if you have read my other post, you'd know that i was curious about some by mi snail products, but i was hesitant. luckily i found out that they sell the set that contains all the products in the line range. so obviously i bought the set. i've tried the cream and the toner, so now it's the serum time. this is the item that makes me curious about this line in the first place, so let's see how it goes.
this is the description from yesstyle website: a serum that repairs, strengthens, and soothes with the combination of nutritious black snail and proprietary ingredient, truecica. benefits: a dual functional product, whitening and anti wrinkle. contains 890.000 ppm of snail truecica which consists of black snail extract and truecica. helps for skin regeneration to repair skin damage with black snail extract. soothes skin and reinforces skin barrier with truecica. removes blemishes and scar with a non-sticky finish. free of 20 harmful ingredients. passes skin irritation test.
ingredients list: water, butylene glycol, niacinamide, 1,2-hexanediol, snail secretion filtrate, c12-14 pareth-12, c12-14 pareth-7, carbomer, tromethamine, dioscorea japonica root extract, trehalose, ethylhexylglycerin, beta-glucan, hydrolyzed corn starch, citrus aurantium bergamia (bergamot) fruit oil, allantoin, adenosine, disodium EDTA, sucrose, melaleuca alternifolia (tea tree) leaf extract, glycyrrhiza glabra (licorice) root extract, agrimonia eupatoria extract, salvia officinalis (sage) oil, centella asiatica (gotu kola) extract, salvia officinalis (sage) leaf extract, camellia sinensis (green tea) leaf extract, chamaecyparis obtusa leaf extract, silybum marianum seed extract, perilla frutescens leaf extract, sodium chondroitin sulfate, broussonetia kazinoki root extract, propolis extract, artemisia capillaris extract, cimicifuga dahurica root extract, salix alba (willow) bark extract, pentylene glycol, madecassoside, oenothera biennis (evening primrose) flower extract, asiaticoside, asiatic acid, madecassic acid, phenoxyethanol.
the packaging: the mini kit comes in a red holographic cardboard box with the picture of all products inside at front. at the back, you can read the description of each product in korean. i think they put ingredients list as well, but since everything is in korean, so i'm not sure. the serum comes in a red plastic bottle with dropper on top to dispense the product. there's a bit description at the back in korean. the serum is the smallest of all, only comes in 10 ml. but i think most serum sample comes in that size.

the scent: this one also has medicated scent similar to the toner, but not as strong as the toner.
description at the back |
the product: it's a clear gel type serum. quite viscous but still easy to spread around. this is also stringy but not as stringy as cosrx snail essence. i usually use one dropper and a half to cover my whole face and neck. since the serum is quite viscous and the dropper is small, i have to hold the dropper for about 5 seconds to get full dropper amount.

the result: the serum is a bit moisturizing. it's easy to absorb and doesn't leave tacky feeling. however, compared to other snail essence or serum or ampoule that i have tried before, this one doesn't feel special. the cosrx snail essence is a hydrating no fuss product, that you can easily add to your routine to add hydration and a bit of healing and brightening as well. the benton snail bee ampoule is still superior among all, as it gives enough moisture and helps acne healing as well as brightening. while this one only lasts about 2 weeks, so i don't notice other effect like acne healing or brightening. looking at the ingredients, they have a bunch of mix stuff thrown in there, so if you are sensitive to one of the ingredients, it would be pain to find out which one because there are so many ingredients.
the serum on my hand unfortunately, i accidentally deleted the photo of the serum after being spread out and patted in |
that being said, among the toner, serum and cream from this line, my favorite would be the cream. i have no problem with it, but i think it's super lightweight so it would be okay to use in the morning. the second in line would be the serum and my least favorite would be the toner. that being said, i won't purchase the full size product because i'm not impressed with this set. i'd rather buy benton snail bee again, or cosrx snail essence. but if you're curious, the price is still reasonable, but both cosrx and benton are slightly cheaper though. some by mi products now are available here through several marketplace, so it's easy to get it now. but for me, no thank you.
