biore uv barrier me cushion gentle essence

going to japan means sunscreen-hoarding time. they a lot of sunscreen and most of them are win in my book, so every time i go to japan, i always buy a lot. this time is no exception. even though at first i can't seem to find something new to try, but near my departure day, i found a lot of sunscreens to try. anyway, i never bother to search about them beforehand, i just bought whatever caught my eyes. anyway, i never heard about this because there's another biore sunscreen that's on the hype at the same time, so this one didn't get the same attention. anyway, i'm not picky, so i picked this one as well to see how it goes.

this is the description from their website: a gentle formulation sunscreen with dual protection barrier against harmful UV rays and pollutants. it's developed with anti-pollution shield technology, once applied this sunscreen, it forms a long lasting, powerfully protective skin strengthening barrier against environmental stressors such as dust, pollutant impurities PM 2.5 and pollens. this moisturizing and lightweight essence type sunscreen is mask-friendly and spreads easily with non-greasy feeling upon application and great enough as makeup base. this moisturizing and lightweight essence type sunscreen equips with board spectrum protection SPF 50+ PA ++++ that made ideal for daily use and suitable for most skin types.
the tube
the packaging: it comes with the usual packaging, cardboard backing that contains all the description in japanese and plastic sealing to cover the sunscreen tube. the sunscreen itself comes in silver plastic tube with light blue flip top. another description in japanese at the back of the tube. this one is 60 g which is okay considering the texture of the sunscreen. compared to local sunscreen, this one is almost doubled the size.
another description at the back of the tube
the scent: i can't pick any distinctive scent from this sunscreen. it doesn't smell citrusy like the usual biore sunscreen nor the usual sunscreen scent. but if i sniff really close, i think i can smell faint baby powder scent from this sunscreen.
the flip top
the product: it's a white cream type sunscreen. it's a bit thick than my usual sunscreen, but it's easy to spread around, so no complaint there. anyway, it's a bit thicker than what i've used to use, and i believe this is the thickest biore sunscreen that i've tried. anyway, once i spread it around, it does have a bit white cast but it vanishes quickly after rubbing it for another few seconds.
how it looks like on my hand
the result: once it's settled down, it feels moisturizing and a bit tacky but not too much. it makes my skin a bit glowy but not too much. nothing more than a tinted moisturizer-like. protection wise, i think it works since i don't get my skin burnt since it's been hot where I live when I tried this sunscreen. Like scorching hot. anyway, it's marketed toward sensitive skin and i don't have sensitive skin, so i can't say whether it's true. but i had acnes when i used this and it doesn't mess with my acnes, so i think it's gentle enough for even sensitive skin to use.
how it looks like after blending it
among all biore sunscreens that i've tried, this might not be the worst, but it's not my favorite either. i don't know why.. but i prefer something more lightweight. though this one is quite surprising. it's not as heavy as it looks. anyway, if you're confused with the whole reformulation thing of the famous biore watery uv essence and gel that happens every three years, then this might be a good option for you since this might be the first option and i don't think there's another version of this one. anyway, this is not available here where i live and i don't know whether you can find this online, so availability wise, i can't say anything. price wise, it's affordable. just like any other biore sunscreens, they're all affordable. the only cons is you might have to get it straight from japan. as for me, i don't think i'd repurchase this one, but i think it'll suitable for all skin types, especially the normal to dry skin one. try it if you want to, if you can get your hands on it.
