meishoku whitening eye cream

if you read my other post, then you might know that i was looking for another decent eye cream when i went to japan. there aren't many japanese eye creams that i found on people's haul, so i only bought this one and the sana one. both are rated as best sellers, so let's see which one is better. i tested both during the same period of time, one on the right eye and the other on the left. i used sana on my right eye and meishoku on left eye.

this is the description from cosme.com: rich in placental extract, this medicated eye cream offers both skin brightening and anti aging care. it features medicated skin brightening placenta that permeates deep into skin to prevent melanin production and promote luminous skin without any signs of blemishes or discoloration. collagen and job's tears extract act on the skin around the eyes and the lips. it provides elasticity and hydration, and promotes soft, hydrated, firm skin.

the packaging: it has similar packaging with sana one. it comes with a cardboard backings and plastic cover just like toothbrush packaging. the eye cream itself comes in a blue plastic tube with screw cap. it comes in regular eye cream size, which is 30 ml. it also has spout to dispense the product, although the opening of the tip is slightly bigger than sana one.

the scent: this is my first scented japanese product. it smells floral, but not too overpowering. i know that some of you might have different opinion against scent in eye cream, since it's a sensitive area, adding fragrance might trigger sensitivity. but, i like the smells. since i only use this at night, sometime i sniff it and feel relaxed. but don't worry, i can't smell it once i put it on my nose.

the product: it's a white cream. at first, i thought it is gel, but turns out it's a quite thick white cream. although it's thick, i can spread it on my skin pretty easy. afterward it leaves a film-like residue and it's sticky. as you can guess, it's thick so it takes quite some time to be absorbed. it takes even longer than sana. and that's why i only use it at night. once i tried using it daytime, and i had disaster putting my makeup over this eye cream. my powder foundation rolled on top of this eye cream. i had to wash my face and put everything back all over again.

the result: it's definitely moisturise my under eye skin. but i don't see any whitening effect. but if i use it in combination with petitfee eye patch, it's slightly brightening my under eye. although i think the result is more visible with sana. it's quite sad since it's labelled as whitening eye cream. as for the moisturizing properties, i have to say that the result isn't different much from the sana one.

overall, it's a nice eye cream for night time. but if you're looking for all day eye cream, i wouldn't suggest this one. it takes forever to sink in. but it doesn't just sit on top of my skin like my previous skinfood eye cream. this one does sink in at the end. compared to sana, this one is more expensive, but both delivers well. i can see that i can use this one at night and sana during the day. so, i have no recommendation since both works. but if you're concern about budget, then you can try sana one.
