several months ago, the market was saturated with local brand sunscreens. suddenly, every local brands seemed to launch their own sunscreens. including skintific. well, this might not be a local brand per se, but still, it's loved by many and there are a lot of people that love this brand. anyway, they released two sunscreens back to back, and then another sunscreen spray at the same time as they launched the second sunscreen. i bought both of them, so i can differentiate them. i've reviewed the other one and you can read it here if you're curious. so now, let's see the second one.
this is the description from their official marketplace page: a fast, absorbing ultra-light sunscreen with super thin layers for a powerful protection all day long, against UVA/UVB rays, blue light, and urban pollutions. contains potent antioxidant from vitamin c and ferulic acid to neutralize free-radicals, it also prevent premature aging and protect skin barrier.
benefit: protection from sun rays with nanotechnology and ultra-lightweight.
the box |
hero ingredients:
- UVA and UVB filters
- vitamin c and vitamin e: antioxidants that fight free radicals
- ferulic acid: strong free radicals neutralizer
description and ingredients list on the box |
the packaging: it comes in a silver box with description on the side as well as the ingredients list at the back of the box. they also wrapped the box with plastic sealing for double protection. i have to admit that i'm even more surprised to see how small the box is. it's even smaller than the ceramide one. the bottle itself is a white plastic bottle with prismatic silver cap that's covered by another transparent plastic cap layer. they use spout to dispense the product out, just like any other sunscreens. anyway, the size is just 25 ml which is considerably too small for sunscreen.
the bottle |
the scent: i think this one also scentless. it doesn't have the default scent that sunscreens used to have.
the spout |
the product: the sunscreen is marketed toward oily skin people. that's why this one is more liquid. this sunscreen comes in white liquid form, so in order to fulfill the amount required for maximum protection, you'd need more compared the ceramide one. but since this one is liquid, it's easy to spread around and it's quite fast absorbing as well. that's why, this one is even faster to finish.
how it looks like on my hand |
the result: this one gives matte finish so it's suitable for oily skin type, just like advertised. it doesn't leave any white cast whatsoever just like ceramide one. it doesn't feel tacky afterward either.
after blending it |
i have to say, between the ceramide and the ultra light one, obviously ultra light one is more suitable for me. with my skin type and the weather of where i live. but somehow, i'm not convinced with both. so yeah, not going to repurchase aside from the reason that it's too small so the cost per ml would be much more expensive than other sunscreen. anyway, if you have oily skin or you live in hot and humid weather, then ultra light is more suitable for you. but if you have dry skin or you live in places that have winter weather, then the ceramide one will be more suitable for you. both sunscreen doesn't leave any white cast so both would be suitable for darker skin tone as well.
