this is another post japan trip buy that i did through my sister. i was looking for cleansing water when i was in japan, but i didn't look carefully. i knew i wanted to try bifesta, even though i found bioderma easier everywhere in japan. but i didn't know that they called it cleansing lotion! i thought lotion is toner, so i hesitated quite a few times when i saw bifesta product. i google-translated it, and it read cleansing lotion that's why i didn't buy any of them. and then i found out that they also sell it in singapore, so i asked my sis to buy it for me. there are 4 types, and i think the bright up one is suitable for me. but my sis called me and told me that there was a promotion, buy one get one free, so i chose bright up and moist.
this is the description from their website: removes makeup and dullness, making skin more translucent. the double moisturizing/cleansing ingredients genty and quickly "float" and envelop oil-based makeup, removing it along with dullness-causing dead skin cells, while keeping the skin moisturized. gently wipe off with cotton to remove even the thickest eye makeup, foundation trapped in pores, and dullness, without rubbing the skin. translucent skin after each use.
now, i love my cleansing oil, and i even bought another cleansing oil while in japan, but why do i need to buy cleansing water? well, i'm not a makeup person. i don't use makeup everyday since i am only a housewife. but i do wear sunscreen everyday. and i don't like using cleansing oil just for the sake for cleansing my sunscreen. usually i just use my facial foam at night. but i also noticed that i have couple of bb cream, eyeliners and mascara, and tons of lipstick, so i better used them up before giving birth or they might expire before i can use makeup again. so, i tried to put light makeup whenever i get out of the house. and since i don't use waterproof makeup, i think cleansing water will be enough. so, i only use my cleansing oil on heavy makeup days, and cleansing water every night. and i still follow up with facial foam.

the packaging: it comes in a big plastic bottle with pump to dispense the product out. it has separator under the pump to prevent accidental pump-pushing. everything in this line comes in similar packaging, only the outer plastic cover color that make the difference. it is blue for bright up. why did i say the outer? since after i opened it, the blue color doesn't as bright as before. and talking about the pump, i've tried using it many ways. with cotton pad covering the opening, with the cotton pad in distance with the opening, but no matter how i use it, it will splatter on my vanity table, so let's just say i'm not happy about it. and then.. i found a pump-on-top dispensing bottle, the one that's similar to etude's wonder pore big size one.. and i decanted the cleansing water to this bottle, and i love it! i just put the cotton pad on top of the pump, pump twice or three times, and then the product won't be spilled. voila!
the scent: okay.. since this is my first experience with japan product, i don't know what to expect. to be honest, i'm quite surprised that this one is odorless. but not completely odorless, i notice i can smell something different, but not annoying. i guess it's a neutral scent.. not fragrant, not bad smell too. it's not offending, once you've wiped it on your face, the scent will vanish in no time. again, although i can't stand very fragrant product, but i do wish that it has slightly fragrant scent in it. subtle scent.. but that's me.. i think if you have sensitive skin, then you'll be thankful that this one is scent-less.
the product: it's liquid in consistency and clear just like water. and the amount of product that you need to remove sunscreen or makeup depends on the product on your face. and this is the bright up type one, and i feel that it moists my skin a little bit afterwards. not sticky, but not squeaky clean too.
the result: for sunscreen, i don't know if it removes the sunscreen well, but i've been using it almost a month (since my melbourne trip), and i didn't experience any breakouts, so i guess it means that the cleansing water cleanses well. now, about the makeup. i've tried bb cream, cream blush, lipstick, eyeliner and mascara. the bb cream and the cream blush can be easily removed with this cleansing water. one or two cotton pads according to the amount of makeup you put on beforehand. but for eyeliner and mascara, perhaps 3-5 times. with waterproof type, it's getting a lot harder, that's why i still use my cleansing oil when i put on full face makeup.
overall, i'm quite pleased that i bought this cleansing water. it's perfect for quick clean-up. for everyday use to remove sunscreen or light makeup. plus it's quick to clean my face, so it's perfect for a busy mom like me. now, it comes in big bottle, 300 ml a bottle, and with the price tag, i can say it's very economic. another plus for me. but if you get bored easily, then this bottle might be too big for you. but i think most cleansing water comes in big bottle. perhaps because it needs more than cleansing oil to cleanse well. anyway.. i still have a lot to go and i've already had a back up, the moist one.. so it might take a while before i can review the other one, and to decide whether or not to repurchase it. but definitely i don't regret my decision to buy this one.
