byoma hydrating serum

if you read my other post, then you'd know that prior to my US travel visit, i put up a long list of stuff that i wanted to buy while in the US. and actually, i didn't plan to buy any skincare as i wasn't sure about western skincare products. however, i thought i might regret if i didn't try some, so i browsed and found byoma. since it is available at target, i thought my chance of finding them is bigger. anyway, at first i wanted to try their clarifying serum, but at the last minute, i changed my mind and got the hydrating one instead. do i make a wise decision?

this is the description from their website: this ultra-lightweight, moisture-boosting facial serum is enriched with hydrating heroes for bouncy, glowing skin and strengthened daily skin barrier function. featuring our unique barrier boosting tri-ceramide complex (ceramides, cholesterol, fatty acids) combined with a powerhouse pairing of squalane and glycerin (to replenish skin's moisture level) delivers a surge of instant hydration with long-lasting results. trans-epidermal water loss (TEWL), redness, drynes, and flakiness is minimized to support happier, healthier, daily skin function. skin feels instantly smooth, soft and nourished.
benefit: lightweight hydrating facial serum for a bouncy, dewy finish. delivers a surge of hydration and minimizes water loss in the skin. unique tri-ceramide complex to support skin barrier health. hydrating heroes glycerin and squalane to replenish moisture levels.

key ingredients:
- tri-ceramide complex: byoma's carefully researched tri-ceramide complex is designed to mimic and replenish the essential lipids found in skin. formulated with the 3 key components of the stratum corneum-ceramides, cholesterol, and fatty acids - to rebuild the skin barrier and restore natural moisture levels, ensuring skin functions at its best every single day.
- squalane
- glycerin

The bottle
the packaging: since this is a drugstore product, there's no box that comes with it. it's just a blue plastic square bottle with dropper to dispense the product. there's description and the ingredients list on the sides and back. the serum comes in 30 ml which is the normal size for any other serum. i totally forgot whether it came with plastic sealing or not.
The ingredients list is not as descriptive as the moisturizer
the scent: i've just finished this serum but i kind of forget how it smells. i think this one is scentless but luckily no foul scent either.
How it looks like inside the dropper
the product: this one is a milky runny lotion type serum. since this is runny, it's easy to dispense it out with the dropper. i usually use a full dropper or a dropper (or add a half more if it’s not enough) for my whole face and neck. i notice my skin likes ceramide lately, that's why when my skin went awry during my travel in the US, i decided to grab this one without second thought.
How it looks like on my hand
the result: even though i’ve brought a hydrating/moisturizing serum, it wasn't enough for my skin during dry, cold and windy spring weather. and i was right. just after a day of using this twice a day, my skin started to get better. this one is hydrating and lightweight, but still moisturizing as well. it layers well with my other skincare and even though i kept using it after i got home, it is still okay for my skin under different weather.
After blending it
turned out i made a good choice picking this one out instead of the clarifying. i just wish it comes in bigger size so i can enjoy this longer. oh well, i think this serum might be suitable for all skin type. unfortunately, byoma is not available in indonesia, but you can buy them from preorder shops. however, the price might not be drugstore-price anymore since the conversation rate is bad. as for me, i'm happy to ever try this serum. i might repurchase this if i ever come across byoma again.
