  • About me
now that i bought my foreo ufo, i regretted for not buying more saborino masks on my last visit to japan. sigh. now i don't know when i will be able to visit japan again due to covid situation. oh well. if you never heard of saborino, it's a brand that's famous for its masks in bulk. when i first saw saborino, they only have 32 masks packaging, while lululun has several options, from 7 pieces, 14 pieces and more. but on my last visit to japan, i found that saborino now has one piece mask and 5 pieces aside from their usual 32 masks. since i didn't know which one to pick, i only bought a 5 pieces one since at home i still have my 32 masks which i will write later and you'll find out why i didn't finish it earlier before foreo ufo. anyway... i heard their night masks are good so i decided to get the night mask but only in 5 pieces.

this is the description from their website (let me remind you that this is google translated so it might sound funny): for tired nights when skin care is troublesome. night care is completed with one mask. 5 in 1 night sheet mask. easy 60 second care for tired nights. saborino night mask that can be applied at once after bath or after washing the face to take care before going to sleep. simply pull it out after bath and apply it to complete night skin care. moisturizing and tightening, one 5 in 1 function that makes you happy at night. lotion, emulsion, beauty, cream, pack. moisturizing and refreshing tightening feeling refreshes your feelings and skin. night care is easy. for travels where you want to reduce your luggage, or on an airplane or night bus. comes in 5 pieces, perfect for carrying around. contains chamomile flower extract, lavender flower extract, orange oil, peppermint leaf extract, and other moisturizing ingredients like skin meal. in addition, the keratin care ingredient of malic acid.
ingredients: for moisture - chamomile flower extract, lavender flower extract, orange oil, honey, water soluble collagen, lipidure 2Na hyaluronate. clean - malic acid (keratin care). hikishime - mentha leaf extract. vitamin c derivative (ascorbyl glucoside)/ vitamin e (tocopherol) combination. wrapped in refreshing scent of chamomile orange, it invites you to have a relaxing and comfortable sleep.

the packaging: it comes in pouch in similar size to lululun's 7 pieces. for this night mask, it has dark blue background and have chamomile and orange drenched in honey pictured at front. every text at front is in japanese, so i have to idea what kind of mask it is. except if you have took a look at their website beforehand. description at the back is obviously in japanese, so if you're interested in buying saborino, you'd better search before and capture the picture.
the packaging

the scent: it has floral scent, which is close to the description (chamomile orange scent). i don't think i smell orange scent, but my nose is bad, so i might be mistaken. anyway, don't worry about the scent, it's not too overwhelming.
left: before
middle: mask on
right: after one use
the product: just like the other saborino mask that i have, it's made of thin mask similar to lululun. the fit is very small, but thanks to @christinahello, i find out that the mask is stretchable so you can fit it to your face. not ideal, but acceptable for me. there's no slit so stretching it is the only way to make it fit to your face. if you're not comfortable with the idea of stretching the mask, you'd better skip it as saborino masks are small in fit. it has clear essence, and the essence is enough for all 5 masks. i think it has slightly more than the bigger package, but i might be wrong since i haven't finished the big pack yet.
left: after one use
right: after finishing the whole pack
the result: after one day use, i only notice the hydrating and a bit brightening effect. after 5 days usage, i can definitely see this one is hydrating enough, but not too rich so it doesn't clog my pores. the brightening effect is visible but it doesn't last long as usual.

i totally love this version better than the other type that i have. i wish i could go back to japan and i'll repurchase this in big bulk. oh well. if you're not used to japanese sheet mask, you should be aware that usually they are thinner in materials since they're meant to be used daily. there's not much essence on the mask since it's meant to be used in short time. for saborino, it's supposed to be 60 seconds, but i used them for about 5 minutes. if you're used to thin and juicy masks like my beauty diary or my scheming diary, you'd probably not like these masks since thinner material and not much essence means quicker to dry. if you're looking for long pampering session, then definitely this mask is not fit into that criteria. but if you're looking for quick pampering session or if you're like me, using the mask to use in combination with foreo ufo or other beauty gadget, this mask is definitely fit the bill. it's considered still affordable, since it comes in a bulk packaging. but the downside, saborino is not widely available here. if i have to get it through pre-ordering system, the price would be double the original price in japan. so, best way to get saboronino would be when you visit japan or from online shop that sales straight from japan. for me, i would definitely buy this type again in bigger size, and i would buy other type in smaller size like this one to try which one to get next time. i do like that now they sell smaller packaging so i can try them beforehand.
i've been lacking in writing my review as usual. this pandemic thing is slowly eating everyone. though i've been staying indoor most of the time even before the pandemic, it still eats me sometime. especially when the kids are acting out. plus my husband changed my phone to other brand, which make photo transferring a bit troublesome. so i've been lacking in editing my photos as well, that's why i've been late in writing my post. anyway.. school has been slowed down now, so i'm trying to catch up with my post. anyway.. i hope you all well despite this pandemic. it's been depressing with the lockdown and now with the racism protest and riot, but i hope we can endure it and hope for the best outcome. for the pandemic to end and for the racism to stop. anyway.. i had the chance to visit japan last october before the pandemic began and luckily i did my usual haul, so i managed to buy several new items to try, one of them is this face foam from minon. minon is famous for targeted sensitive skin, so i hope this facial foam is not as drying as other japanese face foam that i've tried before. so let's see...

this is the description from their website: hypoallergenic facial cleanser that comes out with foam. contains vegetable amino acid-based cleaning ingredients. the type that comes out with bubbles. a moisturized finish with no feeling of tightness. cut off allergens as much as possible. mild acidity. slightly fragrant.

the packaging: actually, i didn't know that minon has three big lines. i've been used to seeing minon amino lines, which has white body and orange peachy top, but this facial foam comes in orangey body, so at first i was confused whether it's the same minon, but it turns out that it is the same minon. minon has 3 lines, the general one that has entire products for hair and body (including face washes), the amino moist (which i've been seeing often, and i've tried the sheet mask before), and the men products. they have two facial wash, one in tube version, and this one is in foam version. as usual, japanese is very minimalistic. it comes in just the foam bottle, covered in plastic sealing. the face foam comes in orangey plastic bottle with white pump head, covered in transparent plastic cap. there's description at the back of the bottle but everything is in japanese. the only english text that i can read is "mild facial foam" so i know that it's a foam wash. i choose the foam type because with hada labo, the tube is still drying for face, while the foam isn't. that's why i choose the foam. but i didn't know for sure about the tube and foam difference in minon, so i can't be sure about it. anyway, the pump head has line grid so your finger doesn't get slippery when you push the button while you're in the shower. i can also control the amount of the foam by adjusting the power i use to push the button. half pump is enough since little goes a long way with this foam.
the bottle
the scent: as written in description, it's slightly fragrant. it smells like baby powder, which is a bit fragrant but not overly strong. i quite like the scent. but since minon is targeted sensitive skin, i don't know why they add fragrance to the face wash. but i do like the scent. it's a bit refreshing since most japanese products that i've used are mostly scentless.
description at the back of the bottle
the product: as i've said earlier, i just need a bit for my whole face because the foam can hold its body. unlike the previous foam from sana that disperse before i use it with my foreo. but this one holds well so i only need to use a bit for my whole face. it works well with my foreo, and it works okay with bare hands too.
look at the fluffy foam
the result: this is one is definitely moisturizing a bit, definitely not drying at all. similar to hada labo gokujyun face foam. but this one is scented while hada labo one is scentless.
you can see that even though i've put it on my face before proceeding with my foreo,
the foam is still there
i am glad that i bought this one. i think it will suit all skin types. though i'm not sure that it has refill package, i'll definitely repurchase this foam if i could go back to japan after this pandemic is over. definitely will haul even though there's no refill package. price wise, it's not as cheap as hada labo, but it's still affordable. but if you count the price in per ml, then it would be much more expensive as this one only comes in 100ml, while hada labo comes in 160 ml. if you like hada labo but you want a scented version, probably you would like this.
i was glad origins made a lot of skincare care sets and sold them during the holiday since their holiday sets are still reasonably priced. i bought some of them during the holiday while i was in singapore since it's not sold here in indonesia. i've tried several of their masks but most of them are so-so, not worth paying full price. for this set, i've tried the face wash and the toner, and the moisturizer is the last item in the set for me to try. i've heard people say good things about this moisturizer, so let's see whether it's true or not.

this is the description from their website: and energy boosting gel moisturizer formulated to help wake up dull, tired and lackluster skin with 72-hour hydration. oil free and silicone free. what it does: delivers 72-hours of oil free hydration as it revs up skin's natural radiance for a wide-awake look. energy boosting caffeine from coffee and ginseng help refresh and revitalize, while hydra-hug technology helps lock in and maintain lasting, healthy moisture. essential oil blend of grapefruit, lemon and spearmint naturally invigorates the senses.
the tube
the packaging: since i bought this in a set, it comes in an envelope-like cardboard poach with the picture of the three items inside at front. description about all three products at the back. the moisturizer itself comes in orange squeeze plastic tube with white screw cap. i thought it comes in bigger size than the matte moisturizer, but i was wrong. it comes in 15 ml as well. short description at the back of the tube in english mostly. the whole ginzing line has orange and white combination so it's easy to spot it.
description at the back
the scent: i thought reading the name ginzing and it has ginseng as one of its main ingredients, it would smell like sulwhasoo, which has rich ginseng scent or herbal scent. but this one doesn't. it smells like orange instead. very refreshing and nice! i like the scent of this product.
i don't remember if they put a seal on the opening
the product: it's a white gel cream and it's not too thick in consistency. it spreads easily on my skin but it doesn't leave watery traces. but it does being absorbed easily. it's not super rich and can be considered lightweight enough to be used in the morning. but since i used emulsion in the morning, i used this at night only. i've used this almost a month and i can still there's a bit left in the tube.
the moisturizer on my hand (the sunlight somehow makes it more yellow than it is)
the result: this one is moisturizing enough, more so than the matte moisturizer one. but since it is in gel cream format, as like any other gel moisturizer, it's not as thick and occlusive as thick cream moisturizer. this also works well over other skincare products that i used. this leaves a bit glowy finish unlike the matte moisturizer. but it doesn't leave sticky feeling when i touch my face.
after blending it in
i definitely like this one better than the matte moisturizer that i've tried just before this. this one doesn't give me dead matte finish. also i can feel this one moisturizes my skin a bit better. it also smells nice, i really like the scent. among all origins products that i've tried before, this is the only one that i like so far. so i guess it really deserves the rave. so if you have the money to splurge and you have combination to oily skin, this is a good option for you. but if you have dry skin, i think it would be okay for in the morning, but not at night. i don't think it'd be enough for night time. as for me, i'm glad i've tried the travel size. i don't think i'll spend my money on the full size, but if i do have some money to spare, i'd sure love to get this one.

when i first heard of briogeo, it wasn't available yet in indonesia, but it was available in singapore. i heard people praising the don't despair, repair mask and the scalp revival one. when i saw them in singapore, the price was too expensive for me to justify buying the full size. so waited a bit longer. and then they came out with the travel kit. and luckily, they have don't despair repair kit! i was glad so i asked my husband to buy me one when he was in singapore.
the pouch
this is the description from the website: our best-selling don't despair, repair! collection works in minutes to restore essential hydration and natural vibrancy to dry, brittle, over-processed, and otherwise lackluster hair. formulated with briogeo's unique NOVA complex, this collection delivers an optimal blend of transformative nutrients from b-vitamin, rosehip and argan oils, algae, and biotin to replenish damaged hair to a shiny, healthy-looking, and lustrous state.
who it's for: those with dry, damaged hair that want the ultimate deep conditioning experience.
safe for: color-treated, keratin-treated, chemically-treated and relaxed hair.
what it does: even the most overworked hair will benefit from this super-rich treatment collection, designed to repair, treat and hydrate the hair.
how to use the leave-in mask: spray throughout freshly washed and damp hair with focus on the mid-lengths and ends. comb through and do not rinse. air or blow dry and style as usual.
ingredients: water, polysorbate 80, brassica alcohol, coconut oil, argania spinosa kernel oil, shea butter, rosa canina fruit oil, sargassum filipendula extract, panthenol, caprylic/capric triglyceride, chamomilla recutita flower extract, tocopheryl acetate, glycerin, algin, citric acid, chitosan, arginine, gellan gum, coco-glucoside, brassicyl isoleucinate esylate, fragrance, dehydroacetic acid, benzyl alcohol.
description at the back
paper stuff to cushion the products
the packaging: since i bought this as a kit, it comes in a peach soft pouch secured by a cardboard sleeve that has the picture of everything inside the kit. there's a description at the back of the sleeve about all three products. the pouch has a zip so you can really bring this while travelling. all the products inside are cushioned with paper. there's also a card that comes with the kit. the leave in mask comes in a white plastic bottle that has doff finish. the spray head is covered by white plastic cap. you can read the product's name at front and product's description as well as the ingredients list at the back in english. the mask comes in 59 ml which a weird amount.
all the products inside
the scent: it has added fragrance written in the ingredients list, and it smells fragrant as expected, but it's not overly strong. it has floral scent but i can't say what kind it is. it does linger as it's applied while the hair is damp. i don't mind the scent, but my little one said that it doesn't smell good and my husband agreed. they like my body shop hair mask and my previous hair oil's scent better.
the spray bottle
the product: as this is a leave in conditioner, no wonder it comes out as a white foamy cream just like conditioner when i sprayed it out my hand. since i only use it on my hair ends, i usually need about five to six pumps. i've used it throughout my last japan trip which was about 10 days and i washed my hair every two days, and i still have plenty. i've been using it since i finished my previous hair oil, and i still have some in the bottle.
description at the back of the bottle
the result: i've tried using this several ways. on wet hair when it's freshly washed, it doesn't give any effect. on dry hair, it weighs down my hair and it leaves residue on my hair as if i didn't wash it properly. and it gets oily real quick. but on damp hair, about half dried, it works well. it absorbs well into damp hair and after blowing it dry, it makes the hair end feels soft. even though i've colored my hair, i don't suffer split ends thanks to this leave in conditioner and my hair mask.
the leave in conditioner on my hand
though this leave in conditioner works okay, i don't quite fond of the texture. it feels like putting conditioner on my clean hair. i like using hair oil after washing my hair better. and even though it works, i don't think it could justify the price. it's still overpriced. but if you have money to splurge on, and you're looking for a vegan or cruelty free hair products and you have dry hair, you should try this one. i think you can easily find briogeo products in sephora, so it's easier to get now. even in indonesia you can buy briogeo now. but as for me, i don't think i'll purchase the full size.
i can't believe i haven't written a review about this yet! i really need to get better at putting down my notes. anyway, last year my husband got the chance to go to US, so i made a long wish list for him to hunt down. i was hoping he could get some flower beauty stuff because it's not available here or in singapore or australia (not yet at that time), so i can't ask my siblings to buy me either. luckily, he did buy some flower beauty stuff. i've tried the foundation and lipsticks, so it's time to see about the famous blush bomb which people say that it's a dupe for glossier cloud paint.

this is the description from their website: a new way to give your cheeks fresh, healthy color in an instant! each drop of this silky, lightweight formula blends seamlessly. buildable and natural looking for a perfect flush every time. non staining, lightweight gel-cream formula blends easily. precision dropper applicator, radiant finish, vegan.
the box
the packaging: it comes in a colorful and comical box with transparent plastic window so you can see the tube inside from the outside. the background has "bomb" illustration to emphasize the "blush bomb" name. you can see the shade name on top left of the box. there's description at the back of the box in english as well as ingredients list. it comes in 9 ml which is just 1 ml less than glossier cloud paint. the tube itself is a white squeeze tube with color-coordinated illustration so you can guess the shade from the tube. it has pointy snout so you can dispose exact amount of the blush according to your need. it's quite hard to squeeze so even though i'm quite clumsy, i never spill it out. the snout is covered with transparent plastic cap.
description at the back
the shade: there are 6 shades available ranges from light to bright, from neutral, peachy, pink to berry shade and bright coral. i picked pinched, which looks like quite natural, light peachy shade. on light skin tone, it would be okay even looks natural, but if you have medium to dark skin tone, it wouldn't show up on your skin. you can mix shades with the glossier one, but since i only have one, i can't say that it's the same with this one.
the tube
the product: i wouldn't say that this is a liquid blush. it's more like gel-like blush. you can control the amount that you want to use by adjusting the pressure when you squeeze the tube. i bought pinched, which is probably the lightest one, so i can use it more liberally than other shades. but for brighter and deeper shades, i think a little goes a long way.
the spout
the result: i've used this blush several ways. i've used sponge, my finger and attempted to use it with brush. but i like using my finger to blend this. i don't have brush that's dense enough to spread the brush and doesn't leave streak mark, so i didn't use brush because of that reason. but if you have brush that works well with cream blushes, i think you can try using blush to apply it. as for sponge, it absorbs too much product and i have to put layers of it to get the color shown enough on my cheeks. so that's why my fingers work best. it spreads easily under the warmth of my finger but remember to just tap the blush and not dragging it since it might move the foundation underneath. once it's blended enough, it doesn't change to powdery finish, so it will give dewy look. if you're into dewy look, then this is the right product for you. but since i don't like overly dewy look, i usually put powder on top and then use another powder blush since the color will fade if i put powder on top. since i never use this without powder, i can't say how long it will stay without powder. but if i use powder on top, it would stay about 6 hours or so, even in hot days, as long as you don't rub your face. and you can use this over powder as well without looking patchy. so you can use this for touch up as well.
the blush on my hand
after blending it
what it looks like on my face
i think i like all flower beauty products that i tried, even this blush. though i wish it would a bit more vibrant. but then, it would be more like nectar (which is slightly more peachy and a bit brighter). i like it for travelling since i don't need to bring brushes, i just need to pat this with my finger and set it with powder. i never tried glossier cloud paint so i can't decide whether or not this is a dupe for it. but if you're on a budget and you can get this easily, you should try one. especially if you like cream/liquid blush. but for me, i don't think i'll buy another one merely because it's not sold here and buying through preorder system means i have to pay much more than the original price. that being said, i don't think i'll repurchase it. and for those in indonesia, if you're curious about this type of blush, BLP beauty has liquid blush in similar packaging like this one, so i think if i ever finish this blush, i'll try BLP one next time.
i rarely won any giveaway, but luckily, this time i did. i won votre peau giveaway. and i got their night cream, retinol and peptide serum to try. i was glad i won, because i wanted to try local brand skincare. i've tried some local makeup products, but no skincare yet. votre peau is one of local brands that i've been keeping my eyes on. i wanted to try their vitamin c serum, but i found out that they had two. and i don't know which one to pick. then they released their new serums, retinol and peptide. i was curious about the retinol, but since i already bought drunk elephant set that contains retinol too, i had opened that one before this gift arrived, so retinol is next in my schedule. anyway, peptide is something new for me. somehow i don't have any luck with anti aging serum that's very moisturizing or thick, that's why i'm a bit wary about this serum. so let's see how my skin reacts..

anyway.. it's hard to get description about this serum even on maharis website, so i just copy the description at the back of the bottle: peptide induces cellular repair, regenerate and reduces fine lines. it is best used as an anti-aging treatment and plumping of the skin, induce collagen formation, hence creating a smooth and resilient skin.
ingredients: aqua, propylene glycol, hydroxyethylcellulose, arginine, hyaluronic acid, sodium benzoate, tetrasodium EDTA, phenoxyethanol, tomato leaf corriander oil, juniperus communis fruit oil.

the packaging: since i got this as giveaway, i only got the bottle. it is a small glass bottle with dropper head. it has a label with description at the back in english and indonesia. ingredients list are also written at the back. it's only 10 ml, which is quite small. i thought it was a sample size, but i found out that they sold the serum in that size to justify the price. if they sold it in 30 ml, the price would be much higher. and people probably won't buy the serum. anyway.. it looks like medication drop rather than a skincare item.
the bottle
the scent: i think this one is scentless, but even it does have some scent, it's barely noticeable. there's no added scent in the ingredients list as well, so i guess if you can pick some scent, probably it's because of the ingredients.
the description at the back
the product: it's a transparent gel serum. quite viscous but it spreads easily on my skin. it's quite viscous that if you pinch the dropper not long enough, it won't pick any serum. but on the other side, since it's quite viscous, you just need a little for your whole face. i only need a drop for my whole face. it takes me about 3 weeks to finish this 10-ml serum.
the serum inside the dropper
the result: after being absorbed, i can feel it's slightly tacky. but you can pat it until the tackiness goes away. definitely i can feel this one is very moisturizing. it's rich but not clogging my pores. in fact, i've tried several serum that contains peptide or anti-aging ingredients, but they always seem to clog my pores. but this one doesn't clog my pores, which is surprising since i thought it would be when i first used it. after finishing it, i can totally feel my skin is plump and more supple. i used this in combination with my DE retinol, and i can totally sure that the retinol does not dry out my skin thanks to this serum.
the serum on my hand
after blending it
honestly, i'm surprised with this serum. it's totally beyond my expectation. i have combination skin, but now i'm not that young, so i started to use retinol. and i've tried acid before and it haywires my skin, so i dialed back a bit. and every time i try to use anti aging serum or any serum that promotes anti-aging properties, somehow it doesn't suit my skin. it clogged my pores and makes me break out. so i'm very happy that this one does not break me out. and it being a local brand products, i'm quite proud that i can find a good local brand. as good as korean or western brand. i think this will suit normal to dry skin as it's very moisturizing. but if you want to try this out, luckily this only comes in 10 ml, so it won't hurt if you want to give it a try. anyway, i just found out that they have bigger size, i'd need to check it out. but first, i need to finish my stash before repurchasing this one.
there's not much people talking about muji products aside from the sensitive series, so when i found out that muji has other line beside the sensitive series, i decided to try it. there's a clear care line (comes in blue bottles) and aging care line (comes in brown bottles). there's also another line comes in orange bottles. all the sensitive lines is scentless, but the aging care and clear care line has a bit fragrance added to it. so if you want scentless products, you should stick to the sensitive care lines. anyway, i bought this from singapore stores and they do have travel size for selected items, so i bought the emulsion from this line as i can't find the toner in travel size. so let's find out more about this one.

the description from their website (let me remind you that this is google translated so it might sound funny): a skincare series using natural water from Kamaishi, Iwate Prefecture. as a natural moisturizing ingredient, it contains 4 kinds of fruit extracts such as grapefruit extract and kiwi extract to prepare the skin where texture and pores are a concern. no synthetic fragrances, no coloring, no mineral oil, weak acidity, alcohol-free, paraben-free.
four kinds of plant extracts obtained from fresh fruits such as grapefruit extract that gives the skin firmness and moisture made from grapes produced in Yamagata prepares the texture and leads to fresh and transparent skin.
moisturizing functional ingredients: ripijua (polyquaternium-51) and Na hyaluronate.
the grape fruit extract contained in the clear care series is made from grapes grown in Yamagata prefecture. it is used in juices, and the raw materials are made from the skin and seeds of the pomace. the skins and seeds are frozen, vacuum dried, and then the extract is extracted. it has the function of tightening the skin.
the bottle
the packaging: just like other muji products, it comes in minimalist design, similar to other products. the only differences are the color of the bottles and the description at the back of the bottle. everything else looks the same. for the clear care line, it comes in light blue bottle with description at the back in japanese. since i bought this in singapore, there's a small sticker label attached to the side with description in english. for travel size, it comes in 50 ml and has flip top. while the full size bottle has screw cap.
the back of the bottle
the scent: this one has added fragrance so it does have a scent, but as usual, i can't pinpoint what kind of scent it is. it just smells fresh and a bit fragrance.
flip top
the product: it is a white milk. the consistency is similar to the light version of sensitive care emulsion. it's a bit runny compared to the moisture version of sensitive care emulsion.
the emulsion on my hand
the result: it's been hot lately so this emulsion fits well. it's not too oily during the hot days but it still serves it purpose well. it does leave glowy finish, but not too much. it doesn't leave tacky feeling afterward too.
after blending it in
i have to say if the weather is hot like these days, i would reconsider purchasing this in full version. it's moisturizing enough for my skin without being overly sticky or oily. it layers well under sunscreen. it also smells nice. refreshing and a bit fragrant but nothing too much. unfortunately, i don't suffer any breakouts during using this emulsion, so i can't say anything about the "clear care" claim. but i do agree that this might be suitable for oily skin to combination skin type. if you have dry skin, you should skip this as it might not moisturizing enough for you. as for the price, as usual, muji skincare are always affordable, and there's a travel version for you to try first, so if you're interested, you should try it.
