as i've said in my other posts, several months ago, suddenly most local brands released sunscreens and they looked good so i had a hard time to pick which one to choose to buy first because everything looked great. at the end, i decided to try some and one of them is FSS velvet sunscreen. at that time, FSS released two types of sunscreens, but the other one is targeted for dry skin (just like skintific), so i didn't buy it. let's see whether this one works for me or not because FSS was kind of hit and miss for me.
the box |
this is the description from their website: FSS velvet sunscreen is specially formulated with advanced 6 UV filters with sebum and oil control properties. it is lightweight with a velvet and primer-like finish. this sunscreen feature a natural blue hue from guaiazulene to soothe and calm the skin. perfect to use under makeup and best for normal to oily skin. no white cast. no paraben. no animal testing. no artificial fragrance. no artificial coloring.
description and ingredients list on the box |
the packaging: it comes in pale yellow box with blue label. there are descriptions on the box in english as well as the ingredients list. the sunscreen itself comes in blue plastic bottle with cream plastic screw cap. the bottle has spout to dispense the product. it comes in 50 ml, which is a normal size for local brand sunscreen. but compared to japanese, it's only a half because some japanese brand release 100 ml sunscreen. the bottle has spout to dispense the product.

the scent: i don't think this one has distinctive scent, but it doesn't smell like the usual sunscreen either.
the spout |
the product: just like their description, the sunscreen is blue! it has lotion like texture so it's quite runny, but not as thin as skintific ultra light sunscreen. it's easy to spread it around and it's absorbed pretty quickly too. it doesn't leave any white cast as promised so it's a good thing for darker skin tone.

the result: this one feels moisturizing compared to the ultra light. even though it's runny, i can feel that this one is a bit moisturizing, though not as moisturizing as skintific ceramide sunscreen. this one leaves satin finish, not completely matte but not too shiny either. as for the protection, unfortunately, when i tested this sunscreen, it's mostly rainy here, so i can't say for sure. as for the soothing formula, i also can't say much because i also use a soothing serum.
after rubbing it |
i have to say that the color blue is quite interesting. this might be the first blue sunscreen that i've tried and ever exist here. i think this sunscreen is suitable for all skin types even though they stated that it's targeted for oily skin type. this sunscreen is quite lightweight and doesn't leave white cast so it's another good point. however, for me, i don't quite like it. for me it's a bit more moisturizing than the usual sunscreen that i used, so when the weather gets hotter, i don't think this sunscreen will make it. but if you're interested in this sunscreen, you should try it. compared to other local brand sunscreen, this one is a little bit expensive, but it's still affordable considering this comes in 50 ml while the skintific only comes in half. you can get fss sunscreen from their official website and marketplace as well as other resellers like sociolla.
