i had good result from my previous experience with my beauty diary masks, so when i went back to japan, i hunted for more variants. unfortunately, there weren't many options so i only got two other variants. i didn't want to buy the ones that i've tried before because although i like them, i didn't want to repeat anything so i can try as many variants as i can. this time, i got the sake yeast and the black pearl one. and i'm trying out the sake yeast first.
the description from their website: sake brewed from deep ocean water, the sake yeast extract promotes the regenerating of cells, allowing skin to be clear and radiant. the vegetal collagen provides the nourishment needed by the skin maintaining the skin's regenerating healing function. cactus extract contains rich amount of flavonoids, polysaccharide and amino acids which keeps the skin hydrated. grapefruit extracts soften skins and regulates sebum secretion, allowing skin to stay refreshed and oil free. algae extract improves the skin metabolism and keeps the skin elastic and firm.
the packaging: i got this in a box of 5, the outer box and the individual sachet have the same design. for sake yeast mask, it's light blue with the picture of sake bottle in front of it. there's description at the back, but everything is in japanese.
the scent: i was afraid that this might smell weird, considering that this contains booze. i think i never had any skincare that contain liquor before (aside from wine jelly peeling gel sample). this mask smells like sweet alcohol, sting a bit when freshly opened but it dissipates quickly.
the product: just like other my beauty diary masks, the mask is thin and has plastic backing so it's easier to unfold the mask. the mask is also soaked in clear essence, lots of essence so i get a decent amount of excess to keep. the fit is okay, a bit narrow on my jaw and there's no slit, but it's adjustable. so far i have no problem with the mask's fit.
the result: the mask is definitely hydrating and makes my pores appear smaller. but it's only temporary. i had acne when i use this mask and i've been using this twice, and somehow it helps promotes the acne healing. as for regulating the sebum secretion, i can't say for sure as it need regular usage to see the result.
overall, i'm pleased with this mask. i'll use this one again when i need to accelerate my acne healing as i found that his mask helps with it. i think all skin types might like this mask but if you have super dry skin and a little bit wary about using this mask, then you should steer away. since i can't understand the ingredients in this mask, for those who are concern about the "halal" status of this mask, i don't have any answer on that question, so you'd probably want to stay away if you're concern about using non halal product in your skincare. as for me, i'd like to put it on my repurchase list once i've finished with all my MBD masks in my stash.
