studio tropik herbitus skin tonic

finally i can get my hand on this highly-raved toner. just like the moisturizer, the green one which targeted oily skin is always sold out. so, when i finally can get my hand on the travel size one, i'm quite happy with it. so let's see whether it's worth the rave.

this is the description translated from their website: studio tropik herbitus skin tonic has a lightweight formula to freshen and to soothe redness on acne skin. suitable for redness and acne-prone skin. start your skincare routine with skin tone as a special 'welcome drink' for your skin. used after washing your face to activate 'super sponge mode' that makes skin softer and more supple, ready for your next skincare routine. #cheerstobetterskin

main ingredients:
- mugwort: rich of antioxidant and works as anti-inflammation. can soothe and reduce redness on skin.
- cica (centella asiatica): acts as anti-inflammation that can help speeding up acne healing process without drying the skin.
- black cumin seed (habbatussauda): prevent P.acne growth, speed up healing process and strengthen the epidermal layer for a strong skin barrier.
ingredients list: Aqua, Butylene glycol, Centella asiatica extract, Artemisia vulgaris extract, Salicylic acid, Nigella sativa seed extract, Mandelic acid, Capryloyl salicylic acid, Propylene glycol, Pentylene glycol, Capryloyl glycine, 1,2-hexanediol, Caprylyl glycol, 10-Hydroxydecanoic acid, Sebacic acid, 1,10-Decanediol, Sodium hydroxide, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Acrylates/C10-30 alkyl acrylate crosspolymer, Triethanolamine, Ethylhexylglycerin, Glycerin, Phenoxyethanol, Chlorphenesin, Potassium sorbate, Sodium benzoate, Citric acid.

the packaging: i believe the mini size is just the miniature of the full size one. it comes with a moss green box with description on it as well as the ingredients list. the toner also comes in transparent plastic bottle with green screw plastic cap. the label has similar design with the box. the mini size is 30 ml. there are several sizes of this toner, ranging from the mini size, 30 ml; the regular one 100 ml; and the giant one 200 ml. so pick one to suit your need.

the scent: this one is scentless and there's no foul scent as well.

the product: this toner is watery but a bit viscous. it's easy to spread around but since it's a bit viscous, it takes a minute or two for the toner to sink into my skin. it feels slippery and it forms like a layer on top of my skin. judging by the ingredients, it really does contain lots of stuff that can be beneficial for acne skin like cica, salicylic acid, and mugwort.

the result: actually i feel weird about this toner as it forms a layer of moisture on top of my skin. it takes a few minutes for it to sink in. it's completely different from the probiotic one that sinks in right away then i can feel it plumps up my skin from within. with this one, the hydration isn't as maximum as the probiotic one, but there's a slippery layer on my skin. luckily other products that i use after this toner doesn't pill on top of it. i've heard that you can use it for CSM, but considering i only have 25 ml of it, i won't use it for CSM.

up until now, i can't understand the hype of this toner. yeah sure, it's lightweight but still hydrating, but i don't like the slippery feeling that it gives. in fact, i like the probiotic one more even though i have combination and sometimes get acnes. so, definitely try the mini size if you're not sure which one you like better. price wise, it ranges from the size, but it's still affordable. availability wise, since it's a local brand, it's easier to get. however, the herbitus one is often sold out, so snatch them whenever they're available without waiting them to be on sales.
