i don't have any preference regarding lip balm and honestly, i'm not that diligent in using one, but i know better than not using it, especially whenever i'm traveling on spring or fall season. so, i always at least have one in my stash. i usually use body shop vitamin e one that i've been repurchasing for several times now, but i saw about this lip balm when i was about to go to japan, so i figured why not try this one for a change. i don't know that there are few types of them, so i go with the unscented one.
this is the translated description from their website: 100% naturally derived ingredients. organic certified oil lipstick. since it's applied on the lips, it's made only from food grade ingredients such as pesticide free vegetable oil and natural beeswax. moisturizes dry and rough lips. moisturizes and softens your lips.
the packaging |
the packaging: it comes in light grey plastic pouch with description at the back in japanese. the lip balm itself comes in similar light grey plastic tube. it's just the usual lip balm packaging, the stick one, and doesn't look like lipstick.
the description at the back |
the color/scent: this not tinted and unscented. however, since it's made of all natural stuff, somehow it smells a bit weird. not totally off-putting but still slightly unpleasant.
the tube |
the product: the lip balm feels slick compared to the TBS that i used to use. at first i don't like it since it feels a bit oily but then i got used to it. it's moisturizing, maybe a bit more than TBS one. i've used lip balm from bite beauty that feels heavily moisturizing but gives drying after effect. but this one doesn't. it feels moisturizing without the after effect. however, it still feels like there's a film of something on top of my lips, which is a bit weird.
how it looks like |
anyway, i'm not regretting trying this one. it definitely moisturizes my lips and since it's unscented, i can use it for my kids as well. i forgot about the price, but i think it's pretty cheap. anyway, i never saw this outside japan, so maybe grab one while you're there. as for me, this one works okay, but not that revolutionary, so i think i'll buy the TBS one again after this.
