Skinfood premium tomato whitening toner

as i've promised before, i will write review of products that i've been trying for a while now. as you all know, i've bought the skinfood premium tomato whitening kit a while ago, and i've tried the essence and emulsion which you can read the review here and here. and next in line is the toner. i don't want to try the whole line altogether because i knew i wouldn't need all of them. i've been eyeing the cream or emulsion, but i won't make any decision soon.

the whole line full size products

the toner contains 10% of tomato extract
this is the description from eng.theskinfood.com: contains 10% of sun-kissed tomato extract and stabilized vitamin C derivative. a brightening toner that promotes pure, bright skin.

okay.. now about the sample..
the packaging: the toner is in a plastic bottle with screw top. the opening is wide enough to spit the toner out. but since it's bigger than the opening of the full size product, you have to be careful in pouring it. the bottle is transparent so it's quite difficult to read the label since it's printed on the bottle's body.

the smell: it's quite fragrant, but it's not tomato scent. but not overpowering since you might not smell it seconds after applying it.

the product: it's a clear toner, liquid like water, easily absorbed. i think it contains alcohol since i feel similar feeling with etude wonder pore freshner while using, though not as strong as etude's. the toner can act as residue cleanser too since i saw debris on my cotton pad after using it all over my face. probably it cleanses the sebum and dirt on my face too. the sample is 4 ml and i've been using it every night for about a month and a half.

the result: if you're looking for instant brightening product, probably this one is not for you. as other korean whitening products, this one is meant for brightening, which means making your face more radiant, glowing.. not whitening literally. since i'm quite fair, i can't see any brightening effect, but probably since it's good in cleansing the sebum and debris on my face, probably it has brightening effect in it but i can't see it. it's refreshing and doesn't cause breakouts on me, but other than that i don't see any benefit. it doesn't help much with the sebum production or reducing pores.

sooooo... probably i won't purchase the full size product. but if you like the other premium tomato whitening products and you don't want to buy other toner, then it's okay for oily/combination skin. dry skin can use it too, but if you're sensitive to alcohol, you might want to try the sample first.

the sample bottle (the plastic is transparent so it's difficult to get the clear shot of the bottle)
