blithe pressed serum - velvet yam

i've been eyeing on blithe since i've seen them in instagram. some skincare enthusiasts that i follow sometimes talked about blithe essences or their pressed serum, so obviously i became interested. but jumping to buy full size of blithe is too expensive, it's not in my budget, so i keep postponing it. even the sales price is still beyond my budget. so when i saw the deluxe pressed serum set was on sale and it was quite a big sale, i asked my husband and he said okay, just get it. so i immediately bought it. now i'm happy that i get the chance to try blithe pressed serum. though i wish blithe would also make a deluxe set of their essences. oh well, i make a video when i unboxing this set, so if you're interested, you can see it here. i open the velvet yam first because when i try the texture, i think this one would be perfect for me now, so let's see how it goes.

this is the description from their website and cnfstore website: pressed serum contains ingredients from homo-hundred longevity area. it has excellent absorption rate with deeper moisture and richer nutrition than serum. the yam that people in longlive village in nichoya peninsula, costa rica eat, contains mucin which is a complex protein combined with carbohydrates, excellent for skincare. besides, it also contains fermented argan oil, olive oil, shea butter and macadamia oil form a protective film to the skin high in moisturizing and suitable for dry skin.
from the box: for instant and enriched hydration. 68% velvet yam, moisturizing collagen without stickiness.

description at the back
the packaging: since i bought this in a set, it comes in a cardboard box, colorful and very informative. at front, you can see all four pressed serum pictures at front. then when you open the box, you can see windows of four and you can see the deluxe sample placed inside. there's a card with short description written in english and korean. at the back of the box, there's another short description in english with ingredients list of all four deluxe samples. the deluxe sample looks exactly like the full size version. it comes in a grey frosted plastic tub with dark grey screw cap. there's a plastic cover inside so the pressed serum doesn't come in contact with the air when you open the cap. the deluxe sample comes in 20 ml each. i've been using this every night and it lasts for almost two months.

the card. this is the korean part. flip it and you can see the english part on the back
the cardbox separator is broken during delivery
the scent: it has some scent probably because of the ingredients, but there's no added fragrance in the ingredients list. the scent is also very subtle. unless you sniff really close, you'd probably won't smell it.

the product: the velvet yam has a cream texture. there's a bit gel cream consistency. it spreads around easily. though it's quite thick, but it has enough slip to spread around. compared to iceplant, this one is richer, but not as thick as tundra chaga one.

the result: after being absorbed, it gives glowy finish. there's no tacky feeling afterward. considering that this is thick enough, it's absorbed rather quickly. it layers well over and under other product in my routine. since it's quite rich, sometimes i can use it solely as night cream. but i think for super dry skin or if it's winter season, you might need something more occlusive than this.

i have to say, i fell in love instantly with this pressed serum. it serves well in my routine. it hydrates and also gives enough moisture for my normal to combination skin. even on my husband's skin, it's also lovely (my husband's skin is dehydrated oily skin). if you have normal to oily skin, i think you'd love this. even for dry skin, but i guess at night you'd need to top it off with facial oil or sleeping pack. for me, it might be too much during daytime, but it's okay for night time. i'd love to purchase full size of this pressed serum if i have the budget. definitely recommending you to try this if you have the budget. if you don't, then check your local store during sales season. blithe usually have sales pretty often. i still have three more to go, so wait for more blithe reviews.
