  • About me
i always make promise to take care of my hair, but i'm more interested in hair color and hair tools instead. i was about to buy another 3 in 1 hair styler, but then i stopped myself. i rarely use my repit nowadays, so it would be a waste to spend money on something that i wouldn't use frequently, even though it's not too expensive compared to my repit. anyway, since i decided to take care of my hair, i decided to buy an anti hair fall shampoo. my hair does have hair fall problem, but i have a lot of hair to start with, so it's not like i'm losing a lot of hair. but mostly anti-hair loss products are targeted to grow more hair, while i don't want that. i only want something to prevent hair loss, but not adding more hair. i still have to thin my hair every time i cut my hair. so i was hoping this could prevent hair loss. let's see how it goes.

this is the description from their website: this anti-thinning densifying shampoo for fine hair helps nourish the roots, restore vitality and give the feeling of renewed density to thinning hair. for thinning and fine hair. results: desifies, builds volume, nourishes. ingredients: covers hair strands in rich lipids to increase diameter refine texture. leaves hair supremely supple under control with improved volume.

the packaging: i have to admit, shopee has made me buy stuff i haven't tried before, including this hair shampoo. i never bought loreal professionnel mainly because it's more expensive than the one in the supermarket. but since shopee has been doing more sales, i decided to buy one to try. anyway, it comes only in plastic bottle. they color coded their line. for hair density series, it's white/silverish. it's a white/silverish plastic bottle with flip top. there's description at the back of the bottle as well as the ingredients list. i think there are two types of shampoo from this line, so be careful to read the whole name before purchasing.
the bottle
the scent: it's scented but i can't specify what kind of scent it is. it smells quite fragrant but i don't mind. it's not too overwhelming either. all i can say maybe it's not floral, but i can't be sure.
description and ingredients list at the back
the product: it's a transparent gel type shampoo. it's quite foamy so i don't need a lot for all my hair. even though the instruction is to use it twice, but i only use it once. it's easy to wash off too. in the ingredients list you can see that it contains SLES. if you're avoiding SLS and SLES altogether, you might want to skip this.
flip top and the bottle opening
the result: at first, i can see the difference especially after i wash my hair. the amount of hair left on my sewer drain was decreasing. however, another problem arise when the weather changed. lately there's been less rainy days, so the weather is hotter. my scalp has been reacting due to the heat and sweat. it started to itch and dandruff is showing up. however, i don't want to stop using the shampoo so i try to use another product to calm and soothe my scalp. a little update, after my scalp is recovering, i can see the amount of hair shedding has reduced to minimal, but i can still see some shedding. if my scalp acted out again, my hair would fall more. so i would say that the shampoo doesn't help much in preventing hair fall.
how it looks like on my hand
i know that only using the shampoo won't help much, but right now i'm also using another hair tonic. i'm hoping i would see the difference but i don't see that so far. i've been using the hair tonic for two weeks (i wash my hair every other day fyi) and the amount of hair shedding is still the same. so i think i would switch to other shampoo after i finish this. if you only have light hair fall problem, then this shampoo might help. but for heavy duty, i don't think this shampoo solely will help. i haven't tried other treatment from this line mainly because it's expensive. plus i still have lots of hair so it's not super urgent to regrow my hair. anyway, probably won't repurchase.

i promise myself that i would take care of my hair better this year. i've been facing hair loss problems since giving birth, but i never take it seriously since i have lots of hair. even up until now, i just want to reduce hair shedding without making it grow more. anyway, i've been trying loreal hair loss shampoo and it's been working for a bit, but my scalp was acting out after that. i start to get itchy scalp and dandruff as well. the weather has been hot lately so i guess it affected my scalp. anyway, i've been watching kae's ig and she recommended some erha hair products, including the scalp products. i decided to try the scalp exfoliating gel.

this is the description from their website: erhair scalperfect BHA & allantoin scalp exfoliating gel helps remove stubborn dirt on scalp like dandruff, oil, dust and pollution, hair spray residue and other hair styling product without adding irritation (mild exfoliation). scale or stubborn dirt on dandruff and seborrhoic dermatitis often could not get rid just by using daily shampoo. it needs effective scalp exfoliator to fight scale or dandruff quickly and thoroughly.
3 important uses of scalperfect exfoliating gel for hair and scalp:
- exfoliating scalp mildy and safely for sensitive scalp. remove stubborn dirt on scalp like dandruff, oil, dust and pollution, hair spray residue and other hair styling product without irritating scalp (mild exfoliation).
- stimulate hair growth: healthy scalp promotes new healthy hair growth. scalperfect exfoliating gel works by removing dead skin cells and stimulates new cells regeneration on scalp. healthy clean scalp. for a healthier hair growth.
- moisten scalp and increased hair elasticity: removes dandruff and dead skin cells on scalp and stimulates natural oil production on scalp to maintain its balance and moisture.
salicylic acid (BHA) as exfoliator to remove dandruff so scalp becomes clean and healthy.
lavender oil as antimicrobe-antifungal agent that effectively helps soothe and reduce itchiness on scalp and give calming scent.
allantoin: helps soothe and reduce itchiness on scalp.
menthol: gives cooling effect and comfortable for scalp.
hydrovance and aquaxyl: moisten and maintains scalp hydration, maintains balance and scalp health after shampooing and makes hair shiny and doesn't fall easily.
betaine: part of natural component of skin (natural moisturizing factor) that helps to maintain scalp moisture and reduce irritation and inflammation on scalp.

the packaging: i bought this together with the hair loss toner. the hair loss toner comes in a box, but i completely forgot about this one. i can't find the box, so i guess it doesn't come in a box. the gel comes in a white plastic squeeze tube like a toothpaste. it has white-blue combination label. i think the whole scalp/dandruff line has blue-white combination. there's description at the back in indonesian, as well as the ingredients list. it has spout to dispense the product out.
the tube
the scent: probably because it contains lavender oil, so it smells really nice. a bit fragrant but not too much. i don't mind anyway since i'll be washing my hair after putting it on my scalp.
description at the back
the product: it's a transparent gel. the spout makes it easier to dispense the product on my scalp. the direction tells us to put it on scalp and massage it and let it dry for five minutes before rinsing it. and that's exactly what i do. i put it on my scalp, especially on area where i feel itchy or i can see some dandruff on that area and then massage it well. i usually do other things and then proceed with washing it off then shampooing my hair.
the gel on my hand
the result: i've been using this for about two weeks. since i exercise every day, i wash my hair every two days. and i've been using this every time i wash my hair. on my first try, i was glad that this had cooling sensation. back then, i hadn't washed my hair for almost 3 days since we didn't have enough fresh, clean water to wash my hair (our water supply was stopped because there was a problem in our home area and it took awhile to take care of it) and it was a bit hot since it hasn't rained for two days so the cooling sensation was really soothing for my angry and greasy scalp. after washing it off, there's no residue left behind. really easy to use. after the first use, i can totally feel it helps with the itchiness. it subsides quite significantly. though it didn't remove all the dandruff on my first try. but after using it regularly for two weeks, i can't even see any dandruff now. maybe if my hair really greasy and dirty, i can see some dandruff but it's only on a small area. and the itchiness is gone too.

i'm very pleased with my purchase. i was torn between the gel or the serum, but now i'm glad i bought the gel. actually i want to force my husband to use it also, but he's too lazy to use it himself but he always washes his hair without letting me know in the first place, so i have no chance to make him try it. anyway, if you have problem with scalp, like itchiness and dandruff, you should try this gel. it does work. i might dial back the frequency since i don't see or feel any problem after using this regularly for two weeks, but definitely will repurchase to keep it in my stash. price is reasonable, but this one comes in 30 g. i don't have larger area to cover, so i don't use much product so far. but if you have larger area to cover, you might run the product faster. just keep that in mind.
i never have acne problems again since probably college days. probably because i was either pregnant or using contraception pill. though i've been using retinol lately, somehow my skin has been acting out. i was so desperate that i bought an acne spot gel. anyway, i'm hoping i won't have to use this often, so let's see how it goes.

this the description from their website (i translated it since it was in indonesian): acne care spot gel is proven clinically to clear acne and dark spots from acne scar since day 3. formulated to reduce inflammation, to speed up recovery and to prevent hyperpigmentation on active acne spot. can be use for men and women.
prevent skin irritation - acne spot gel also contains aloe vera extract that can prevent irritation and calm the skin down.
quickly heal active acne - clear gel consistency, making acne spot gel can be used in the morning or afternoon so it lessen the inflammation and heal active acne.
how to use: put acne spot gel on acne or part of the face that has acne. let it dry. use once or twice for optimal result.
ingredients: sulfur to kill bacteria and anti acne, salicylic acne as anti acne and help exfoliate dead skin cells, aloe vera extract to prevent irritation.
ingredients list: aqua, propylene glycol, hydroxyethyl acrylate/sodium acryloyldimethyl taurate copolymer, sulfur, salicylic acid, zinc gluconate, hydrogen peroxide, sodium hydroxide, dipotassium glycyrrhizate, citric acid, disodium EDTA, aloe barbadensis leaf extract.
the box
description at the back
ingredients list
the packaging: it comes in blue and white box. i think the whole acne line comes in blue and white design. it has description in indonesian at the back of the box, but there's a short description in english as well. there's ingredients list printed on the box as well. they put a seal on top of the box, and it's quite adhesive that it's quite hard to remove. the gel comes in a white plastic squeeze tube with long spout screw cap. i was surprised looking at the spout. i thought the inside would be ridiculously long as well, but fortunately it's not. the spout inside is quite short and small but it's okay to dispense the product. there's another short description at the back of the tube and it also has white-blue color combination as well. this only comes in 10 g.
secured seal
the tube
the scent: as you can read in the ingredients list, there's no added fragrance in it. so this one has no scent, but since it contains some active ingredients that has natural scent, like sulfur, you can sniff that kind of scent if you smell it really close.
the gel on my hand
after blending it
the product: it's a cloudy white/yellowish gel. since it contains sulfur, or other ingredients that usually comes in powder form mixed in it as well, you can see specks of yellowish powder in it, but you don't need to worry as it's natural and doesn't affect the result. it doesn't leave any mark after dried completely, so it's okay to use in the morning as people can't see that you're using a spot gel.
top: progress on inflamed acne
middle: on cystic acne
bottom: progress on popped acne
as you can see in three days there's significant changes on smaller acne or popped one,
but not on cystic acne one
the result: i've used this gel for over a month and on top of several stages of acne. for usual inflamed acne, it helps either speeding up the maturation progress or disappearing. if it's halfway mature, then it would speed up the maturity progress. however, i can't stop myself from picking them, so it would sting a bit if i have popped the acne then put the gel on top of it. however, after doing so, it dried up pretty quick, about two days time. as for cystic acne, this is still a trivial thing to do. i just tried an experiment to compare this with the famous bio beauty lab acne oil. i put this gel on top of cystic acne and compare it with other cystic acne that i use the oil on. for three days straight, i use it twice a day. however, for cystic acne, i don't see any difference in size nor the inflammation. it's still big and swollen and even hurt a bit, so after three days, i surrendered and just use my foreo ufo. miraculously, it started to lessen in just three days.

well, i have to say that this gel really works for smaller acne, pustule acne and already-popped acne, but it takes longer to treat cystic acne. if you have those type of acnes, you might want to try this as this leaves no mark on your face, so you can use this even in the morning. but if you have cystic acne, you might want to resort to other things as this gel might not help much. as for me, i do like that this come in gel type format and in a secure tube, as it's easier to carry around and to apply. but i'm still hoping i won't have to repurchase this one. price wise, i think it's still within reasonable pricing.
after i bought several real techniques brush the other time, i realize i don't have their eyeshadow brushes other than the smudge and diffuse one. nowadays, i only use two colors eyeshadow or three max, so i don't need a lot of eye brushes. so i decided to browse real techniques set (i don't want to buy the whole eye essential set because i think i don't need them all) and buy the shade and blend one. i think it would be perfect for blending the crease shade and put on the lid color.
the packaging
this is the description from their website: our eye shade + blend is paired for easy two-color shadow application. use with cream or powder eye shadow. get easy eye definition with just a few sweeps.
300 deluxe crease brush: soft, oversized design for effortless blending in crease.
301 base shadow brush: finely tapered bristles for buildable, all over lid application.
description at the back
the packaging: it comes in plastic box with description at the back in english. the brushes are placed on a paper slider so it's not crushed by the box.
brush name and brand name on the handle
the product: they color coded their brushes. orange for face brush, pink for cheek brush and purple for eye brush. so the whole theme is purple. purple lined box to the purple handle. the brushes are not as short as the smudge and diffuse set. but it comes in the same color combination. purple long ferrule and black handle. both are not as slim as the other set either. they engraved the brand name as well as the brush name on the handle. i think it's a good thing since beginner would be confuse differentiating the brush. the bristles are soft and fluffy as usual. for the deluxe crease, it's round and a bit dense. quite interesting as i usually use this type of brush for putting all over base color. the base shadow is unusual as well. it's tapered at the end and has a bit fan-shaped like the usual crease brushes are. it's not as dense as the deluxe crease one.
the deluxe crease brush
the result: well, i have to say it's difficult to change the habit. i've used to using dense round brush for all over base color and the tapered one for crease, so it's learning new things for me. i use the deluxe brush to sweep base color all over my lid. and then the base shadow to put the color on my lid up to my crease (lately i've been enjoying korean style to put eyeshadow, so they layered it horizontally, with the darkest color near the lashes). i don't have any problem with the crease brush as it works really well. but for the lid brush, i have to apply it several times since this one is tapered so the color doesn't show off as vividly as using other denser lid brush. but i have no complain since i don't use bright colors.
base shadow brush
again, all i really like this set. it works well for putting eyeshadow on my eyelid. if you don't use many eyeshadow colors like me, or even only use single eyeshadow, then this set is a good option for you. rather than buying the whole other set and you might end up not using all the brush, i think it's wiser to just buy sets like this. as for me, my brush collection is enough for now, so i really hope they last well. price wise, real techniques is considered drugstore priced in the US, but here the price is higher. if you have the budget and want to try high quality brush, i suggest you try this. if you don't have the budget, then there are other brushes cheaper than this and they work too. just adjust your budget and plan carefully.

i got some sample when i asked my sister to buy me foreo silicone cleanser. one of them is caudalie vinopure samples. however, the size of the samples are tiny, so somehow it got forgotten. anyway, i decided to clean my stash as quickly as possible as i have more products coming up. i failed my no-buy completely. anyway, since this is only a sample size, i can only give a first impression.

this is the description from their website: a splash of pure freshness. a natural toner that gently purifies and prepares the skin for the next stages of your routine. infused with natural salicylic acid, grape-seed polyphenols and organic essential oils, vinopure purifying toner targets combination and blemish-prone skin to gently purify the skin and prepare it for your next stages of your routine. the highly natural formula works immediately to improve skin clarity, unclog and tighten pores and clear imperfections, leaving the skin feeling clean and fresh. suitable for even sensitive skin, this toner contains our signature organic grape water to moisturize and soothe. a light and surprising 100% natural scent derived from the essential oils complex that delivers a breath of freshness with each application.
benefits: purifies, reduces blemishes, refines skin texture, tightens pores. formula: 99% ingredients of natural origin. 20% organic derived ingredients. non-comedogenic, dermatologically tested. free from synthetic fragrances. and as with all caudalie products, no parabens, phenoxyethanol, phthalates, mineral oils or animal-derived ingredients are used.
ingredients: aqua/water/eau, alcohol denat, rosa damascena flower water, vitis vinifera (grape) fruit water, caprylyl/capryl glucoside, vitis vinifera (grape) juice, salicylic acid, cymbopogon citratus leaf oil, lavandula hybrida oil, melissa officinalis leaf oil, mentha piperita (peppermint) oil, pelargonium graveolens flower oil, rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary) leaf oil, potassium sorbate, sodium benzoate, sodium phytate, arginine, citric acid, citral, citronellol, geraniol, limonene, linalool.
the sample set
the packaging: it comes in a leaflet. at front you can see the picture of the full size products. at the back, there's a bit description of the main ingredients as well as a small card to see the result. the whole vinopure line is supposed to reduce oil on your skin, so you should see the result after following the whole steps. anyway, since i don't like to use the whole line consecutively, i don't try the result card. anyway, for the toner, they placed it in a small transparent plastic bottle with light green screw cap. it comes in 5 ml size which is very tiny for a sample. usually mini toner size is around 15 ml or so. anyway, the bottle opening is too big that the first time i use it, i spill half of the bottle to my sink. but it was partly my fault too. they suggest to use the toner with cotton pad, but i usually use my bare hands to apply my toner, so i thought i could do it. but i was wrong. though second time i managed to just use a bit, i think using cotton pad is better.
how it looks like inside
the scent: this has no added fragrance. however, if you take a look at the ingredients, it contains alcohol denat, rose water, and limonene or linalool. usually those ingredients have their distinctive scent, so it would affect the product's scent. for me, this one smells medicated with a hint of alcohol scent thrown in. i have to say for a product that doesn't have added fragrance, the scent is quite noticeable.
the toner bottle
the product: this is just watery toner. that's why i spill it easily. *sigh. however, when i first using it, somehow i remember it feels cooling on my hand. probably because it contains alcohol and peppermint oil. but second time, it's not as cooling as the first time.
the big opening
the result: i have to say this is typical western toner. not korean toner that adds hydration to your skin. i know that this line is supposed to diminish sebum, but i don't think sucking all the hydration of your skin is included in the description. the toner is absorbed within seconds. like my skin sucks it all up. and poofff.. i won't feel anything after that. i can feel my skin is dry and matte. completely dry. like paper dry. i guess if you really like matte finish and don't mind drying your skin, then this toner might be for you. but if you're used to korean toner that adds hydration, then you'd agree with me that this toner is no way to be used daily. like it would suck all the water content of your skin. but, considering this is what the toner is supposed to do, then i have to say that it works.
my attempt to use it with cotton pad
left: before, right: after
not much dirt on the "after" cotton pad, unlike acwell toner's one
definitely pass. no way i would use something so drying for my skin daily. plus it contains a bunch of oils and extracts and aside from rose water, i don't see anything else that would add hydration. so no thank you.. it would be okay for one time when you really need your skin to stay matte. but using it daily? i don't think so. it would jeopardize your skin condition. i don't think i could recommend this to anyone, only if you're caudalie hard fans and you like western type of toner.
i've been trying retinol serum from local brands to compare them. i've tried somethinc and now i'm moving on to avoskin. i wanted to try FSS too, but since i don't quite like their vitamin c serum, i'm a bit hesitated now. anyway, i've heard good things about avoskin one, so i do hope that it works as well as somethinc one.

this is the description from their website: after success with several innovative products and best sellers of avoskin, this time avoskin presents the latest products that focus on dealing with premature aging. premature aging of the skin can be delayed by the use of proper skincare and a healthy lifestyle. avoskin presents miraculous retinol series containing actosome retinol which contains 0,09% active retinol and peptide which are useful to trigger the production of natural collagen in the skin. actosome retinol, peptide, and natural extracts - this series consists of miraculous retinol toner and miraculous retinol ampoule with superior ingredients actosome retinol, peptide, vitamin e, niacinamide, and natural extracts such as camellia sinensis (green tea leaf), raspberry, and pomegranate. handling premature aging skin - miraculous retinol series is the latest skincare series from avoskin which focuses on anti-aging skincare with the main function of helping to delay the process of the appearance of signs of premature aging of the skin. this ampoule contains retinol, peptide, vitamin e, with green tea extract and raspberry that work optimally to stimulate regeneration of new skin cells thereby increasing the production of natural collagen in the skin. serves to diminished fine lines, maintain skin elasticity, and brighten the skin.
the box
description on the sides of the box
ingredients list: water, propylene glycol,  phenoxyethanol, carbomer, PEG-40 hydrogenated castor oil, caprylic/capric triglyceride, camellia sinensis (green tea) leaf extract, methyl methylcrylate crosspolymer, polyglutamic acid, tetrasodium EDTA, retinol, hydrogenated lecithin, ethylhexylglycerin, cholesterol, biosaccharide gum-1, tocopheryl acetate, rubus idaeus (raspberry) fruit extract, BHT, punica granatum (fruit) extract, butylene glycol, phaseolus radiatus seed extract BHA, avena sativa (oat) meal extract, palmitoyl hexapeptide-12.
ingredients list
the seal on the box
the packaging: it comes in dark brown box, with description in indonesian and english on the side and ingredients list at the back of the box. they seal the top and the bottom of the box to make sure you receive a fresh product. the bottle is a dark brown glass bottle that has similar vibe with the box. if you have tried their miraculous line before, it is totally the same packaging as the refining ones, so you have to read the text carefully so you won't pick the wrong product. there are refining ones and retinol ones, so make sure you pick the retinol one. they use dropper to dispense the product and so far the dropper works really well. it comes in 30 ml which is standard size for serum.
the bottle
the dropper and the serum inside
the scent: this doesn't have added fragrance which is good especially if you have sensitive skin or you are sensitive to fragrance. it does have subtle scent probably because of the ingredients, but nothing funky or anything.
how the serum looks like on my hand
after blending it
the product: it is a cloudy white serum, quite viscous but still easy to spread around. i usually use half dropper for my whole face and neck. i started using this every other day (i don't feel the need to test this once a week then upgrade to twice a week before using it every other day mainly because i've tried retinol products before, so i know what i need to do to counteract the effect) before trying to use it daily. after being absorbed, it doesn't leave tacky feeling or anything. it doesn't pill under or over other skincare products that i used. if you're wondering about what kind of retinol in this serum, it's a special mix for avoskin. they call it actosome retinol 3% and they explained that it means 0,1% active retinol, 0,1% hexapeptide and vitamin e. so compared to the ordinary and somethinc, this is probably very mild. since this is a watery serum, i use this after toner.
left: after using it every other day for about a month
right: after using it every day for two weeks then dial back down to every other day again for two weeks
the glow came back to my face (notice the glow on my forehead)
the result: as i've said, i just start using this every other day. during the first two weeks, i start to see result on my forehead. it starts to glow just like when i was using somethinc retinol. then i start using it daily. around the same time, i changed my serums to axisy ones because i had to use them in order to write a review within time limit. i also used BHA as well. after about two weeks, my skin started to react negatively. i started to get acne here and there, and my pores clogged and i notice more skin texture than i used to have. so i started to dial down both retinol and BHA to every other day and i alternate the BHA and retinol so i don't use them in the same day. both axisy serum were gone so i'm back to using one hydrating serum and one anti aging one. now i start to see the glow on my forehead, my acne starts to diminish, though i still get acne popping here and there. so this definitely not working for preventing acne. but this works to speed up acne healing, especially for cystic acne. combined with foreo ufo, my acne shrinks faster.
progress on my right side
there were new acnes popping out but it started to fade away
progress on my left side
again, i picked my acne so it just started to heal but you can see my skin is a more glowing than before
i have to say compared to somethinc one, i notice the result from somethinc faster than avoskin. i can use somethinc daily without any problem as well, but back then i haven't used any BHA, so the result may be different now. but considering this is milder than somethinc, i think it would be suitable for people who just start using retinol. it also comes in bigger bottle than somethinc and the price is quite affordable, so if budget is one of your consideration, then this is more affordable. as for me, i still have other local retinol brands to try before deciding which one is my favorite. i have bhumi and elsheskin in my list for now. do you have any local retinol favorite? please tell me in the comment..
base makeup is something that i have difficulty to find. mostly because i don't know what my undertone is and how to find the perfect match for my shade. especially for local brand. somehow i'm too fair for local brand base product. but lately, local brand has been upping their game. either in liquid foundation form or in cushion form. anyway, somethinc launched their cushion some time ago, but at first it were only three or four shades, and none was fair enough for me. so i waited. now they added more shades and even more darker shades, so i finally have something for myself. i was torn between perle or bijoux, but since i don't know what undertone i am, i was confused even more. luckily, they have their cushion shade as one of their filter, so i try it and decided to try perle.

this is the description on their website: we go together like copy & paste. take your complexion to the next level. introduce you to the #1st local hybrid mesh cushion in indonesia! specially created for indonesian skin tone and humidity of tropical weather. with breathable technology, non-comedogenic certified (it won't clog your pores), long lasting, and lots of skincare benefits, d*mn.. our friendship will last forever!
finishing: morning healthy glow finish. coverage: medium, buildable, featherlight, and smooth.
perle: light - pink undertone (cool).
the box
back of the box
the packaging: it comes in greyish box with "somethinc" text as background pattern. you can see the shade name and color on the top label and description at the back of the box. the cushion is square, which is something new, since most cushion comes in round pact. it's also grey as well similar to the box. inside the compact, there's a mirror just like other cushion. also a square puff. the puff is placed separately just like other cushion. underneath, the cushion is covered by sticker as always. but once you peel it off, you'll see mesh cushion, and not ordinary sponge cushion. i've seen mesh cushion from korean brand, but this is the first from local brand. and it has magnetic closure. it's quite new for cushion product, and i think it's a good thing. somehow it makes it like a luxurious item.
shade name
the cushion
the shade: there are 12 shades from now, ranging from fair to dark. it might not be as diverse as western brand, but for local brand, this is quite an achievement. i pick perle which is for light skin and pink undertone. the shade is a match for me fortunately. anyway, if you're confused like me, try their filter, it totally helps.
left: the sticker on
middle: mesh cushion
right: the puff
the square pact, the mirror and the puff
close up on the mesh
the product: it's easy to push the mesh cushion and get the product to the puff. the coverage is medium, so i don't need a lot to cover all my face. i think it's buildable but i don't like super high coverage base, so i rarely double dip my puff. this cushion has added SPF, but it's only SPF 33 and you would need a lot of amount to use it as sunscreen, so using separate sunscreen is wiser. anyway, it comes in 15 grams, which is the usual size for cushion.
hand swatch
it clings onto dry patch around my nose
you can see that it has medium coverage
the result: the shade is a match for me, and it has medium coverage. it evens out my skin tone and covers redness on my face. however, it's not covering my acne scars completely, but i'm okay with it. however, it gives dewy finish. too glowy for my liking. i have to set it with powder. but i always set my base with powder anyway. as for longevity, i can't say for sure since nowadays, i only stay at home, so i don't use makeup as long as i've used to be. all i know that after two to three hours, my makeup still stay put. i don't see any creasing around my nose or anything. it doesn't look cakey as well even though i put powder on top of it. however, this clings onto dry patch around my nose. so if you have dry and flaky skin, be sure to exfoliate and to moisturize it well before using this cushion. this cushion also has added SPF, but it doesn't look weird on me. but if you have darker skin than mine, you need to look for more information before buying.
it can cover acne scars as well
here you can see it covers some spots as well

anyway, i have to say i'm very happy to find a local base makeup product that match me completely! i don't care even when it's too dewy for my liking. i like how it has medium coverage but still buildable and probably long lasting as well. and can we talk about that magnetic closure? if you're looking for a base makeup product and prefer cushion rather than regular liquid foundation, then you should try it. the price is still affordable and somethinc often has sales. it's easier to get since it's a local brand. anyway, regarding the shade, i know that 12 shades wouldn't represent everyone, but somethinc has added more shades since this cushion was first launched. and i have to say that somethinc is a brand that listen to its customer, so i bet they would add more if people demand it. for now, i guess you'll have to choose either to wait like i did, or pick whatever shades closer to yours. as for me, i will definitely purchase the refill.

i always want to try something else from TBS other than their body care. but i have no luck with their skincare. last time i bought one of their serum but ended up re-selling it. they are so pricey so until they have it in travel size, i'd probably won't try anymore. so, i decided to try their makeup products. i've tried the lip and cheek and i liked it, but i have so many in my stash, so base makeup is the only option to choose from. i don't use foundation regularly, so i decided to try the tinted moisturizer instead. i don't know what shade i should be, so i pick the lightest one hoping that it would be okay. last time i bought their base makeup, the BA at the store told me that their lightest one would be too dark for me.

this is the description on their website (i translated it since there's no similar product in the US website): ultra lightweight formulated BB cream that helps even out skin tone and diminishes pores. feels lightweight and fresh on the skin. enriched with vitamin e, community trade marula oil, and organic aloe vera that helps moisturize the skin.

back of the tube
the packaging: i bought it straight from the store, so it comes in just the tube. there's only sealing on the cap. it is a silverish gray plastic squeeze tube with black screw cap. there's description at the back of the tube in indonesian and ingredients list in english. there's a color label at front to indicate the shade, but they also put the shade name and number as well. this is only 25 ml which is an odd size for base makeup. usually foundation would come in 30 ml size.

the shade: i don't know how many shades there are, but i'm guessing just 3 or 4. mine is 01 fair, the lightest one. there's medium in the web, so i'm guessing there's a light shade and maybe a dark shade as well. shade wise, it's not enough for all skintone, but considering this is just a tinted moisturizer, it's understandable. if you're afraid you can't find your shade, you should considering trying their foundation. their foundation has better shade range.

after blending it
the product: it's quite thick and creamy. compared to my previous foundation, this one is thicker. though still creamy and still easy to spread around. the color came out not as fair as i thought it would be, but after a while, it sinks in nicely and blends quite well with my skin tone.

the result: i've tried using this with various method, finger, brush, and sponge. with sponge, i like how it blends seamlessly to my skin. but as usual, using sponge means less coverage, so it's not ideal if you're hoping more coverage. with brush, it's not easy to blend since it's quite thick and creamy and the brush leaves streak marks so it takes time to blend. however, the coverage is more than using with sponge. with finger, it's easy to spread the product around and it's fairly easy to blend since there is no brush streaks. however, i think it looks too thick, it doesn't look natural that way. the coverage is similar to using brush, so i guess it's time saving to just use your finger. as for coverage, this has sheer coverage. it only evens out my skintone, and covers a bit redness. it doesn't cover redness around my nose area and acne scars obviously. it gives semi matte finish, but i still set it with powder.
right side - it only covers a but redness but not acne scar
left side - it covers some of my dark spots

i don't know if i ever tried other tinted moisturizer than this one. so i have no comparison in my mind. compared to foundation and cushion, obviously this has less coverage. if you're hoping for a natural look, sheer coverage that only evens out skin tone, without covering any flaws like redness or scars, then tinted moisturizer might be a good option since it can be used with finger so it might be fast to use in the morning if your morning is pretty hectic. but if you're hoping for more coverage, then skip this one. i'll try joylab tinted moisturizer and compare it with this one. but until then, i'll try to finish this ASAP. price wise, i think it's still reasonable, but i think local brand is more affordable than TBS one.
