if you read my blog since the beginning, you might find that i usually try things at drugstore prices. mostly because i believe drugstore-priced products are hidden gem. you don't have to pay a lot to get good stuff. however, it always my dream to try sulwhasoo products. i've tried their overnight vitalizing mask samples years ago and i liked it. since the pandemic started, some high brands have been putting their products on sale quite frequently. and the prices are getting more affordable, considering it comes in set or have lots of freebies. so i decided to get two sets. the bloomstay serum kit and the FCAS set. both comes with freebies. for the FCAS set, i got the basic kit as freebies. this eye cream is included in the basic kit. i remember i've tried some eye cream sample years ago, but i can't remember the complete name, so let's hope this one is different.
this is the description from the website: helps strengthen and revitalize the fragile skin around the eyes. an essential product to protect the delicate skin around the eyes. enzymes from korean red ginseng saponin effectively diminish the appearance of fine lines around the eyes, while honey keep the skin healthy. smoothly wraps the skin in moisture, leaving a silky finish. all-over moisture leaves the skin around the eyes softened, soothed, and refreshed.

the packaging: since i got this as freebies in basic kit set, it comes in white-yellow box which is the usual signature color for their original line. in the set, you'd get FCAS EX 8 ml, essential balancing water EX 15 ml, essential balancing emulsion EX 15 ml, essential rejuvenating eye cream EX 3,5 ml, and concentrated ginseng renewing cream 5 ml. all the products are placed in a plastic tray so all products are safe and secure. the eye cream itself comes in a white plastic tube with yellow plastic cap. when you open the cap, you can see the tiny pump head. there's a bit description at the back in korean.

the scent: it has sulwhasoo's signature scent, which some bloggers said as hanbang scent. the scent is stronger than the one in the snowise cleansing foam. you can also read in the ingredients list that this has added fragrance at the end of the list. so if you have sensitive nose or sensitive to fragrance, you might want to avoid it. i personally don't mind scented product, but not for eye cream. i think scentless eye cream is better.
how it looks like on my finger |
after patting it |
the product: it's a white cream. it's thicker than my previous eye serum, but it's understandable since this one is targeted for anti aging. i was worried that this one might be too rich for my eyes area since i contains some oils on top of other moisturizing agents like butylene glycol, betain, glycerin, and stuff. however, this also contains lots of extract. considering that i nowadays use products that is simpler in its ingredients, somehow i'm a little bit worried since this one has a bunch of stuff thrown in. if i have reaction with one of the ingredients, i might not know which one is it.
progress pic if i could say, it helps brighten my under eye and smooth few lines |
the result: this one is definitely moisturizing. after i spread it around, i immediately feel the added moisture that it gives. up until now i think this is the most moisturizing eye cream that i've tried. my eyes area has never this soft. and it doesn't cause milia. some eye cream might cause milia because it's too rich, but this one doesn't. honestly, since using this eye cream, i often sleep late. and i don't use my eye massager to truly document the eye cream on its own. as you can see in the picture, it brightens my under eyes area a bit, less puffy and smoothes few lines. i guess keep using this regularly would give better result.
i honestly quite surprised looking at the progress picture. i know for sure i don't sleep early and it took a toll on my eyes. sometimes i would wake up with puffy eyes. but looking at the picture i'm quite surprised i don't look like panda considering how minimal i sleep these days. and another thing, i still haven't finished the sample! so i guess if you want to make investment aside from FCAS, the eye cream is worth buying.
