  • About me

i have to say that among local brands, somethinc and true to skin are the ones that usually their products are okay with me. most of them. more hits than misses. anyway, when i was about to finish my eye gel, i realized that i haven't tried true to skin one so i decided to buy it since i don't have anything else interesting to try.

this is the translated description from soco website: eyes on you is an eye cream with lightweight gel texture that's formulated with various main ingredients, which are tranexamic acid (TXA), multi-peptide, and bakuchiol. those key ingredients can help brighten skin area around eyes, moisten, and fade fine lines and maintain skin elasticity so skin feels soft and supple. true to skin eyes on you gives new innovation, being the first local brand that uses 360 stainless steel crystal ball.
the tube
benefit:
- eye contour improvement (elasticity)
- skin hydration around the eyes
- reduction of under eye puffiness
- reduction in eyebag volume
- reduction of dark circles
key ingredients: TXA, multipeptide, bakuchiol
description at the back
the packaging: i honestly forget whether this comes with a box or not, but i think there's box. if there's no box, then it will come wrapped in plastic sealing. anyway, the eye cream comes in a blue/purple gradient plastic tube with stainless steel crystal ball on the tip. there's an opening in the middle of the ball where the eye cream comes out from. there's description at the back of the tube. the ball is covered with a transparent plastic cap so it's safe and secure. it's 15 ml which is the normal size for an eye cream.
massager ball
the scent: of course it's unscented. it's an eye product.
how it looks like
the product: it's a milky white gel type eye cream. compared to skintific one, this one is thicker. honestly, it's been so long since i finish the eye cream before skintific, so i have no idea what else i could compare it aside from the last one that i've tried before. anyway, even though this is thicker, it's still easy to spread it around whether with finger or with the ball. speaking about the ball, it might not be as big as skintific nor vibrating, but it feels cool when it touches my skin and it massages my under eyes really good.
look how hydrating it is?
the result: this one is clearly hydrating. it melts into watery traces and it's quite lightweight. it's refreshing and it does its job. i can say that it helps maintain the skin hydration however, i don't see any help in eye puffiness. one time, i woke up feeling bloated and puffy that i have to use my eye massager to get rid of the puffiness. i can't say anything about the dark circles because my sleep habit is terrible and i didn't take any picture in the first place, so i can't compare it.

anyway, if you're looking for a lightweight eye cream with added massager attached on it, then this could be an option for you to try. even though it's not vibrating, the stainless steel ball feels cool. maybe even more if you store it in the fridge. as for me, i'm on the fence on this one. i do like it. it's lightweight. i like the massager ball especially when it's cool. and it's hydrating. but since i don't see anything else, i wonder if there's something else better out there. so for me, it might be a no. price wise, it's still affordable. availability wise, you can get this from them straight or from other seller like sociolla or other online store.

as i've said in my other post, i don't normally use concealer much, but since i got the chance to visit US, i decided to buy some concealers that's popular or being raved by people since it's my only chance to get them straight and the shade options are wider there, so yeah.. actually, i wanted to get the new UD quickie concealer but apparently, my shade is most wanted there, so i can't get one because it's sold out. so i have to pick my other choices, which are nars and kosas. the kosas one i can't get in mini size, but the nars one, i was quite lucky. it was our last day in the US and i didn't think we would walk past a sephora on our last day, but i was so wrong. when i saw there was a sephora across the street, i quickly told my husband that i would stop by real quick and luckily, i found one in my shade in mini size. at first, i was thinking it's a waste buying something that i could probably get in singapore. but when i went to singapore last time, my shade isn't available there! not even the full size one. so thank goodness that i bought mine in the US.
the box
this is the description from their website: the #1. one for all. perfection. in any situation. discover the #1- selling concealer in the US in a mini size for perfecting on the go. buildable. blendable. hydrating. radiant. coveted by artists and editors for its ability to correct, highlight, and contour. anytime. anywhere. all skin tones. keep the full size at home - mini radiant creamy concealer is ready to go.
details: mini, 1.4 g. medium, buildable coverage. radiant finish. 16-hour wear. 24 hr hydration. crease-resistant. sweat and water resistant. transfer resistant. dermatologist tested. ophthalmologist tested. non-acnegenic, won't clog pores.
madeleine - L2.3 - light with neutral undertones
another look at the box
shade name on top of the box
the packaging: it comes in the same packaging as the full size one. one side of the box has the picture of the product inside, then some description and the shade name on top of the box. the concealer is the mini version of the full size one, because it is. it has black cap with transparent plastic body so you can see the remaining product inside from the outside. the wand is attached to the cap like any other concealer. however, i think the cap felt a bit velvety on touch, but with dark color, it's easy to get messy when you get concealer smear on your hand. the doe foot applicator is tiny because this is a mini size but it's enough. in fact, i feel easier to spot conceal using the tip of the applicator. this one is 1,4 g which is approximately a quarter of the full size one. and i love it. because that means i probably can finish it.
the tube
shade name on the bottom of the tube
the color: the shade selection for the mini is as much as the full size one. all in 30 shades. mine is madeleine, which is L 2.3, light with neutral undertones. i can also use vanilla which is lighter than this one, but i want something closer to my skin tone, so madeleine it is.
the tiny wand
the product: it's creamy alright. maybe on par with kosas one? i'm not an expert in concealer as i probably only ever tried two or three. but it's easy to put on my face in spots using the applicator. the consistency is right for me. not to thick, unlike the catrice one. and not too runny that it doesn't have any coverage. on the coverage topic, the coverage is medium at best? it can easily cover redness but not all my acne scars.
swatch on my hand. yes, i know it looks darker on my arm
the result: i like this one. i've used this over hauslab foundation and the nars foundation and both works fine with this concealer. it doesn't crease and the lasting power is decent. i don't even set this with powder most of the times and it's okay. it looks natural but still does its job. i can clearly see why this one is such a best-selling concealer.
left: dotted it on my under eyes and acne scars
right: after (yeah, i'm not good at covering under eyes) look how the scar on my right cheek is still visible
i have to say i like this one. the color is a match for me even though it's darker than my nars foundation. somehow it still works, so i'm grateful for it. price wise, it's damn expensive. even the mini is still expensive. availability, nars is available here but only for several products. and the shade selection is even worse than the ones in singapore. so unless you buy it straight in the US or through a pre order system, then you might not get the shade that you want. as for me, i'm glad i bought that one! and to think that i almost didn't.
i got to visit finland last december. but seeing that we were going on tour with all kids on board, i didn't put up any list or have hope whatsoever during the trip. moreover, my last one got sick on our last day and considering it was our last free day, i was a bit lost hope of finding something for myself. but then husband told me to go walk around for a bit while he watched the kids. so i did. and my feet brought me to rituals. some girls on the tour told me they bought hand creams and body butter from them, so i decided to give them a try. and i found one tinted balm by the cashier. i was intrigued by the packaging, so i snatched one.

this is the description from their website: the fortune balm in red is a natural and ultra-nourishing tinted lip balm, enriched with shea butter and aloe vera. an exclusive blend of rich oils - including olive oil, jojoba oil and coconut oil - helps moisturize the lips, while the antioxidants in grapeseed oil and vitamin e help smooth and protect against the damaging effects of free radicals. the 100% natural formula moisturizes, protects and softens dry and damaged lips, while boosting your look with a shade of soft red.

key ingredients:
- shea butter: for hundred of years, the people of central africa have made use of the nurturing and healing properties of shea butter. it stimulates healing processes, makes your skin and lips soft and supple, and protects them from drying out.
- aloe vera: it is well known for its moisturizing, soothing, and calming properties.
the box
the packaging: it comes in a red box with descriptions and ingredients list on it. they print the shade name on top of the box. it's color-coordinated with the shade name. there are nude and pink beside red, but when i was at the store, there was only red there. and the plain one. anyway, as i've said before, i was intrigued by the packaging because it resembled a high end brand one. the tube is all red, but feels metallic instead of plastic. there's nothing on on the tube, only the shade printed on the side. then there's this small button with the logo symbol imprinted on it that you can push. if you push the tiny button, it will pop the inner tube out and then you can twist the bottom's part of the inner tube to get the tinted balm out. i'm quite impressed with the mechanism. but i can't say for sure how much similar it is to the high-end brand one as i never bought nor tried one.
the tube
the color: like i've said, there are three shades available, pink, nude, and red. mine is the red one.
the little button at the bottom is the opener
the product: it's a regular stick tinted balm type. it's quite hard compared to other tinted balm that i have in my stash. at first i was worried that it might be hard in finland but melts when i finally get home. luckily, it doesn't melt despite the hot weather here. in fact, i have to swipe it a couple more times than usual to rub off the top, like warming it up before getting the real color to show up. oh, and this one is a bit scented. there's a faint fragrant smell that my nose picks up when i use this.
how it looks like after i popped it open
the result: like i've said before, it takes a few more swipes for it to warm up so the color doesn't show up vibrant on the first swipe. it takes a few swipes before i can see the red shade. even that, the red isn't as vibrant as lipstick. which is understandable since this is a tinted lip balm so it's not supposed to give vibrant pay off. there's a subtle glow that balm usually brings, but it's very minimal. i kind of like this shade since i'm not usually into reds. this might lean into pinkish red on me. this one makes me feel like i can pull off red without being too noticeable. like a subtle red. that i can wear daily. however, this is not as moisturizing as my other tinted lip balms. it kind of reminds me to my old nyx tinted balm. at least this one is not drying afterward.
full face swatch
right: lip swatch (i swear it looks brighter and more opaque in person that on camera)
and hand swatch (again, i don't know why it looks washed out)
i have to say that i'm attracted by the packaging, but luckily, it doesn't fall short. the color is nice as well and it gives a subtle glow. not drying afterward even though it's not as moisturizing as my other ones. so if you happen to see rituals and find this one and you're interested in tinted lip balm, then you might want to try it. but otherwise, it's actually a normal tinted lip balm with a pretty packaging. as for me, i'm glad i bought it, but i won't go my way to repurchase it.

i am couple years away from being 40, so retinol should be my best friend by now. but, to my luck, i haven't found something that is ride or die for me, so i'm still trying here and there. anyway, there are a bunch of local brands that released retinol serum awhile back, so i'm buying them one by one and trying them to see if i have any luck with one of them. this time, i'm trying something from skintific.

this is the description from their website: a gentle and beginner-friendly encapsulated retinol serum made with time-released technology that effectively works for rapid results without irritating the skin. contain 3 different types of retinol that helps maintain the skin elasticity and prevent sign of aging like fine lines and wrinkles. combined with ceramide and 3d peptide that locks the moisture into the skin and significantly reduces the fine lines and wrinkles. this gel texture retinol serum is safely formulated for beginners.
benefits:
- prevent fine lines and wrinkles
- rejuvenate the skin elasticity
- restore the skin firmness without irritation
- protect the skin barrier and retain the skin moisture
- make the skin feel smooth and firm
the box
hero ingredients:
- TTE: combination of 3 different types of encapsulated retinol with time-released technology for rapid result and effectivity to prevent the sign of aging on the skin
- 5x ceramides: helps retain the moisture in the skin and prevent irritation
- 3d peptides: combination of maytixyl 3000 peptide, SKN-AKE peptide, and acetyl tetrapeptide-5 that effectively reduce the fine lines and prevent the wrinkles.
the bottle
the packaging: it comes in a gold box with description in english but there's an added sticker with indonesian description on it. there's also a complete ingredients list on the side of the box. the serum itself comes in a yellow gold plastic bottle that's completely see-through so i can see the remaining product inside from the outside. it has a gold plastic pump head covered with a transparent plastic cap. there's another label on the bottle. it comes in 20 ml which is the normal size of most local brands serum, but less than the usual serum on the market.
the pump head
the scent: i was bracing myself to get a foul scent that i usually get with unscented retinol serum, but apparently, this one is scented. it's quite fragrant, in fact. but not too overwhelming. it doesn't last that long but it's still noticeable especially when i just put it on my face.
can you see the gold flecks?
the product: the serum is a transparent gel type serum with gold flecks in it. it might look gold/yellowish in the bottle, but in reality, it's clear. almost clear. it's quite runny so it's easy to spread it around. however, i'm not entirely sure that if i don't rub it in properly, the gold flecks won't melt. it takes more than a couple seconds for it to be absorbed, but it doesn't mess with other products that i layer on top of it.
see what i mean with rubbing it hard until the gold flecks melt?
the result: this is marketed as a gentle retinol. and i'm not quite sure how gentle it will be. most of the retinol that i've used are marketed as gentle. but not all of them are gentle enough to be used daily. anyway, i used this twice a week most of the time. but that doesn't do anything for me. then i use it every other day and i started to see some changes. during period, i still get acne, but it's controllable and not as severe as it used to be. but it's not remarkable. it works. but just okay, i guess.

anyway, i have to agree that this one is really gentle. i don't experience any dryness despite using it every other day. and it works in keeping my acne at bay, though not completely prevent it. as for other effects, it's not that noticeable so i can't say for sure about the other effect. price wise it's still considered affordable, though maybe not so much with the 20 ml size. availability wise, it's quite easy to get your hands on skintific products. as for me, i don't think it's remarkable enough for me to repurchase it. so, i'll pass for now.

ever since i saw innisfree launched this black tea series, i wanted to try the essence and the ampoule especially. anyway, i'm quite disappointed in the essence but i still have high hopes for the ampoule so let's see how this one goes. even though i decided at the end to buy the cream as well, but let's talk about the ampoule for now.

this is the description from their US website: a lightweight, powerhouse serum infused with antioxidant-rich black tea, hyaluronic acid and niacinamide that helps soothe and instantly deliver a smoother, healthier, and more glowing complexion to keep cranky skin happy. a lightweight and antioxidant rich serum to help protect, improve dullness, and prove anti-aging benefits for a nourished and soothed complexion!
key ingredients:
- black tea reset concentrate: antioxidant protection, youth-enhancing properties, improves radiance
- 3 step moisture capsules: hyaluronic acid + ceramide capsulized with squalane to hydrate
- niacinamide: to visibly brighten
- glycerin: provides deep moisture
the box and descriptions on it
the packaging: all the products in the black tea line comes in brown packaging, including the ampoule. it comes in a brown box that's made of recycled paper with description and ingredients list in korean, but since i bought it here, there's another label printed with the short description in indonesian. the ampoule comes in gradiant black brown glass bottle with description at the back of the bottle with a dropper to dispense the product. the dropper is quite long, almost as tall as the bottle. i have a bit problem with the dropper though. i have to pinch it for a couple seconds before it picks up a dropper full of product. if i only pinch it for a second, then not much will get sucked into the dropper. but yeah, aside from that problem, i don't have any complain with it. this one comes in 30 ml, which is the regular size of any serums, but i think they have a bigger size, 50 ml.
the bottle
the scent: once again, this one also doesn't have a black tea scent in it, but there's a scent, very subtle, but i won't say that it's a tea scent. i don't know how i should describe it since i'm bad at describing scent.
the dropper
the product: it's a milky white gel type serum that's slightly viscous. it's a bit thick that i have to pinch the dropper for around two to three seconds so i can pull out a full dropper size of serum. otherwise, i only get a drop of serum. anyway, even though it's a bit viscous, it's still easy to spread it around. it doesn't melt into watery traces though.
the serum on my hand
the result: up the bat i can feel it's moisturizing for my skin. it might be too heavy for in the morning for me, but perhaps in winter time, it would be okay even for the mornings. anyway, i've read somewhere that many people think that this one is anti-aging one. in fact, this one is not marketed anti-aging. but more like antioxidant with elasticity benefit. the one for anti aging is from different range. anyway, i do believe that this one is somewhat in the middle. it's thicker than my usual hydrating serum, but not as thick as the one that's promoted as anti-aging. so far, it works okay to combat the dryness effect from AHA/BHA serum or retinol serum that i used alternately.
after blending it
however, i'm a bit disappointed that this one doesn't smell like tea. unlike fresh one. however, i do like this one better than the essence. will still see the cream one before deciding which one is my favorite items from the line. yeah sure they also have the toner and lotion, but i've tried the sample at the store and i'm not interested in trying them, so yeah... no. anyway, i think this might be suitable for all skin types, especially for those in the 20s or 30s who wants to maintain skin elasticity. price wise, thanks to the currency, it's quite expensive. even with discount. i think it might be more affordable if you buy it straight in korea, but if you grab it here, at least buy when it's on sale. or in a set that offers GWP or other gimmicks. as for me, i don't think i'd repurchase mainly because i know i'll be going to korea and i have a bunch of stuff that i want to buy there and try. so yeah, not gonna repurchase this one for now.

who doesn't want a glowing skin? obviously everyone, including me. so when i heard that people get good result from this serum, obviously i want to try. i want to see whether this serum worths the hype. however, i can't see how i could fit this serum into my routine, so it was in my stash for awhile until i have to go to finland. i decided to bring it with me to finland as a hydrating and brightening serum all at once. anyway, i've been using this mainly when i was traveling and finishing it off at home when it's nearly finished. i've actually formed my thoughts when i was halfway through, but i thought i would try it for some more before putting it into writing.. but here i am, writing down my thoughts when i've finished it.

this is the translated description from their website: smoothes texture and diamond glow skin. vegan serum with real diamond and swiss alps stem cells that's popularized as syahrini's serum skincare that helps make skin soft and glowing, accelerates skin layers rejuvenation, as well as fights early aging signs like wrinkles and enlarged pores. this somethinc serum is a facial serum that's equipped with 4-MSK diamond bright molecule and guaiazulene that helps brighten, smoothen, and even out skin tone, soothe redness. this diamond serum powered with the latest drone technology that works effectively to make the brightening active ingredient work specifically on target. skin looks tight and glowing in 4 weeks.
the box and the descriptions on it
powered with:
- diamond: works to produce soft focus effect to camouflage wrinkles, pores and even out skin tone. diamond is also able to make skin glow naturally so skin looks glowing and radiant.
- swiss alps stem cell: from a rare plant that only grows in swiss alps. able to increase stem cells in the skin up to 80%, accelerate a healthier skin layers regeneration, camouflage wrinkles and protects from damage from uv rays and free radicals.
- drone technology: algae (chlorella vulgaris) that's encapsulated and increases the bond in target cells. clinically proven to brighten the skin in two weeks, makes skin glowier in 4 weeks and strengthen dermis layer.
- 4-MSK: works in 2 ways, by inhibiting the formation of melanin in the skin and by lightly exfoliating. that's why, 4MSK is able to brighten and soften skin without irritation.
- guaiazulene: a natural derivate from a more stabile azulene. has an antioxidant and antiinflammation properties to protect skin from free radicals, soothes skin, and helps prevent acne from forming. it's also a natural coloring that's not irritating the skin.
the bottle
the packaging: it comes in a white/blue box with the picture of the full size product at front. there's description and ingredients list printed on the sides and back of the box. there's another description printed on the bottle but the text is hella tiny, so i don't bother reading it. anyway, the serum is coming in a holographic glass bottle that looks blue because the serum inside is blue. anyway, i found out later that it's actually see through and i can see the remaining serum from the outside. the serum is dispensed by the white pump head and you can actually twist the pump head to turn it off and on. unfortunately, there's no marker on it so you have to be careful and remember whether you've closed it or not. it comes in 20 ml which is the regular size of most somethinc serum.
the pump head
the scent: it has this fruity acidic scent but a bit floral as well. which i don't know where it comes from. anyway, the scent is noticeable though not too overwhelming. but if you prefer a completely scent free serum, then you might want to skip this.
how it looks like on my hand
the product: the serum is a blue thick lotion type serum and it's opaque blue. not just bluish, but really really blue. if you're worried, they clearly stated that it's because of the guaiazulene that's completely natural so it won't stain your hands or face. even though it's thick, it's easy to spread around but it doesn't melt into watery traces.
after blending it
the result: this is definitely moisturizing, so i can use it as a moisturizing serum as well. but not as moisturizing as the ones that are being marketed as anti-aging serums out there. however, as for the brightening effect that people gloat about, i didn't see it. let me remind you that i'm also using vitamin c serum in the morning and this serum in the afternoon. and i don't notice the difference between using the vitamin c alone and in combination with this serum. sadly, i think i get random breakouts when i used this serum. i don't know what might cause it, so yeah..

sadly to say that apparently this serum is not for me. i didn't see the hype working for me. and sadly i get random breakouts as well. so yeah, no repurchase this serum for me. however, if you think you might be suitable for this serum, then get it. it's not expensive and they offer several sizes ranging from 5ml, 20ml and a bigger size one. and i also think that it will be suitable for all skin types.

going to japan means sunscreen-hoarding time. they a lot of sunscreen and most of them are win in my book, so every time i go to japan, i always buy a lot. this time is no exception. even though at first i can't seem to find something new to try, but near my departure day, i found a lot of sunscreens to try. anyway, i never bother to search about them beforehand, i just bought whatever caught my eyes. anyway, i never heard about this because there's another biore sunscreen that's on the hype at the same time, so this one didn't get the same attention. anyway, i'm not picky, so i picked this one as well to see how it goes.
the packaging
description at the back
this is the description from their website: a gentle formulation sunscreen with dual protection barrier against harmful UV rays and pollutants. it's developed with anti-pollution shield technology, once applied this sunscreen, it forms a long lasting, powerfully protective skin strengthening barrier against environmental stressors such as dust, pollutant impurities PM 2.5 and pollens. this moisturizing and lightweight essence type sunscreen is mask-friendly and spreads easily with non-greasy feeling upon application and great enough as makeup base. this moisturizing and lightweight essence type sunscreen equips with board spectrum protection SPF 50+ PA ++++ that made ideal for daily use and suitable for most skin types.
the tube
the packaging: it comes with the usual packaging, cardboard backing that contains all the description in japanese and plastic sealing to cover the sunscreen tube. the sunscreen itself comes in silver plastic tube with light blue flip top. another description in japanese at the back of the tube. this one is 60 g which is okay considering the texture of the sunscreen. compared to local sunscreen, this one is almost doubled the size.
another description at the back of the tube
the scent: i can't pick any distinctive scent from this sunscreen. it doesn't smell citrusy like the usual biore sunscreen nor the usual sunscreen scent. but if i sniff really close, i think i can smell faint baby powder scent from this sunscreen.
the flip top
the product: it's a white cream type sunscreen. it's a bit thick than my usual sunscreen, but it's easy to spread around, so no complaint there. anyway, it's a bit thicker than what i've used to use, and i believe this is the thickest biore sunscreen that i've tried. anyway, once i spread it around, it does have a bit white cast but it vanishes quickly after rubbing it for another few seconds.
how it looks like on my hand
the result: once it's settled down, it feels moisturizing and a bit tacky but not too much. it makes my skin a bit glowy but not too much. nothing more than a tinted moisturizer-like. protection wise, i think it works since i don't get my skin burnt since it's been hot where I live when I tried this sunscreen. Like scorching hot. anyway, it's marketed toward sensitive skin and i don't have sensitive skin, so i can't say whether it's true. but i had acnes when i used this and it doesn't mess with my acnes, so i think it's gentle enough for even sensitive skin to use.
how it looks like after blending it
among all biore sunscreens that i've tried, this might not be the worst, but it's not my favorite either. i don't know why.. but i prefer something more lightweight. though this one is quite surprising. it's not as heavy as it looks. anyway, if you're confused with the whole reformulation thing of the famous biore watery uv essence and gel that happens every three years, then this might be a good option for you since this might be the first option and i don't think there's another version of this one. anyway, this is not available here where i live and i don't know whether you can find this online, so availability wise, i can't say anything. price wise, it's affordable. just like any other biore sunscreens, they're all affordable. the only cons is you might have to get it straight from japan. as for me, i don't think i'd repurchase this one, but i think it'll suitable for all skin types, especially the normal to dry skin one. try it if you want to, if you can get your hands on it.
actually, i wasn't looking to upgrade my foreo, but a friend was asking for recommendation, so i had to find information to help her decided which one to buy. automatically, my phone put my search in the logarithm so the next time i opened my phone, i saw the advertisement for foreo and found out that there's a new foreo luna 4! obviously, i'm hooked and found out that they launched foreo luna 4, luna 4 plus, luna 4 mini, luna 4 body and luna 4 go. i was torn in between luna 4 plus or luna 4, especially since luna 4 plus still has the pink color (my old foreo is pink), while the luna 4 changes their color line up. the pink one is now orange/peach. anyway, after thinking about it, i decided to just get the luna 4. after all, i've already had the luna bear and luna ufo. i bought the balanced skin one, which is the replacement for the normal skin type.

treatments: choose between 4 pre-programmed massage routines and simply follow video instructions. start cleansing and start massage feature mirror mode, which allows you to use your mobile device as a mirror while performing the cleansing or massage treatments.

the packaging: it comes in a transparent hard plastic box. there's a small box underneath the curve that's meant to place foreo luna 4. inside the box, there's a travel pouch, mini booklet, and a guarantee card as well as the usb cable charger. there's description on the slip around the box that's connected to the small box at the bottom. since it's transparent, you can see the foreo luna 4 from the outside.

the product: there are 3 types of luna 4 that you can choose from. the sensitive one (purple), the balanced skin (orange/peach), the combination (green). mine is the balanced skin one. since i have foreo luna 2, obviously there are a lot of differences between those two. luna 4 is noticeably lighter than luna 2. the bristles area is wider and the bristles itself is softer, much softer than luna 2. in foreo luna 2, there's only 1 cleansing mode with 10 intensity, while luna 4 has 3 cleansing mode with 16 intensity. in foreo luna 2, there's only one massaging mode that i rarely used at the end because i don't see nor feel any difference after using it. however, in luna 4, there are 3 massaging mode, 4 pre-programmed massaging mode and 5 different types of massage. there's also a new lock feature when you bring it with you during traveling so you don't end up pressing the on/off button accidentally while it's inside your bag.

- cleansing mode: the bristles are designed differently depends on the type of the skin. for sensitive skin, all bristles are soft and small. while the combination skin, the bristles are slightly bigger but it's uniform all around the device. while the balanced skin has bigger bristles on top while the bottom one is smaller. there are 3 cleansing mode, the regular one, gentle, and deep cleansing mode. you can set the modes from your phone when you first set up your foreo, but then you can use it without your phone afterward. you only need to push once on the on/off button and it will automatically use the regular cleansing mode and you have to push the gentle/deep cleansing mode button to change the type. however, only the regular mode that has the reminder for each part while the gentle and the deep options don't have. it only gives warning at the end when it's finished.

- message mode: there are 4 pre-programmed treatment in the apps and you only need to open the apps to see the instructional videos and follow it. but you can also use the massage mode without your phone. there are only 3 modes, gentle, regular and deep if you want to use without the phone. there are also 5 different types of massaging mode that you can pick from, so there are a lot of massaging options now. you can also set the duration from 1 minute to 15 minute max, if i'm not mistaken.

the result: as for the cleansing mode, obviously it works well. but i like how there are options now. the gentle one is really gentle, while the deep cleansing one is vigorous. however, i've been loving the massage mode. since i'm getting the luna 4, i've been using the massage mode regularly. i like how there are a lot of options to choose to, from the pre-programmed to the free setting one. few days ago, my jaw has been hurting because i ate only on one side since i was afraid to broke my molar again. that took a toll on my jaw. then i decided to massage it with my foreo and it worked! i also like the lock feature since the new button seems to be a lot more responsive than the old one. i don't need the lock version and it's okay when i bring it with me during traveling, but the new luna 4 seems to be a little bit sensitive. even when i pat dry the device, sometimes i end up pushing the on/off button accidentally.

i'm very happy with my upgrade since it is very different from my luna 2. the upgrade is quite noticeable from luna 2. however, i'm a bit disappointed that there's no pink in the color line up. but it's just a minor issue. if you're planning to buy foreo device, you need to figure out what your skin need. if you only need cleansing mode and you don't like massaging too much, and you want to pick the color of your device rather than your skin type, then you should pick the mini one since it's solely for cleansing and doesn't have the massage mode. or the luna go if you want something even smaller. but if you want something for cleansing and massaging, then i suggest you invest in the luna 4. for me, i already have ufo and bear, that's why the luna 4 plus doesn't appeal much to me. but if you have aging skin and doesn't have ufo or bear, and doesn't like having a lot of tools in your stash, then you should get the luna 4 plus. foreo luna is obviously expensive, but it's a good investment. i bought my first luna 2 three, almost four years ago and i never regret buying it in the first place. but if you want to save some money, wait until the pretty dates like 11.11 or 12.12 because they often have sales on those dates, as well as black friday.
my friend has been recommending this sunscreen for me to try. i still had my skintific sunscreens at that time, but there was a gap in between the skintific and my next japan trip, so i decided to buy this and fss one. and this one arrives just in time. my previous sunscreen was gone when i went to the US that i had to buy elf one while i was there. i didn't want to bring the elf one to japan, so i opened this one for my japan trip.

there's nothing written on their page about this sunscreen. even their official marketplace only has a bit of explanation. this is what i manage to get: sunscreen with 10.000 ppm jeju cactus extract from korea. 2% niacinamide, SPF 50 PA++++, UVA UVB protection. watery texture. easy to absorbs. non greasy.

the packaging: it comes in yellow and green box which is in similar vibe with the tube. the sunscreen itself comes in light green plastic squeeze tube with yellow screw cap to cover the spout that dispenses the sunscreen. there's no description at the back of the tube, but there's an ingredients list printed at the back of the tube. however, i'm quite surprised to see that this only comes in 30 ml. it's just as small as the skintific ones. so sad.. i brought this with me to japan for my holiday and i almost finish it there. so, be mindful about the size.
the tube
the scent: i don't think this has specific sunscreen's scent so i'm okay with it.
ingredients list at the back
the product: the sunscreen is a gel-cream type of sunscreen that's easy to spread around. it's a bit thick so it doesn't run down on my face and hand when i put it on.
the spout

the result: once i spread it around, it takes a few second for it to settle down, but once it's settled down, there's no white cast left. it feels comfortable and lightweight.
top: how it looks like on my arm
bottom: after blending it - no white cast
this one is lightweight, doesn't leave white cast and comfortable to use all day. even though it's hot and humid, somehow this one manages to withstand the weather. however, since it's quite thick, even though i don't need as much as the previous sunscreen, somehow i go through this one pretty fast because i use this for my face, neck and arms. anyway, 30 ml is too little for sunscreen in my opinion. but again, if you don't have any problem with it, then go ahead. this one is a good option for a tropical weather. but if you want something that's more worth for the buck, then there are other options that are as cheap but comes in bigger size than this one. for me, definitely won't repurchase mainly because the size is too small.
