avène travel set - cleansing foam

back when our flight from singapore back home was cancelled, my toiletries were already in my checked-in baggage, so i had to buy whatever travel set they had in the mini market inside the airport. i also didn't have any sunscreen, so i was looking for a set that has at least face wash and sunscreen. the only one that had both was avène. i had no choice but to buy it.

this is the description from their website: lightweight, cleansing foam gently removes makeup, dirt, excess oil and other impurities while soothing skin for a clean and calm complexion. skin is left with a healthy, matte finish.
benefits:
- gentle: effectively removes all traces of makeup on face, eyes and lips.
- mattifies: helps absorb excess oil and leaves skin with shine-free finish.
- refreshes: soft, lightweight foam ideal for normal to combination, sensitive skin.

the bottle
the packaging: since i bought this as a travel set, it comes in a transparent plastic bag with zipper to secure all the products inside. the foam itself comes in white can bottle with pump head, covered with another white plastic cap. it only comes in 50 ml which is quite decent for a sample size. there's description at the back of the bottle in english and french as well as the ingredients list.

the scent: even though they claimed that this has fragrance, i don't smell anything from it. maybe they add the fragrance to cover the foul scent that the ingredients might have.

the product: as described, it's a lightweight foam that's easy to disperse. since it's a foam, it's easy to spread it around, may it be with my bare hands or with my foreo. however, since this is very lightweight and airy, it's easy to vanish if i wet my hands too much. that's why i tend to use more than i used to to compensate. more so with my foreo or it will feel like dragging dry foreo over my skin.

the result: since it's very lightweight, i can't say for sure about the effectiveness. sometimes i feel that my face is still a little bit oily, that's why i wash my face twice sometimes. but it's really gentle so i think it'll be good for sensitive skin. as for claim that it will mattify skin, i can't say for sure since when i first used this the first time, my skin was pretty oily because i couldn't wash my face for almost 12 hours, but then it was still oily the next day after washing my face twice.

that being said, as a travel set, this face wash is okay and do what it needs to do. but for daily? i don't think i'd like it. i'm glad i got the chance to try avene since it's been awhile and i know there are some people that's die hard fans of this brand, but it didn't appeal me so i'm glad that i finally get the chance to try this brand. i think this face wash is suitable for all skin type including sensitive skin as well. price wise, i can't say for sure about the full size one, but the travel size is quite okay. as for me, i will not repurchase.
