dear me beauty hyaluronic acid and watermelon serum

i bought this as i thought i can use this with my foreo bear, but i guess not. anyway, if you're missing out, around last year dear me beauty released a bunch of serums packaged in light-bulb bottles. there are two sizes, so i decided to buy some of their smaller sizes to try. luckily, they're not always sold out, so even though i didn't buy them straight when they were freshly launched, i can still try them at the end.

this is translated from their catalogue: hyaluronic acid, formulated with mini oligo HA or smaller molecular type hyaluronic that's designed to penetrate skin deeper so it helps hydrate and smooth skin, make skin supple, increase skin barrier function, fight aging signs such as fine lines and wrinkles on skin.
benefits:
- increase skin elasticity and maintain skin moisture
- gives maximal hydration to skin layers
- helps reduce trans-epidermal water loss (TEWL)
- helps increase skin barrier function
- helps calm down inflamed skin because of acne
suitable for: dry skin, dry patches and flakiness, dehydrated skin, aging skin
ingredients list: water, propylene glycol, hyaluronic acid, propanediol, glycerin, ethylhexylglycerin, citric acid, sodium benzoate, potassium sorbate, sodium citrate, soluble collagen
the box
the packaging: it comes in white box and the color combination is coded to the type of the serum. for the hydrator serums like this one, the color is red, so the box is red/white combination. there are descriptions on the box in indonesian as well as the ingredients list. the box is similar to elsheskin moisturizer, that you can open it completely flat and there's more description on the inside just like the other serum. as i've mentioned, there are two sizes, 12 ml for the sample size and 32 ml for the full size. i know, the size is weird. usually it will be 10 ml and 30 ml, but i don't exactly measure it, so it might be 10 and 30. anyway, the serum comes in light-bulb shape transparent glass bottle with dropper to dispense the product. the neck color is coordinated to the type, so it's red as well. my complaint is the dropper is really short so once i'm left with a quarter left, it's hard to get it with the dropper and i have to just pour it on my palm.
description and ingredients list
the scent: as you can see in the ingredients list, there's no added fragrance and luckily, there's no weird synthetic scent that comes from the serum.
the bottle and additional description inside
the product: this one is a watery type serum, totally like toner. it looks and feels similar to the cica serum that i've tried before. since it's watery, it's very quick to absorbed and doesn't leave tacky feeling. i'm quite surprised to see short ingredients list but as you can see, it's very simple with hydrating and moisturizing stuff.
the serum inside the dropper
the result: i have to say among three other hydrator serums that i've tried, this might be my least favorite. basically it feels like a toner. it doesn't help much, especially since my toner is more heavy lifting than this one. so i feel it's a bit meh. but it does hydrate, just.. not much.
how it looks like on my hand
after patted it in
as you can see, i'm glad i didn't buy the full size as this one is a bit meh. the hydration that it provides is minimal, less than the inoceramide one, similar to the cica one, but the cica one has soothing property so it does have a bit something else rather than this one. anyway, if you're looking for a basic, hydrating serum, then this might be a choice. it does what it claims, it doesn't have added fragrance and the price is really affordable. but if you like something more, then you should skip this. oh, and the reason i think it might not go with my foreo bear is, it's too thin like toner. i don't think it will provide smooth canvas for my bear to glide all over my face. that being said, won't repurchase this one.
