whitelab acne calming serum

honestly, i have no idea about whitelab. i've seen it around in instagram, but i never interested in trying their products. mainly because the name is 'whitelab', as if it's promoting only whitening/brightening products. maybe at first, they were, but lately, they've came up with other products as well. as i've said in my other post, my skin was getting worse again, so i decided to try their acne calming serum. looking at the main ingredients, it should be good for acne. let's see how it goes.
the box
this is the description from their website (translated to english): acne skin condition often causes problem to a lot of people. unpleasant experience caused by it like mild skin irritation, redness, sensitive skin and itchiness sometimes reported by people with acnes. whitelab acne calming serum comes with a new upgraded formula, specifically formulated to treat oily prone skin, acne prone and comedones prone skin.

description and ingredients list
the packaging: i believe all whitelab products come in white box. the design is the same for all products, but they put the name of the product at front, so make sure you read it correctly. there's description in indonesian at the back as well as the ingredients list. the serum itself comes in frosted bottle with dropper to dispense the product. the label on the bottle has similar design as the box. however, at a glance, it looks awfully similar to the ordinary. the serum only comes in 20 ml so the bottle is quite deceiving. it's just a bit smaller than 30 ml serum bottle.
the bottle
the scent: this one smells fragrant, floral, but i can't pinpoint what type. for me, the scent is calming and relaxing, not annoying at all. it does contain added fragrance as stated on the ingredients list, so if you're sensitive to scent, then skip it.
how it looks like inside the dropper
the product: it's a cloudy white serum. the consistency is in the middle. it's a bit viscous but not super thick since it uses dropper to dispense the product. it's easy to spread around and can be layered without any problem. the main ingredients in the product are mugwort and cica which are soothing and has anti inflammatory properties, tea tree that's well known for treating acne. it also contain niacinamide that helps regulate sebum production. however, it also contains other moisturizing and hydrating stuff like glycerin and sodium hyaluronate, so somehow it kinds of balance it.

after blended it
the result: once i spread it around, i can feel the added moisture. compared to my previous jumiso serum (which i think has similar ingredients with this one), this one is more moisturizing. however, for sebum control, jumiso one is better. as for brightening, i can see it helps fade acne scars, but it takes longer time to see the result. i think vitamin c or arbutin will work faster. as for acne treatment, i do think it helps soothe my skin. somehow i don't experience crazy breakouts when i use this serum (jumiso one too), but it doesn't prevent new acne from popping out completely. i still have acne here and there but not as crazy as before.

honestly, i'm quite surprise with the result. i never thought i'd like this one. however, since this one is more moisturizing, i might prefer jumiso one for hot and humid days, while on rainy season like these days, i might like this one better. this one is suitable for all skin type, but again, since it contains fragrance, make sure you're okay with it. as for me, this one is on my might repurchase list. price wise, it's still affordable and it's available at sociolla aside from their official website/ marketplace.
