origins cleanse, treat and hydrate: ginzing oil-free energy boosting gel moisturizer

i was glad origins made a lot of skincare care sets and sold them during the holiday since their holiday sets are still reasonably priced. i bought some of them during the holiday while i was in singapore since it's not sold here in indonesia. i've tried several of their masks but most of them are so-so, not worth paying full price. for this set, i've tried the face wash and the toner, and the moisturizer is the last item in the set for me to try. i've heard people say good things about this moisturizer, so let's see whether it's true or not.

this is the description from their website: and energy boosting gel moisturizer formulated to help wake up dull, tired and lackluster skin with 72-hour hydration. oil free and silicone free. what it does: delivers 72-hours of oil free hydration as it revs up skin's natural radiance for a wide-awake look. energy boosting caffeine from coffee and ginseng help refresh and revitalize, while hydra-hug technology helps lock in and maintain lasting, healthy moisture. essential oil blend of grapefruit, lemon and spearmint naturally invigorates the senses.
the tube
the packaging: since i bought this in a set, it comes in an envelope-like cardboard poach with the picture of the three items inside at front. description about all three products at the back. the moisturizer itself comes in orange squeeze plastic tube with white screw cap. i thought it comes in bigger size than the matte moisturizer, but i was wrong. it comes in 15 ml as well. short description at the back of the tube in english mostly. the whole ginzing line has orange and white combination so it's easy to spot it.
description at the back
the scent: i thought reading the name ginzing and it has ginseng as one of its main ingredients, it would smell like sulwhasoo, which has rich ginseng scent or herbal scent. but this one doesn't. it smells like orange instead. very refreshing and nice! i like the scent of this product.
i don't remember if they put a seal on the opening
the product: it's a white gel cream and it's not too thick in consistency. it spreads easily on my skin but it doesn't leave watery traces. but it does being absorbed easily. it's not super rich and can be considered lightweight enough to be used in the morning. but since i used emulsion in the morning, i used this at night only. i've used this almost a month and i can still there's a bit left in the tube.
the moisturizer on my hand (the sunlight somehow makes it more yellow than it is)
the result: this one is moisturizing enough, more so than the matte moisturizer one. but since it is in gel cream format, as like any other gel moisturizer, it's not as thick and occlusive as thick cream moisturizer. this also works well over other skincare products that i used. this leaves a bit glowy finish unlike the matte moisturizer. but it doesn't leave sticky feeling when i touch my face.
after blending it in
i definitely like this one better than the matte moisturizer that i've tried just before this. this one doesn't give me dead matte finish. also i can feel this one moisturizes my skin a bit better. it also smells nice, i really like the scent. among all origins products that i've tried before, this is the only one that i like so far. so i guess it really deserves the rave. so if you have the money to splurge and you have combination to oily skin, this is a good option for you. but if you have dry skin, i think it would be okay for in the morning, but not at night. i don't think it'd be enough for night time. as for me, i'm glad i've tried the travel size. i don't think i'll spend my money on the full size, but if i do have some money to spare, i'd sure love to get this one.
