settled better half lux antioxidant oil serum

couple months ago, i decided to try some underrated local brands. there were a few that i had my eyes on since i saw them on IG. but after looking at the descriptions and the ingredients up close, i started to drop some and decided to wait on some. anyway, i ended up buying the settled one. i've tried their apple-y serum and quite like it (but it's not that special that i want to repurchase) so let's try the other one. this one is a serum and oil combination, which is similar to that scream serum? anyway, i want to give this a try.

the bottle
the packaging: this one comes in a green box with description and ingredients list at the back and side. the serum itself comes in a transparent glass bottle without any description at the back, aside from the brand and serum name at front. since it's transparent, you can see the dual phase from the outside and it looks pretty. they choose a dropper to dispense the product which i have no problem with since it works okay. the serum comes in 30 ml which is a normal size for a serum, but not for local brand. usually they only come in 15 or 20 ml.
dual layers serum: pretty isn't it?
after shaking it vigorously
the scent: this is the part where i have problem with this serum. it smells awful. they don't add any additional fragrance to the serum, thus the only scent that might come from this serum is from the ingredients. i don't know what cause it, but i suspect that it might be because it's made of various oil mix, so it might attribute to the scent. i have to hold my breath for a few seconds every time i use this serum.
how it looks like in the dropper
the product: as described, it's a dual phase serum, which means there are two layers. one is the oil, it's on top and it is the pale yellow on top. the other one is the water-based serum, which is on the bottom and it takes up almost three quarter of the serum. it looks greenish so combined together, it looks pretty in the bottle. when i squirt it on my palm after i shake it well, i can see the droplets of oil in between the watery serum. it's easy to spread around and even though it's oily, it doesn't take long to be absorbed. i use a full dropper for my whole face and neck.
on my hand
the result: it feels like dry oil after i patted it around. it doesn't feel too oily and i can still put a night cream on top of this serum. this feels similar to the scream serum that i used in the past. maybe more on the lightweight side? it feels moisturizing but still being lightweight. it works well against the retinol and acid that i used in my routine.
the subtle glow that it gives after
it's a shame though. even though this serum looks pretty and works well, i can't enjoy this serum because of the foul scent. i wish they think twice about the whole no fragrance thing because it might affect the whole experience. as for me, even though this works well for me, i don't think i'll repurchase since i can't stand the scent. it's really a shame though. anyway, the serum is affordable, so if you're curious about this one, you should go and buy one. i think it'll be suitable for all skin type. maybe just use it at night if you feel it's too oily to use in the morning.
