dear me beauty skin barrier water cream

i totally forgot that i wanted to try some lightweight moisturizers from underrated local brands, so when i browsed around sociolla, i decided to try something that's been around for quite some time. this moisturizer has been around for quite some time, however, somehow it's been overshadowed by other moisturizer on the market. so i'm curious, whether it's not worth the money or it's a good one, just being overshadowed.

this is the description from their website: a 2-in-1 day and night moisturizer formulated to strengthen skin's protective barrier and help fight early signs of aging, while actively improving hydration deep within the multilayers of skin. proven suitable for all skin types with 5 powerful barrier repairing ingredients: 5% niacinamide, ceramide, peptide, hyaluronic acid, centella asiatica.

the packaging: it comes in a white/red box with description on the sides and at the back both in indonesian and english as well as the ingredients list. the box can be opened completely and there's more description inside in english, which is similar to their serums packaging. the cream itself comes in red plastic tub with white plastic lid separator and a tiny spatula inside. i have to say that the spatula is quite useless since it's so tiny that i can barely get anything scooped by it. It comes in regular 30 g size, just like any other moisturizer.

The scent: this one is scentless and doesn’t have any funny smell in it.

The product: the moisturizer is a white gel type moisturizer that’s a bit viscous. It might be comparable to true to skin mugwort moisturizer. It’s easy to spread around, although it’s not that easy to sink in. I notice that it takes a minute or two to be completely sink in.

The result: well, this one feels similar to other gel type moisturizers that i’ve tried lately, however, it doesn’t feel special. It feels just okay. It doesn’t make my face greasy as the day goes by but it’s not enough if the weather gets colder. That’s why i didn’t bring this with me to finland.
sorry since it looks blurs, but that's how it looks on my hand
after blending it
That being said, this feels mediocre. Yeah sure, it’s hydrating and moisturizing without being too heavy, but nothing special about it. I could say that elsheskin, true to skin, and somethinc supple moisturizer are still the winners for me. So yeah, so sad to say that i won’t repurchase this. However, if you’re looking for an affordable lightweight moisturizer that works, then this might be a good option for you. I think it’ll be suitable for all skin type except for dry skin. Unfortunately, they don’t have this in smaller size? Correct me if I’m wrong. Anyway.. now i know why it gets overshadowed by the other moisturizer.
