i didn't remember when i became interested in eye patches, but i remembered a lot of browsing and reading reviews and narrowing it to two option, this one and petitfee black and gold one. but since some mentioned that the petitfee one has strong scent, i decided to give SNP a try first. and then we went to japan and i bought another eye mask so i used it first before opening this one.
this is the description from memebox: with these hydrogel eye patches, saggy eye bags and dark circles are no longer a part of our morning routine. these eye patches are infused with 1000 mg of swiftlet nest extract, which give wings to the delicate skin around your eyes. watch dark circles and saggy bags soar away as the high concentration of bird's nest vitamins and minerals moisturizes, firms, and nourishes the under eye skin.
how to use: after cleansing and toning face, use the provided spatula to apply an eye patch to each under eye area. remove after 20 to 30 minutes. these patches can also be used for the corners of your mouth, where delicate skin tends to form lines.
the packaging: it comes in a blue cardbox. the eye patches comes in a big blue plastic tub with another cover before you can see the eye patches. i think the seals given make it more hygienic since there are a lot of eye patches in one tub. a screw top tub is a better options than wet-tissue-like packaging, since it gives better closure. and it comes with spatula to lift the eye patches out.
the scent: i think it doesn't have any distinctive scent, but my nose might not working really well.
the product: honestly, this is my first encounter with hydrogel products. the eye patches shape like what it called ghost-like shape. the texture is jelly-like so it's a little wobbly to handle and hard to scoop with spatula. and with the essence it becomes more slippery. the patches is light blue and has glittery-like appearance which makes it sparkling under light. the essence is clear and liquid in form. i shake the tub a couple times and turn it upside down to make sure the essence is spread evenly before opening it. oh and don't worry about the essence getting spilled out since i keep the seal on after opening it. i don't how i should put the patch under my eyes. i've tried both ways. with the small part inside, the curved part is shorter than the length of my eye, so it pokes my inner eye. but it doesn't sting my eye. but i like how the chubby part is covering the edges of my eyes, since that's where lines are usually formed. with the chubby part inside, it fits perfectly. the chubby part can cover most of my under eyes area so it moisturizes my under eyes really well. and it will be thinner after 15-20 minutes. it's like the moisture inside the mask is absorbed into the skin, leaving the patch thinner than the first time.
the result: it definitely moisturizes my under eyes well. with only eye cream, i don't feel it's enough at night. but with adding this eye patch at night, my under eyes are well moisturized. and i started using this after my son was born, and being a new mom (again) means sleepless nights (although i'm glad it didn't last long), and sleepless nights led to puffy eyes. and i used this one night when my eyes got really puffy. and the next morning my eyes were less puffed. and the day after that, my eyes became normal again. but for dark eyes, this has no effect at all.
so, definitely like this better than the japanese one, but it's not that special. i like how it helps with puffy eyes, and helps moisturize my under eyes, but nothing else. so i will try one of the petitfee after finishing this tub.
