have no idea what tea tree should smell like, but i can say that it's not similar to tea tree products from the body shop (the only tea tree product that i've used).

the product: i have to say that the first thing that i notice from this mask is the essence. it's an essence type, but not clear as usual, it's milky white. and it's very generous. but even though there seems a lot of excess, it doesn't enough to use with tablet sheet mask. another thing about the essence is it's dripping wet. it's dripping from the moment i took it out from the sachet and it keeps dripping during the early usage of this mask. it's annoying since even though you lie down, the essence will keep dripping to your neck. the fit is pretty okay, just long chin part which makes the essence dripping like crazy to my neck. after 10 minutes, the dripping has stopped and the mask started to dry. i use it for about 30 minutes and it's still slightly wet at the brim of the mask.

the result: honestly, at that time i don't have any problem with my skin, no blemishes, no redness, so actually it's not a good time to test that mask. and that's why i can only feel it moisturizes my skin, and i didn't notice anything else.

so, i think even though i have to pay for this mask, i won't regret it. and perhaps i would keep one for rainy days (just in case i experience redness or other emergency thing). once again, thanks amabiebeauty for providing me this mask.

i've seen hybrid products all over my feed on instagram. at first, i have no idea what they are. and then i found out that it was multitasker product. sometimes it's toner-essence hybrid, sometimes it's serum-cream hybrid. perhaps it was to attract western community to try asian skincare product. asian skincare is popular with its multi-step, but it can be terrifying for some, so perhaps by introducing hybrid product, it will cut short the length of step and time needed to achieve that skin glow. and the hybrid product that caught my eye was all in one ampoule. it comes in big jar, and there are two brands that was head-to-head in this line, scinic and shara-shara. i had difficult time finding out which one to try first. after all, i can't find any samples. or shares. so i have to buy the full size. and after searching and asking lots of questions to lots of people, i decided to buy scinic snail all in one ampoule first.

this is the description from memebox website: not very keen of your lengthy skincare routine? scinic has the ultimate all-in-one skincare solution for you! one ampoule that serves as your skin toner, booster, essence and moisturizer! scinic all-in-one ampoule contains rich natural ingredients including snail slime filtrate, peptide, and aloe vera extract that fully nourishes the skin in order to achieve beautiful, flawless skin. this ampoule serves as you all-in-one skincare product which lets you skip the long skin rituals you usually do. right after cleansing, just apply the ampoule all over your face and you're good to go!
how to use: after washing your face, apply an appropriate amount of all-in-one ampoule and massage it gently onto your skin. wrap face with warm hands to allow full product absorption.

the packaging: it comes in a big jar with screw cap. the bottle is plastic, brown in color and transparent so you can see the product inside. it come in big size, 250 ml. although i've asked my sis to take some for her, it's still a lot of product to finish. and there's a spatula to help you scoop the product out, but i think the spatula is too shallow to scoop the AIO since it's quite runny.

the scent: again, don't worry that it will smells weird. in fact, it smells fragrant. some even can't stand the scent, but for me it's still bearable.

the product: i don't know how the texture should be, but the snail AIO is thicker than toner, but runnier than gel. almost like sticky slime. it's transparent. it's easy to spread on my skin, but it takes quite some time to be absorbed. i can feel a slight sticky feeling, but it will vanish as it dries on my skin. as for the product order, i use this AIO in my essence step usually at night since it takes sometime to be absorbed, so i wash my face, use exfoliating toner, BHA, then this AIO and proceed with my vitamin creams and sleeping pack. for me, i can still use night cream afterwards, but i've read other people that say this AIO just sits on their face and make it difficult to use anything else.

the result: before using it in my complete routine, i used this in melbourne as my only hydrating product. i don't have my usual skincare routine with me, so at that time, i only wash my face, use this AIO and then proceed with sleeping pack at night. in the morning, the AIO is the only product that i use. it's quite hydrating since my skin didn't suffer dryness at that time, but at that time i used sleeping pack every two days, so perhaps the sleeping pack helps too. but for my husband (he has oily skin), since he didn't use anything at that time (plus it was winter), he suffered dryness and this AIO wasn't enough to help him out of dryness. his skin was still flaky.

so, i am quite happy since i can use snail AIO (it's quite big so it will be a waste if i can't use it). it's quite hydrating and i can feel my skin soft and supple after using this. but for other effect, i can't say since i use other products too. if you have dry skin, then this might not enough for you. but if you have normal skin, then try it. for oily skin, i don't know really.. it can be too sticky for you. and if you bored easily like me, perhaps find other people to share it with so you don't have to finish it alone. oh, and since i don't have much space in my vanity table plus it's quite troublesome using the spatula, i decant some of it and move it to pump container from daiso. i don't feel burden to finish a big size product, and it's still hygienic since it has pump to dispense the product. now, although i haven't finished it, i'm curious about the aqua or iceland water one, have you tried it? which one that you like?
the big jar (sorry about the plastic wrap, my sis had to wrap it since she took some of the AIO for herself and then she had to fly from singapore to melbourne so to avoid spillage she covered the opening with plastic wrap. btw, it still spilled)
