  • About me
i have finished a box of this mask before writing anything about it. i knew i have to be more diligent in writing my reviews, so i'll try to get better this time. anyway, i've written my review about foreo ufo before (you can read it here), but i never write anything about their masks. so this time i'll write about the masks that i've tried and i'll try. one of my past favorite is the "call it a night" one. so let's start with this one.

this is the description from the website: formulated with rich olive oil and rejuvenating ginseng, this deeply nourishing face mask is the perfect end to each day. all you need is 90-seconds to indulge in a relaxing UFO facial treatment that will leave your skin oh-so-smooth and dreamy soft.
key ingredients:
ginseng - known to help tone and rejuvenate, for skin that looks younger and more luminous.
olive oil - helps nourish and soften skin, leaving you with smooth skin that feels supple and replenished.
formulated without parabens, phenoxyethanol, silicones, disodium EDTA, mineral oil.
prep and nourish (30 seconds): warming, red LED, T-sonic
revitalize (60 seconds): warming, red LED, T-sonic

the packaging: it comes in a square purple box. there's description at the back in english and other languages as well as the ingredients list. there are 7 masks in a box. the individual mask has individual packaging that looks exactly like the box. there's also another description at the back of the individual packaging in various language.

description and ingredients list at the back
the scent: it does have floral scent and it's quite noticeable when it's freshly opened, but after gliding it all over my face, somehow the scent dissipates. but if you're sensitive to fragrance, maybe you'd want to avoid it. so far i don't have problem with the scent as it's quite subtle.

another description
the product: since this is a special mask for UFO, it comes in small circle shape fit for UFO device. the material is very soft and soaked in a lot of essence. the essence for this variation is a transparent gel type essence. the essence is very generous since i can use it for 3 cycle (3 times 90 seconds). if you have upgraded your foreo apps or you have the UFO2, you don't have to scan the barcode anymore as the mode is already saved in the apps. you just have to pick the picture of the mask that you want to use. you can also repeat the treatment after finishing the first 90 seconds.
the mask on the foreo
left: before
right: after
the result: this one is very moisturizing. after finishing the treatment, my face is soaked in the essence but i just need to pat it for a bit and my skin will absorbed it all. there's a bit tacky feeling after it's completely absorbed. but my skin is moisturized and glowing after using this mask. looks more supple.

so far this is my favorite variation of all foreo masks that i've tried. but lately, since the UFO2 released, they've been releasing more masks variation, so my favorite might changed. i think this might be suitable for all skin types, but if you have super oily skin, then you might want to skip a step as this is quite moisturizing. i totally will repurchase this one again if they're still available.
i've heard so many influencers promoting these two oils, the acne treatment and the luxurious oil. i always want to try them, but somehow i always postponed it. well, i guess shopee sales make it easier to do the purchasing. i bought both the acne treatment oil and the luxurious oil, but i bought the acne one in smaller size than the luxurious one since i thought i won't have acne forever. i never have bad breakouts like this one for so long, so i believe this would be temporary, thus smaller size for acne treatment one. i've tried the acne treatment first, you can read it here if you're interested. so now, let's talk about the luxurious oil.

this is the description from cnfstore website/their official shopee page: natural & organic, hydrating, soothing, brightening antioxidants, anti aging and anti microbial. for all skin types. luxurious face oil can help heal acne and mild breakouts, fade dark spots, acne scars, control sebum production and prevent acne and can be mixed with foundation for long lasting and flawless makeup. it's soothing, hydrating, brightening, antioxidant, anti-microbial, anti-aging, skin conditioning, skin smoothness, reduce acne scar/dark spot. suitable for all skin type, sensitive skin.
star ingredients: squalane oil, evening primrose oil, rosehip seed oil, sea buckthorn oil, macadamia seed oil, sweet almond oil, vitamin e, geranium essential oil, frankincense essential oil, lemon essential oil.
ingredients list: squalane, oenothera biennis (primrose) oil, rosa canina (rosehip) seed extract, hippophae rhamnoides fruit (sea buckthorn) oil, macadamia ternifolia seed oil, prunus amygdalus dulcis (sweet almond) oil, vegetable oil, d-gamma- tocopherol, d-delta-tocopherol, alpha-tocopherol, d-beta tocopherol (mixed tocopherols 95), levisticum officinale root (geranium) oil, boswellia carterii gum (frankincense) oil, citrus limon (lemon) peel oil.

description and ingredients list
the packaging: it comes in a patterned pink box with the name of the product at front along with a bit description. they put the star ingredients list on the side of the box and the complete list at the back. they seal the top and bottom part of the box with sticker. the oil itself comes in a glass bottle with label in similar design as the box. there's a bit description at front and ingredients list at the back of the label. it uses a dropper to dispense the product. however, the dropper in this bottle is a bit faulty. it's a little bit loose but fortunately i manage to fix it. so far it works okay, let's hope it doesn't fall off before i finish the product. there are several sizes available, from 5 ml to 20 ml. i got the 10 ml.

the scent: though this one doesn't have added fragrance, but it contains lots of oils and essential oils. obviously it would affect the scent of the oil. i honestly can't say how it smells like, but it's a bit floral but quite sharp. i've tried this for several days and still haven't got used to the scent. to be honest, the medicated scent of the acne treatment is still acceptable for me. luckily it doesn't linger that much.
the oil inside the dropper
the oil on my hand
after patting it in
the product: it's an orange runny oil. the texture is similar to acne treatment one, only this one is bright orange. but don't worry as it won't stain your face. just like the acne treatment oil, this one feels and acts like dry oil. it's absorbed quickly into my skin. the first three ingredients, squalane, evening primrose oil and rosehip seed oil are categorized as dry oil, so probably that's why it feels like a dry oil. this one can help with acne as well as evening primrose, frankincense, geranium and lemon essential oil are helping to treat and prevent acne. it also contains several brightening ingredients and anti aging stuff. the ingredients are totally suitable to the promise. anyway, i initially used this by rubbing it with my palm before putting it on my face. but that way, most of the oil have gone by the time i spread it on my face. however, i've looked again at other blogger applying it, and she used this by dropping it on her face straight before massaged it with her hands. so i did the same and it worked better that way. only i have to be careful when dropping it, so the dropper didn't touch my face and i worked quickly to massage it so it wouldn't dripping all over my face.
pic progress. some fading scars
my chin area
i mix it with acne treatment one sometimes since there are some active acnes
it got better for awhile and got worse again, and recovered again
the result: let's check the promise. hydrating yes. soothing, not so much. brightening, yes. i have to agree on this one. clearly this is the result that i can see since i don't use vitamin c serum or other brightening serum other than nutrishe bright and glow. and i can see that my complexion is clearer now. i can also say that it does help fade acne scars but it takes time. i forgot to take picture when my skin was in worse condition, but i noticed that in a week, after the acne has healed, the dark acne scar started to fade. as for anti aging, i need to use this longer.
right cheek progress
between may 31 and jun 6 i got an active acne that popped in two days
so the scar on jun 6 was pretty new
progress on left cheek
i got fresh popped acne around may 31 but already healed on jun 6
as expected, i like this one better than the acne treatment one. however, i do agree that i have to use this frequently. i almost don't see any changes when i only use this at night, but when i start using it twice a day, i started to notice the difference. i think all skin types can use this oil. for me personally, at this time i don't use retinol, and i use this at the end of my skincare routine and it works well as occlusive. as for me, i would repurchase this one rather than the acne treatment one. price wise, this oil is really more expensive as the price of 10 ml might be similar to the price of other 30 ml product and they rarely have sales, so when they do, make sure you snatch one.
i've said in another post that i decided to try sulwhasoo at last. they've been holding sales regularly since the pandemic started all over the marketplace. i think that the bloomstay line would suit me better but i also interested in FCAS since it is their best seller. so i bought two set. the bloomstay serum set and the FCAS set. both sets came in GWP as well. from the basic kit that i got from the bloomstay set, i've tried most of them. and it has several items that's the same as the ones from the FCAS set. the toner and the emulsion are the ones that comes in both kit. i've tried the toner, so let's talk about the emulsion.

this is the description from their website: a lightweight peony lotion formulated with mountain peony extract smooths uneven skin texture for a deeply hydrated and supple complexion. mountain peony extracts shines as the hero ingredient in this moisture-rich, fast-absorbing korean skincare emulsion that delivers intense hydration while smoothing. beta glucan from split gill mushroom (schizophyllum commune) ingredient in this emulsion helps clarify the complexion by visibly softening and refining skin texture. inside this bottle, you'll find a treasure trove of luxurious ingredients. it's infused with powerhouse hydrator like mango seed butter and licorice root extract to give skin an instantly soft and hydrated feel and mountain peony extract to help improve skin texture. the lightweight fluid adds a daily dose of moisture for oily to combination skin, and when paired with essential firming cream infuses extra nourishment for normal to dry skin.
ingredients: water, butylene glycol, hydrogenated poly (C6-14 olefin), octyldodecyl myristate, glycerin, polyglyceryl-3 methylglucose distearate, cetyl ethylhexanoate, limnanthes alba (meadowfoam) seed oil, hydrogenated vegetable oil, cetearyl alcohol, stearic acid, glyceryl stearate, mangifera indica (mango) seed butter, phenoxyethanol, dimethicone, glyceryl stearate citrate, propanediol, hydroxyethyl acrylate/sodium acryloyldimethyl taurate copolymer, fragrance, honey, carbomer, lilium candidum bulb extract, paeonia albiflora root extract, rehmannia glutinosa root extract, polygonatum officinale rhizome/root extract, nelumbo nucifera flower extract, tromethamine, ethylhexylglycerin, disodium EDTA, alcohol, limonene, camellia sinensis leaf extract, portulaca oleracea extract, glycyrrhiza uralensis (licorice) root extract, sodium hyaluronate, polysorbate 60, sorbitan isostearate, linalool, beta glucan, natto gum, citronellol, citral, geraniol, TBHQ, tocopherol.

the packaging: this emulsion comes in the basic kit that i got as freebies from the bloomstay line. it comes in a white/yellow box which is the signature color scheme for this line. there's a list of the products inside at the back of the box. all the products are placed on a plastic tray so all of them are safe and secure. the emulsion cames in a transparent plastic bottle that looks exactly like the toner bottle. it has the same chubby yellow screw cap just like the toner. both the toner and emulsion comes in 15 ml in this set and 30 ml in the FCAS set. the bottle looks white from the outside because the product inside is white. the bottle opening is the same size as the toner opening, but since the emulsion is quite thick, it's a bit hard to get it out without tapping the bottle on my palm several times.

the scent: this smells just like the toner. mild hanbang scent. the scent is not as strong as the eye cream one. at first i was afraid that it would smell too ginseng but i was wrong. i can handle the scent. but if you don't like added fragrance in your skincare, then you should skip it.
the bottle
the bottle opening
the product: the emulsion is a white lotion like. it looks and feels similar to my previous probiotic emulsion. i only use a tiny bit for the reason that i might explain later. it takes awhile for it to sink in and it leaves a bit of glow on my skin. if you take a look at the ingredients list, it contains lots of moisturizing agents such as butylene glycol, glycerin, beta glucan, tocopherol and hydrating agents such as sodium hyaluronate. however, this one contains lots of extract too. it also contains alcohol but it's near the end of the list. so if you're avoiding alcohol in your skincare, you should try it with caution.
how it looks like on my hand
after patted it in
the result: this one is quite moisturizing. it feels more emollient than my probiotic one. though the consistency is similar, somehow i feel this is more moisturizing. that's why i only need a tiny bit for my face and neck. i think normal to dry skin can like this more than oily skin. for me personally, i was afraid that it might be too rich for my skin. but somehow my skin absorbs it well. after using it regularly in combination with the toner and FCAS (let me remind you that i seldom use several items from the same line so this is the first time i do that), i can see my skin is getting better. i no longer got breakouts anymore. plus my skin is softer, smoother and more supple. what kind of magic is this?

okay.. i guess you can see that i do like the emulsion as well. even in hot days like these days, my skin still can absorb it well. quite a magic i would say. but i don't think i'll purchase the full size mainly because i think it's too expensive. if it comes in a set, i would gladly use it. well.. i guess i'm lucky enough that sulwhasoo product works for me so far as they are quite expensive. but if you want to splurge, sulwhasoo is a decent, well established brand, so you won't be disappointed in their products.
sulwhasoo has been on my wishlist since forever. i didn't buy it simply because i think on normal days, it would be too expensive for me. however, since the pandemic, sulwhasoo has been holding sales more frequently and they gave GWPs as well. i was originally interested in their bloomstay line as i think it would suit my skin better. but i also wanted to try the FCAS as it was their best sellers, so i got two sets. the bloomstay serum set and the FCAS set. i got basic set as gift from the bloomstay set. however, the products from the basic set is similar to the FCAS set, so for the toner and the emulsion, i won't write separate reviews as both are the same only in different size.

this is the description from their website: a quick-absorbing beauty water packed with moisturizing purslane and antioxidant-rich goji berries that delivers an instant surge of moisture while softening and hydrating skin. this lightweight gel-to-liquid beauty water is fortified with moisturizing purslane and antioxidant-rich goji berries to provide lasting hydration and enhance your skin's glow. not only does this hydrating beauty water sink in instantly, but this unique liquid densely packed with nourishing purslane and antioxidant-rich goji berries also addresses dryness and dehydration for noticeable dewiness. with continued daily use, this light-as-air formula leaves skin looking visibly smoother.
ingredients: water, alcohol, betaine, butylene glycol, glyceryl polymethacrylate, glycerin, PEG/PPG-17/6 copolymer, glycereth-26, phenoxyethanol, PEG-60 hydrogenated castor oil, bis-PEG-18 methyl etherdimethyl silane, honey, acrylates/c10-30 alkyl acrylate crosspolymer, nelumbo nucifera/flower extract, polygonatum officinale rhizome/root extract, rehmannia glutinosa root extract, paeonia albiflora root extract, lilium candidum bulb extract, ethylhexylglycerin, diphenyl silosy phenyl trimethicone, fragrance, portulaca oleracea extract, camellia sinensis leaf extract, potassium hydroxide, disodium EDTA, limonene, biosaccharide gum-1, glycyrrhiza uralensis (licorice) root extract, natto gum, sodium hyaluronate, linalool, propanediol, BHT, acetic acid, tocopherol, beta glucan.

the packaging: the basic set comes in a white/yellow box which is the signature color of sulwhasoo. there's a list of the products inside at the back. all the products are placed on a plastic tray inside so everything is safe and secure. the toner itself comes in a oval shaped transparent plastic bottle with yellow screw cap. the opening is the usual size for a toner sample opening. all the toner/emulsion bottles come in the same shape only in different color according to the line. in the basic set, the toner comes in 15 ml. while in the FCAS set it comes in 30 ml.

the scent: this has sulwhasoo's original scent, which is hanbang. it's a mix of a bit ginseng and herbal scent. however, the scent is surprisingly subtle. i think the eye cream smells stronger than the toner.
the toner bottle
the bottle opening
the product: when i tried it, i haven't read the description. i was worried that the toner might spill but even though i turn the bottle upside down, there's nothing coming out. so i have to tap it on my palm before the toner would come out. the toner is just as described. it's a gel to liquid toner. quite interesting. at first it would look viscous but as you spread it all over your face, it turns watery and sinks in nicely. if you read the ingredients list, this toner has a bunch of moisturizing ingredients. but it also contains alcohol as well. in fact, it's number 2 after water, so if you are avoiding alcohol, then you might have to skip this.
the toner on my hand
after patting it in
the result: after using it regularly, i can say that this toner is quite interesting. i was worried that it might be too rich. however, this toner sinks in nicely and gives subtle glow. it's hydrating yet at the same time it's a bit moisturizing as well. if i have to compare it with the bloomstay one, this one is a notch more moisturizing, but only just a bit. after it's absorbed, there's no tacky feeling. anyway, after using this regularly, even though it's been hot lately here, my skin seems glowing and not oily. honestly, i don't know what kind of sorcery this is, but i do like it.

gee.. i feel like i'm digging my own grave. i was reluctant to try sulwhasoo mainly because i was afraid i might like it and not afford to repurchase it on normal price. and i was right. i do like this toner. however, if i have to be picky, i would splurge on the FCAS and not the toner. i think this toner might be suitable for all skin types, and i can layer it with other skincare products. so as long as you know what other stuff to put on top of it, you'll be fine. but if you have super oily skin and maybe not so mature skin, the bloomstay line would be a better choice.
i've been seeing bio beauty lab all over my instagram. being a curious head, obviously i became interested. they only have two products in their line up, the luxurious oil and the acne treatment. at first i just interested in their luxurious oil because so many instagrammer, from beauty influencer to just other type of influencer promote this oil. however, since i've been getting acne here and there, i decided to grab the acne oil as well. they had several bundles which you can choose, and i decided to pick the 10 ml luxurious with 5 ml acne oil. sadly, they don't have sales as often as other brands, so make sure to grab it when there is sales going on.

this is the description from sociolla website/their shopee page (translated to english because it's originally in indonesia): treat acne, reduce inflammation and soothe redness on skin. this serum is suitable for any skin types, from dry skin, sensitive skin, oily skin, to problematic skin. acne treatment facial oil serum: treat acne, anti-bacterial, reduce acne scar, repair skin barrier, hydrating, soothing, antioxidant. suitable for acne prone skin, sensitive skin. natural and organic ingredients, fragrance free, paraben free, cruelty free.
this is taken from the box: how to use - apply two to four drops of acne treatment facial oil serum onto the palm of your hand. dab or pat the oils, push them into your skin. apply as the last step of your nighttime skin care routine and before your sunscreen in the morning.
extra hydration - mix your favorite moisturizer or hand & body lotion with few drops of acne treatment facial oil serum for extra hydration.
as makeup base - apply 2-3 drops of oil to the face and neck. allow the oil to absorb before applying your makeup for a natural, hydrated glow.
star ingredients: grapeseed oil, jojoba oil, squalane oil, tamanu seed oil, neem seed oil, vitamin e, tea tree essential oil, rosemary essential oil, lavender essential oil.
ingredients list: vitis vinifera (grapeseed) oil, simmondsia chinensis (jojoba) seed oil, squalane, calophyllum inophyllum (tamanu) seed oil, d-alpha tocopherol, d-gamma tocopherol, alpha tocopherol, d-beta tocopherol (mixed tocopherol 95), melaleuca alternifolia (tea tree) leaf oil, rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary) leaf oil, lavandula angustifolia (lavender) oil.

the packaging: it comes in a light green box with some pattern on it. you can see the label at front, star ingredients on the side, then description in indonesia and the complete ingredients list at the back. some more description on the side in english. they only use transparent tape to secure the box, top and bottom. there are various size of the oils, 5 ml is their smallest size, and i think 20 ml is their biggest size. i bought the 5 ml one since i think i won't need too much of this oil. i heard i can use this as spot treatment, so i decided to use it that way. the oil comes in a small glass bottle with label that has the same design as the box. just like other oil, it use dropper to dispense the product. there's a short description on the label at front, but it was written in white so i can barely read the description.
the box
descriptions on the box
clear tape to secure the box
the scent: gee.. how come no one warn me about the scent? it has strong medicated scent. or like massage oil scent. i assume the scent comes from tamanu seed oil, but i might be wrong. anyway, the scent would dissipate after a while, but my son claimed that he still could smell it. and he didn't like it. he said i was smelly. hahaha...
the bottle and the box
the oil in the dropper
the product: it's a pale yellow oil, quite runny, pretty similar to huxley light oil. the dropper works okay, but if you shake it a bit harder, the oil might spill before you pinch the dropper. i only use 1-2 drops since i only use this as spot treatment. i might need more if i were to use it all over my face. i've tried using this as spot treatment, mixed with toner or essence, and on its own at the end of my skincare routine to replace my moisturizer. for spot treatment, even though i only use a drop or two, it would be too oily and somehow takes very long to be absorbed. if i mixed it with toner or essence, it's absorbed almost instantly but i can managed to get it all around my face. if i used it on its own, i use three or four drops and rub it with my palm before spreading it all around. this way, the oil is dried already before i finish spreading it to my whole face. a bit update: i also tried using it with dropping it straight to my face and then massage it with my finger. somehow this method works the best for me, only i have to be careful so the dropper doesn't touch my face and i have to work quickly before the oil's dripping all over my face. i guess this can be categorized as dry oil. looking at the ingredients, there are grapeseed and squalane that's categorized into dry oil. but there are jojoba and tamanu as wet oils as well. most oils in the ingredients are moisturizing and being antioxidant, antimicrobial and anti-inflammation. so i guess that's why they put it in a mix of oils to treat acne.
the oil on my hand
after blending it
the result: lately i often get cystic acne and it's a bit tricky to treat. for the first three days i only used this for my cystic acne, but it didn't change anything. even the acne started to hurt since it was quite inflamed to the point that i couldn't stand it and use my foreo for almost 5 days straight. after using the foreo for 3 days, i started to notice the size of the acne shrunk significantly, then i use some more for the next two days but the size didn't change much. then i use the oil again on its own without the foreo. at this point, the oil starts to work better since the acne has shrunk significantly. now there's only a tiny bump on the top of my nose bridge and even smaller bump on my chin. the oil takes quite some time to be absorbed. and i can still feel a layer of it still on my face when i wash my face the next morning. but i read somewhere that this oil works on cystic acne better than smaller acne. so i decided to put it all over my face and take note. i have to agree though that the oil works to mature the acne and not shrink the size. another update: i've read somewhere that you have to use this often, meanwhile i only use this once a day at night. so i tried use this twice a day, and i have to say that it worked better that way. if i have smaller acne, the size would reduce but not as significant as when i used my foreo. lately i don't get cystic acne anymore, so i can't say anything about using the last method on cystic acne.
progress on acne on my nose bridge
from april 9-11 i use foreo ufo, so the size shrunk a bit however, it still looks inflamed
progress on my chin
again, from apr 9-11 i use foreo, so after that the size started to shrink
progress on my right cheek
i use erha acne, because it has popped.
notice that it dried out faster after combining it with foreo ufo
but the one at the bottom that i use with the oil still inflamed a bit
i have to say that this oil is not working as fast as i want to be and i keep getting problem with acne popping here and there. the acne is even getting bigger and more inflamed and then mature. i have to say i don't like that process since i prefer my acne shrinks and not inflamed. i also have to agree that once it pops, it doesn't have speed up the healing process. unlike the erha acne spot gel. between the two, i have to say i like erha spot get better since it helps speeding up the healing process. anyway, i'm glad this one has various sizes to try from. price wise, it's more expensive considering i pay for 5 ml for the same price that i usually pay for a full size oil (around 20-30 ml). however, this is only my experience. i suggest you try it yourself since there are a lot of people like this oil. it might work better for you. as for me, i probably won't repurchase.
i don't know why but i never tried hada labo cleansing oil aside from the mini size that was in the set of their starter. i don't even know whether it's the same item or not. anyway, on my latest trip to japan (which was ages ago) i managed to get hada labo cleansing oil to try. i was blindly buying it because it's hada labo. and i was surprised when i look at olive oil picture on the label taped in front of the bottle. you know how much i don't like olive oil as main ingredients in my cleansing oil. i'm hoping this would be different.

this is the description from their website (it's google-translated so it might sound funny): a high-purity olive oil (cleansing ingredient) carefully selected for its gentleness to the skin, and two types of hyaluronic acid (moisturizing ingredient) Na acetyl hyaluronate and hydroxypropyltrimonium hyaluronate. you can also remove waterproof mascara for a gentle wash without getting taut. fragrance-free, no coloring, mineral oil free, alcohol free. recommended for use with dry face and hands. take an appropriate amount (2-3 pushes) on the palm and spread it over the entire face to blend with makeup. then rinse well with water or lukewarm water and wash with a cleaner.
ingredients list: ethylhexyl palmitate, triethylhexanoin, sorbeth-30 tetraisostearate, PEG-20 glyceryl triisostearate, olive fruit oil, water, sodium acetylhyaluronate, hydroxypropyltrimonium hyaluronate, jojoba seed oil, (palmitate/ethyl) hexanoic acid) dextrin, propynyl butyl carbamate iodide, BHT.

the packaging: japanese products don't come in excessive packaging. they usually don't come in boxes. including this one. it only comes in a plastic bottle with pump head. the whole bottle is covered by yellow/green label. there's description at the back of the bottle but everything is in japanese. it comes in 200 ml. they secure the pump head with the usual stopper.
the bottle
the scent: remember when i told you that i was worried that this might smell like DHC which also contains olive oil? well.. turns out i was wrong. it doesn't smell anything like olive oil. but i think it smells a little bit like cough mixture that i made during my med school days.
description at the back
the product: it's a runny oil, similar to kose speedy cleansing oil. it's easy to spread around and emulsify a bit when it's mixed with water. it washes off easy just like other cleansing oil that i've tried before. one thing that i notice is that this one doesn't sting my eyes as much as other cleansing oil.
pump head and the stopper
the result: since the pandemic started, we've been staying at home mostly, so i don't use makeup as much as before. i just used them because i've had them so rather than letting them expired, i better use them as much as i can. anyway, i don't have japanese mascara anymore, so i don't use separate mascara remover like i used to. but so far this cleansing oil managed to clean my mascaras. other makeup products are easily removed as usual. please note that i don't use long lasting lip cream anymore or lip stain, so the result might different for different makeup item.

second pic: after adding the cleansing oil
third pic: after adding water, it emulsify a bit
last pic: after washing it off, all is cleaned
i am glad this one doesn't smell too olive oil like DHC one. i don't know why people don't talk about this one much. even among other skincare influencer, i rarely saw hada labo cleansing oil. their toners, often i see, but not the cleansing oil. as for me, i would like to repurchase this and put it in my cleansing oil rotation only when travelling to japan is allowed again. until then, i might resort to other product that i can get easily here. price wise, all hada labo products are really affordable. even more so when you get it straight in japan.
as i've said in my other post, i decided to give in and bought two sulwhasoo sets. one is from their bloomstay line, and one is for their FCAS line. both sets only have one product that comes in full size and the other only comes in sample sizes. both sets also come with GWPs. since the pandemic started, sulwhasoo has been holding sales more than usual (or maybe i'm the one that's been paying more attention since the pandemic?) so i decided to give it a try when they have sales. i've tried the toner from this bloomstay line, so this time i'll try the FCAS in gentle blossom scent which is included in the same set.

the packaging: i bought this in a set, so it comes in beautiful pink box with the list of the products inside at the back. fyi, this set contains full size bloomstay serum (30 ml), bloomstay water/toner (15 ml), FCAS in gentle blossom (15 ml), and the cream (5 ml). all the products are placed on a plastic tray inside the box. it's very secure so everything come safely. the FCAS itself comes in white plastic bottle with pink pump head covered with pink plastic cap. the shape of the bottle is similar to the full size one, only this one comes in plastic bottle, and not glass. i think the gentle blossom edition is a limited edition. i remember there's a set of 5 FCAS with colorful cap. each bottle has different scent, and plum blossom is one of them, in pink. i bet it's the same as the one in this set.

the scent: as described, it has refreshing floral scent that goes together well with the bloomstay line. i think it smells the same as the bloomstay products. the scent itself is quite distinctive when you freshly pump it on your hand, and it lingers for some time but it's not overwhelming. they intend to add fragrance to add some experience to your skincare routine, so if you're sensitive to fragrance or you're avoiding fragrance in your skincare, then sulwhasoo might not be a good choice as so far all their products are scented. for me personally, i totally like the gentle blossom scent. gee... i wish i could smell them everytime.

the product: i think the product itself is the same from the original line. it's a brownish runny gel serum. if i have to describe the texture, it's more like brownish maple syrup. it glides easily and easy to spread around to my skin and takes seconds to be absorbed. afterward, there's not tackiness left behind. if you never heard about FCAS before, it's meant to be used the first time after you wash your face, just like FTE. you might be worried as it's a little bit viscous (while FTE looks and feels like water), but don't worry as it's easily absorbed and doesn't inhibit all products that you put on your skin afterward.

the result: this stuff becomes best-sellers for a reason. it does works. at first i also thinking this might be too viscous to deliver hydration. but after trying it for a week, i started to notice that it does help adding hydration and moisture to my skin. as i keep using it, i can see my skin looks healthier, despite some acne breakouts due to hormonal imbalance. my skin looks more radiant as well. at this point when i tried this FCAS, i was no longer using lots of brightening product. the only remaining brightening product that i used was nutrishe serum (contains arbutin).

i do wish that sulwhasoo make the FCAS gentle blossom scent permanent in their line. i will try the FCAS in its original after this, so i might update which one i like better or whether there's any difference in its performance. if you don't know, the original FCAS has sulwhasoo signature scent which you might remember the scent being called as hanbang scent. like there's a mix of herbal and ginseng scent. for me personally, if you want to splurge, i totally suggest you try the FCAS first before trying other product from sulwhasoo. since they have sales quite often, i suggest you wait for sale to buy it. as for me, i do wish i can buy FCAS gentle blossom in full size, but if i can't, probably i'll buy the original one next time.
