  • About me
azarine just released several new moisturizers and even though i wanted to try them straightaway right after they were released, i can't because i have a pile in my stash. however, as i go through them quickly, i can finally buy them. there are three of them but i only interested in two. however, i made a mistake and bought two sets instead of just one. oh well. let's hope i can finish them all.
the box
this is the translated description from their website: azarine intense luminous barrier moisturizer is a day and night moisturizer that is easily absorbed into the skin to treat skin barrier, makes skin looks fresh and helps even out skin tone. benefit: brightening and pore tightening, regulates dehydrated skin's excess oil production.
the jar
description at the back
the packaging: it comes in a light green box with white combination. they give different color combinations for different type. for this one it's green and white. the color combo is applied to the jar as well. the moisturizer comes in a green plastic jar with white plastic screw cap. there's this plastic lid inside with a mini spatula on top of it. however, the lid that's supposed to cover to prevent the moisturizer comes in contact with the air is slightly too small. the outer part doesn't reach to rim so it's hard to lift it off if there's still a bit of moisturizer stuck onto the sides. and the spatula is too small as usual. this one comes in 30 g which is a regular size for a moisturizer.
the separator and the mini spatula
the scent: i don't think this one is scented but this doesn't have foul scent as well.
how it looks like inside the jar
the product: it's a cloudy white gel type moisturizer. the consistency is very lightweight. slightly a bit viscous than somethinc supple or elsheskin blue one. it's easy to spread it around and pretty quick to be absorbed as well.
how it looks like on my hand
the result: after it's completely absorbed, it doesn't leave any tacky feeling whatsoever. in fact, one day i let it dry down completely, and it doesn't leave any trace. it doesn't look like i'm putting anything on my face. like it vapors into the air. anyway, this is very lightweight but still hydrating. however, the weather has been so hot this past week that i feel this is not enough. i start to feel my skin dry out a little bit.
after spreading it around
this one is really lightweight but still gives a bit of hydration. however, i can't say for the other benefits. all i can say that it is clearly not suitable for dry skin. probably normal skin as well. i doubt my skin can handle it anymore if the days keep this hot. availability wise, this is easy to get as this is a local brand's product. this is very affordable as well. as for me, i don't hate this one, but i don't love it either. perhaps because it feels similar to other products that i've tried before and this one doesn't have a special point about it, so it lacks the sparks point. i won't repurchase this one unfortunately.
okay, once again, i will remind you that when i bought this toner, it was before the whole controversy arose. however, i already had my doubt about it and decided that after my last purchase, i wouldn't buy anything else from them. i have 50-50 chance with their products so somehow i became reluctant to try anything new from them. anyway, let's try this toner.
the box with its description and ingredients list
this is the description from their official marketplace channel: formulated with centella asiatica, it is designed to care for acne-prone skin and help reduce the appearance of new breakouts on the face. it has a lightweight and refreshing texture that easily absorbs without causing a greasy sensation. it aids in controlling excess oil and is enriched with ectoin and panthenol to soothe the skin. specifically formulated for acne-prone and sensitive skin.
the bottle
the packaging: it comes in sage green box with description and ingredients list on the back and sides of the box. this time, there's no telling where it was made but they clearly stated that this one is imported and the company name is clear that it was a foreign company. anyway, the toner comes in a green plastic bottle that's transparent so you can see the remaining product inside. the screw cap is opaque green. the opening of the bottle is big enough to pour the toner onto my palm. it comes in 80 ml which is not much for a toner but it's a decent size. they seal the opening with white plastic stopper but you can pull it out. the opening is big enough to pour out the toner.
the seal
the scent: this one is unscented but if i sniff closely, i think i can smell the distinct smell that other cica products have. like medicinal stuff. but very subtle.
the opening
the product: it's a transparent watery toner. it looks like water and feels like water. it's really lightweight and very quick to absorbed. it doesn't leave any tacky feeling or whatsoever after being absorbed.
how it looks like
the result: this one is a so-so product. it's hydrating but not much. but considering how hot these past few days, it is suitable for the weather since it's quickly absorbed not doesn't leave any sticky feeling. it's very lightweight as well so it sinks in quickly. my skin has been reacting badly after my two weeks travel, however once i put on a purifying mask and using this toner, somehow it calms down a bit.
after patting it
i think this is a lightweight toner that will suitable for oily skin much better than other skin types. as for helping to reduce acne, i can't say for sure, but i can say that it helps calming down my skin but not entirely prevent acne from popping out again. even though it's nice, i don't think i'd repurchase this one. there are other toners that are similar to this one so i won't worry about finding something similar to this. anyway, it's affordable so if you want to try this and think that it will suitable for you then go ahead. as for me, i won't repurchase.
When i saw people reviewing saturday looks moisturizers, i was excited to try them. I was torn between the green or the blue one. But at that time, I was worried that my skin would dry out due to the retinol and the acid that i was regularly using, so i decided to try the hyaluronic acid one, and apparently, I do like it. As I have this weird habit of buying at least two items in one purchase order, i decided to buy the serum as well. Considering that I like the moisturizer, I have high hope that my skin will like this as well.
This is the translated description from their marketplace channel: serum with gel texture that’s easy to absorb on the face without leaving tacky feeling. Suitable for normal to dry skin. Focus on hydrating and repairing skin barrier.
the box
The packaging: this one comes in light blue box with a short description and ingredients list at the back. They don’t seal the box with plastic and sticker so it’s easy to take it out of the box. The serum comes in a light blue (the same color as the box) glass bottle with dropper head. However, the dropper is different. It was similar to kiehl’s and my previous kitschy serum. However, the button on top of the dropper is softer than kitschy one so it’s easier to press this one. It comes in 25 ml which is slightly less than the usual serum size, but somehow it feels like a lot less than it’s supposed to be.
ingredients list
The scent: this one is scentless without any funny scent due to its ingredients.
the bottle
The product: this is exactly just as described, a transparent gel type serum. It’s a bit viscous but it’s still runny enough so it's easy to spread around. I usually use one full dropper and sometimes a bit more if I feel my skin need more hydration, which is a lot lately. This feels slick and easy to glide over my skin.
ingredients list on the bottle
The result: this one takes a bit longer to be absorbed but as promised, it doesn’t leave any tacky feeling. It gives a bit of glow afterward, but it totally depends on my skin condition. If my skin is too dry, then it will turn matte afterward. But if it’s okay, then the glow will stay for a bit.
how the dropper looks
left: how it looks like
right: after spreading it around
I’m glad that my skin loves this one as well but I do wish that this comes in a bigger size as I go through it like no time. It works well with my other skincare products and doesn’t pill. It works like it’s supposed to and it’s affordable as well. I think this might be suitable for all skin type, even the oily one as this is quite lightweight. Short story, I just hope they upsize the size and I will be happy to repurchase it.
i knew i still have some sunscreens that i bought in japan, but i can't resist not to buy new sunscreen. there are some suncreens from local brand that i haven't tried but i decided to just buy one more. there's this new matte sunscreen from carasun and i decided to buy that one first. i've tried the solar one, the one that comes in yellow packaging and it's quite interesting, so i wanted to see whether this one comes in similar format or not.

this is the translated description from their official marketplace channel: sunscreen with SPF 50+ PA++++. maximum protection from UVA and UVB for the skin. contains kaolin clay from tropical country, this sunscreen can help control oil and give shine-free look for 12 hours. contains rice extract to give skin nutrition, prevent acne, and quick to absorbed into the skin without feeling tacky. formulated without alcohol and suitable for sensitive skin.
the box
the packaging: this comes in a dark green box with yellow tab on the side. there are descriptions and ingredients list at the back of the box. the sunscreen comes in the same color as the box. dark green plastic squeeze tube with white plastic flip top. it comes in 30 ml which is not much for a sunscreen. pretty sure i can finish this in no time. one of the reason why i was confident in buying this one despite still have some in my stash. anyway, i have no complaint about the packaging. i just wish it comes in bigger size.
description and ingredients list
the scent: actually, i've already forgotten how it smells like. in my mind, i remembered this has a subtle fresh/citrusy scent. but i might be wrong. i was testing several sunscreens in a row so my brain couldn't keep up. anyway, nothing weird and nothing overpowering either so whether it's scentless or has subtle scent, it's not a problem.
the tube
description at the back
the product: the yellow one has unique texture, being advertised as airy as cloud. so i wonder if the green one is the same. however, it's not completely the same. it does feel airy just like the yellow one, but this one is more creamy than the yellow one. however, both comes in white cream and this one is a bit thicker. but it's still easy to spread around and it's quick to absorbed, just as promised.
the flip top
the result: while the yellow one might feels a bit heavy on normal to oily skin, this one surprisingly leaves matte finish after completely absorbed and it feels lightweight. this one really leaves matte finish which i really appreciate especially during hot and sweaty weather. as for the protection, this works okay since i don't experience sunburn or anything.
top: how it looks like
bottom: after completely absorbed
this is completely a win for me. however, i still wish that it comes in bigger size since 50 ml is too little. if you're looking for a matte finish local brand sunscreen, then i do recommend this one. as for the price, i forgot how much this is, but it's still in the affordable range. though maybe not as cheap as azarine ones, but still.. affordable. definitely putting this in my repurchase list if i ever run out of sunscreen to try.
this might be the last item that i finally tried from this set. anyway, if you haven't known yet, i bought this set during holiday around last year or so? inside this set, i've tried the a passioni in their original packaging, so i don't know if they've changed the formula or just the packaging. but everything else.. i haven't tried them so it's a good thing i bought this set. i also get to try the TLC framboos which is usually not included in any other set. i've heard good reviews about the TLC, so i hope it works for me too.
the box
this is the description from sephora singapore: a skincare box set featuring a cleanser, retinol cream, mask and exfoliator for hydrated, smooth skin. this skincare box feature 4 products to help keep your skin hydrated and smooth looking.
what's inside the set:
- beste no.9 jelly cleanser 60 ml
- a passioni 10 ml
- f-balm 15 ml
- tlc framboos 15 ml
descriptions and ingredients list at the back
this is the description for the TLC framboos: formulated with your dream team of glycolic, tartaric, lactic, citric, and salicylic acid and blended with raspberry extract and horse chestnut, TLC framboos curbs excess oiliness as it reveals greater clarity and luminosity. it also enhances the performance of other products by clearing the way for maximum absorption. TLC famboos sinks in easily and delivers an effective level of chemical exfoliation without harsh side effects, like dryness or sensitization. go from a drab complexion to an absolutely luminous one, practically overnight.
everything inside the set
TLC framboos AHA blend: glycolic plus tartaric (T), lactic acid (L), and citric (C) acids exfoliate built-up dead skin cells, resurfacing dull, uneven skin for a smoother, brighter, more even-looking complexion.
- salicylic acid (BHA): loosens sebum to unclog pores while soothing skin.
- raspberry fruit extract: rehydrates and soothes skin while fighting free radical damage with antioxidants.
- cactus extract: calms and soothes redness and sensitivity that results from exposure to topical AHAs.
- horse chestnut: helps soothe skin while providing potent free-radical defense
- galactoarabinan: this polysaccharide extracted from larch trees acts as a gentle exfoliant and minimizes the appearance of fine lines while helping inhibit moisture loss.
- buddleja davidii meristem cell culture: these plant-derived cells with potent antioxidant properties help defend against photo damage and oxidative stress.
- virgin marula oil: this super-absorbable oil, high in critical antioxidants and omegas 6 and 9, helps moisturize, nourish, and rejuvenate skin for a youthful glow.
- white tea leaf extract: potent antioxidant that provides soothing benefits.
- sodium hyaluronate crosspolymer: with a smaller molecular weight than hyaluronic acid, this ingredient is able to deeply penetrate skin, delivering excellent hydration and reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles while promoting firmness.
- yeast extract: brightens and reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, helping to minimize skin stress.
the bottle
the packaging: since i bought this in a set, it comes in a hard box, with purple, orange and neon green dominated the color palette. you can see the picture of all the products inside at the back and then the list of everything and ingredients list at the back and on the sides in various languages. the serum itself comes in the mini size of the full size. everything looks like the full size one. all drunk elephants serum comes in white plastic bottle with different color head according to the type. for TLC, the bottle is in block shape and the head is fuchsia. you can twist the top part to reveal the pump head and twist it back down to completely tuck the pump head so it's secure. there's description at the back of the bottle in english and french as well as the ingredients list if i'm not mistaken. the mini size is 15 ml which is half of the full size serum so it's quite generous for a mini size. especially since i don't need to use much and only use this twice a week to every other day.
description and ingredients list
the scent: this one is unscented but obviously there's a little scent because of the ingredients. but it's not bothering me.
the twisted pump head
the product: it's a transparent gel type serum that's easy to spread around. i only need a little for my whole face, but considering this is an exfoliating serum, i focuse more on T-zone before putting it on my cheeks. i avoid using it on my neck because based on my experience, sometimes the acid can be too strong for my neck area so i rarely use it on my neck.
how it looks like on my hand
the result: so far, avoiding my neck area works well for my skin. it doesn't irritate my skin that way. and only using it at night for every two to three days work for my skin. after using it, i notice that the bumps reduce visibly overnight. but for more stubborn acne, it takes a while for it to be gone. but so far, for smaller bumps and uneven skin, it works like a real miracle overnight. overall, this works well for my skin but i still take a great precaution to put on moisturizing serum afterward to prevent drying.
after spreading it around
i'm quite surprised to see that this one works well. drunk elephant acids are pretty strong, so i was afraid at first. but apparently, taking some precautions like avoiding my neck area and using it only twice or three times a week and always follow up with a moisturizing serum works well for me. i think if you want to try an exfoliating serum, this one is on the stronger side, so make sure to hydrate and moisturize afterward to prevent dryness and over-exfoliate. start slow. pay attention to your skin's condition. but, this one is on the pricey side but luckily, they offer them in set like this, so if you want to try them, maybe try them in a set. as for me, i'm glad i get the chance to try it and would consider repurchasing it, but only if i have the budget since it's quite expensive.
i didn't realize that i almost ran out of cleanser, so i started to search for new things to try. unfortunately, the ones in the market are not that new to me. at least i know of them and don't like them to try or i don't have the interest to try. i like to try some underrated brands but some of them don't have any cleansers in their products line up. so i decided to try some from azarine. i quite like some of their serum, so i hope i can find a decent cleanser from them.

this is the translated description from their website: vitamin c rich deep cleanser. a fresh, moist and creamy facial wash to help brighten and cleanse skin from various dirts and makeup residue. with natural AHA and BHA ingredients to help lift dirts and moist the skin. with 5 natural extracts from papaya, lemon, mulberry, yogurt and jicama can help brighten and nourish facial skin so it looks fresher, brighter and smoother.

the packaging: it doesn't come in any boxes. the facial wash comes in yellow/white plastic squeeze tube with flip top. there's description at the back of the tube in indonesian as well as the ingredients list. there's nothing special about the packaging, just a regular facial wash. it comes in. .. so it's not much.
the packaging
the scent: i don't think this one is scented and luckily it doesn't smell weird either.
description and ingredients list at the back
the product: the cleanser is a yellowish gel type cleanser. the color is quite vibrant but it doesn't stain. it's quite thick and low foaming. even with my foreo, it doesn't produce much foam. i've tried to adjust the amount, but it doesn't matter either.
flip top
the result: after washing it off, it doesn't leave any reside feeling nor feel stripping either. i don't feel it drying my skin after regular use. however, i also don't feel that this one is moisturizing either. unlike several other face was that i've tried, this one feels... nothing. but it does the work. however, it's marketed as a brightening facial cleanser, but after rinsing it off, i don't see the brightening effect.
how it looks like on my foreo
it's sad that it doesn't work as good as other brightening cleanser that i've tried before. other cleanser that i've tried really brighten my face after i rinse it off, but that wasn't the case with this one. so, this feels just like any other ordinary facial cleanser. i think it's suitable for all skin types, but since it doesn't work as it's supposed to do, i recommend you to try something else.

ever since i saw the ads of this product, i wanted to try it. however, the price is quite expensive. so i didn't want to buy it through a preorder system. fortunately, i got the chance to go to the US and i found it in sephora! i didn't want to break my wallet, so instead of buying the full size one, i bought the mini one instead. so, let's see whether the raved reviews are true.

this is the description from their website: a leave-in treatment mask that works on the molecular level to reverse hair damage in just 4 minutes. the k18 peptide is clinically proven to repair damage from bleach+color, chemical services and heat - with immediate and lasting results to restore strength, softness, smoothness and bounce to hair.
- takes damage repair further - reconnects both polypeptide chains (and a result, also reconnects disulfide bonds) for strength along the length + width of the hair - offering comprehensive, lasting damage repair.
- restores hair from even extreme damage - by working at the innermost layer of the hair, core strength and elasticity are renewed for strength, smooth, bouncy hair.
- delivers immediate and lasting results - hair is repaired from the first use and lasts past your next wash, for ongoing reparative benefits.
- simplified repair - convenient, leave-in formula works in just 4 minutes, with no extra rinse required
- works on all hair types - because k18peptide works on a molecular level (where all hair is the same), this product is effective on all hair types
the box
The packaging: it comes in a white box with red combination. There are a lot of descriptions on the sides and back of the box in english and french. And the ingredients list as well. The leave in mask comes in a white plastic bottle with pump head that’s covered with the same white plastic cap. I bought the mini size, which is just 15 ml. I believe there are bigger sizes, but i’m not sure how big they are. The pump works well and it squirts the right amount of product as well, so no complaint about the pump. However, you might want to keep the opening clean from product residue as it can dry up inside the opening and thus blocking the opening.
the bottle
The scent: this one smells floral? But it’s enjoyable and not annoying at all.
description at the back
The product: it’s a white thick lotion type. Learning from my past mistake, this time i read the instruction carefully first before using it. The instruction says to use one or two pumps before adding more. So i do. I use one or two pumps for most of my hair and add one more pump for the rest because there are some strands that i can’t reach. It’s easy to spread it around and it doesn’t make my hair feels greasy or anything.
the opening
The result: i have quite thick and frizzy hair, so the first thing that i notice is, it makes my hair feels soft and smooth. Yeah sure it doesn’t help much with the frizz, but it’s not targeted solely for frizz, so somehow it’s acceptable. The second time i use it, i can clearly see that it helps make my hair a lot smoother and softer. The frizz is manageable as well. However…. The result if not permanent. As i’ve said before, i exercise almost everyday, so when i’m drenched in sweat and the sweat touch my hair since my hair is quite long, it makes my hair frizzy instantly.
how it looks like on my hand
look how "tameable" my hair is
I have to say that it does the work as it’s promised. However, i still don't like how pricey it is. and how it can't help much with the frizziness. but i guess this one is already better than my previous hair oil, so i'm quite impressed with this one. considering the price, i truly can't say anything, aside from just buy the mini if you really, really want to try this one. as for me, this one really works and i have no complaint aside from the price. i will definitely repurchase this one if i have the budget.
