papa recipe bombee ginseng red honey oil mask sheet

i was in singapore and i decided i need to buy more masks since i'm running low on my mask sheet. plus i've been contemplating whether or not i buy the papa recipe new variants. and guess what? i decided to get it both. i've tried the green one and i like it, so i'm curious about this one. so let's dig in.

this is the description from their US website: a red ginseng and botanical oil blend sheet mask is nourishing and full of antioxidants used in preventing fine lines and wrinkles. the oil blend of evening primrose, camellia, and rose will replenish loss of moisture in skin.
a sheet mask made of paper mulberry pulp and soaked in an oil serum. honey extract, red ginseng extract, and other moisturizing nutrients in the serum promote softer, firmer skin.
eco friendly sheet that is soft and delivers moisture more efficiently. delivers moisture and oil both at the same time to have balanced skin.
ingredient: red ginseng, honey extract, camellia oil, evening, rosehip oil, propolis extract.

the packaging: it comes in red sachet with the pot of honey picture at front. looking at the website, the one posted there comes in regular rectangular sachet while mine has the top cut out to fit the honey pot. i don't know if they changed the packaging, all i know is that i bought this from guardian singapore, so maybe it's new packaging. there's description at the back in korean and english. they also have ingredients list in english too. the sachet also feels papery, very different from other variants that i have tried.
the packaging
the scent: the scent is pretty strong. it does smell like ginseng, but it's nowhere near sulwhasoo's which is strong but not offensive. luckily, once you put it on your face, it's not as strong as before. believe me, if the scent is lingering while i'm using it, definitely i won't repurchase.

the product: at first i'm quite surprised that the sachet feels different. but guess what.. the mask is different as well. when i used it, i haven't read the product description, so i just thought that it would be the same. but i was surprised that it feels papery.  the mask is still thin but bit stiff, no backing either. there's something embedded in the mask. at first i thought it was dirty! but then i thought perhaps they put ginseng root embedded in the mask, but lately i thought it's probably because it's made of eco friendly sheet so it had some sort of weird thing embedded to the mask. it's not irritating my skin, but it's kind of surprising seeing a non plain mask. luckily, it adheres well to my face. there's some essence left on the pouch, but i won't keep that.
left: before
middle: mask on
right: after
the result: it is moisturizing just like usual papa recipe mask, but this one doesn't do anything else.

i have to say that among all papa recipe masks that i've tried before, this one is my least favorite. i don't know whether the scent or the mask material that threw me off, but i'm sure when i finish all of them, i won't repurchase this variants. but if you're into eco friendly material masks (which is quite rare for now) and love papa recipe masks, maybe you can try this one. just make sure you know that this one won't be as soft and thin and juicy as other papa recipe masks.
