avoskin intensive nourishing eye cream

it's been almost a year since i began using my eye roll on. so i'm guessing it might me time to buy something else just in case. i've been wanted to try local products, so i guess it's a good time to do it since this pandemic has caused some trouble to buy imported goods. anyway, at first i wanted to try lacoco one, but it's been sold out, so i'm trying the second one on my list, avoskin. there are mix reviews about this once, so let's see how it goes.

this is the description from their website: eye cream with a light texture that works best to moisturize the skin around the eyes so that the eyes look fresher, maintain elasticity, and delay the appearance of wrinkles under the eyes. avoskin intensive nourishing eye cream is an eye cream that can reduce dark circles, eye bags, and keep the area of the eye contour to look healthy and moist. enriched with coffee extract, aloe vera, cucumber extract, yam extract, macadamia nut extract, algae extract, anthemis nobilis flower oil, tea tree oil, grape extract, and kojic acid, this eye cream can reduce the impact of fatigue on the eyes and help realize the eyes beautiful and fresh.
ingredients on the website: aqua, ethylhexyl olivate, PEG-4 olivate, phytosteryl/ octodecyl lauroyl glutamate, tocopherol, aloe barbadensis leaf extract, cucumis sativa (cucumber) extract, collagen, acrylates/acrylamide (i think it got cut since i find another ingredients list that's longer).
this is the ingredients list from sociolla website: the former is the same as previous list, but it has added acrylamide copolymer, phenoxyethanol, mineral oil, pachyrrhizus erosus root extract, PEG-12 dimethicone, coffee arabica seed powder, macadamia ternifolia nut oil, algae extract, triethanolamine, anthemis nobilis flower oil, tea tree oil, kojic acid, hyaluronic acid, vitis vinifera (grapeseed) oil.

the packaging: it comes in a dark navy cardbox with description on it. sometimes it is written in bahasa, but sometimes it's written in english. the ingredients list is also printed on the box. the funny thing is, they seal the top part of the box, but nothing on the bottom, so i can get out the eye cream tub without damaging the seal on top. this is worrisome though. what if someone else find out about this and decided to do bad thing? inside there's a little brown glass-like tub with a bit of description on it as well. it has gold screw cap and separate plastic lid to secure the cream inside. there's nothing special about the packaging. and it only comes in 10 ml, which is less than usual eye cream. there's no spatula provided. i guess it's better to put it in a squeeze tube rather than a tub, but it's just my personal preference.

the scent: it has weird foul scent. it's a bit strong at first, but as time goes by, the scent gets more subtle, or maybe my nose has accustomed to it? oh well, there's no added fragrance to the eye cream, so it must be the scent from those oils.

can you see it's a bit separating on the left?
the product: at first, i was surprised when i opened the tub. it's been awhile to finish my previous eye product, so it sits in my stash for awhile. it was separated at first! i was surprised to see that. i thought it was expired, but i checked the expiry date and it was still good. so i searched about it, and some people said that since it has several oils in its ingredients list, it might get separated, but it would be okay, you just need to shake it well. and it would be better to put it in the refrigerator. i did that at first. i shook it well, and put it in the refrigerator. and just like people said, it was okay again. but it's troublesome to go to the refrigerator back and forth to use the eye cream, so i just put it in my vanity and then shake it well before using it. the cream is thick, but not too thick. probably like emulsion consistency. i can spread it easily around my eyes area.

the result: you need to use this sparingly. if i put on too much i can feel cooling sensation which is a bit unpleasant since it's weird for me. i'm afraid that my eyes would get sting. looking at the ingredients, i don't know why it has that minty sensation. as i'm using this with an eye massager tool, i have to use enough amount. if i use too little, then it would get dried before i finish massaging my eyes area. so i really need to use enough amount to give a good slip so i can massage my eyes area well. after using half tub, i do agree that this one keep the area around my eyes moist. this also contains coffee powder, which i think might contribute in reducing eye bag or dark eyes, but on me, i don't see any significant changes. but considering that it doesn't get worse, so i think in the long run it might work, but not that fast. it also contain cucumber which is widely know to help with some puffiness, but i don't experience any puffiness during using this eye cream, so i can't say anything about it.

i have to say for local eye cream with that price, i think it delivers the most important thing for eyes area, giving it moisture but not too rich. though i would say that the claim is gutsy since it promises to tackle all eye area problems like dark under eye and eye bags. i don't mind with the performance, but i don't like the scent. i just wish they don't use that many oil that might be separated. for me, i won't repurchase this, but if you only need moisture for your eyes area, this might be a good option for you. but if you have more problems like fine lines and dark eyes, you might want to try something else.
