i was in hongkong last year, and i honestly had no clue what to buy over there. i only knew that i want to buy papa recipe masks and i got it in such a good deal. but then i want to buy a little bit makeup, and i decided to grab an eyeliner because i believe my on going eyeliner is running low (but trust me, it lasts longer than i thought). dolly wink is quite famous in eyeliner game, but somehow i didn't buy it when i was in japan last time, so when i see that they have a liquid brown one, i decided to buy it.
this is the description from prettyandcute website: koji dolly wink eyeliner is back with its third edition of its fantastic brown liquid eyeliner. this renewed version is more pigmented than the second, and glides on very smoothly to create a nice crisp line. this vivid liner lasts all day long, and quickly dries once applied. smudge-free formula that's resistant to sweat, water and tear! you can never go wrong with obtaining tsubasa masuwaka's miracle dolly wink liner.

the packaging |
the packaging: it comes in usual eyeliner packaging, with cardboard backing and has hard plastic cover like the one in toothbrush packaging. on the front side, you can see the picture of tsubasa which is a distinctive mark from dolly wink. they also indicated whether it's pencil or liquid eyeliner and a picture of the tip of the eyeliner. you can also see the shade of the eyeliner (although you can just see the color of the cap since it's brown cap when it's a brown eyeliner).
|
the back side |
the color: the color is similar to my previous k-palette eyeliner, but just a tad richer/deeper. at first it appears a little bit glossy when freshly applied, but after some time, it doesn't look glossy but not super matte either. oh, and it's more of dark brown, so it's dark enough to define but not as dark as black eyeliner.
|
the eyeliner pen (the cap might appear black but it's brown) |
the product: the eyeliner comes in pen shape. the body colour is varied, the brown eyeliner has purple body with brown cap (while the black one has pink body and black cap), which is cute and practical because you can easily grab the one that you want to use without having to check the label or open and try it first (like dejavu ones.. they all comes in fuchsia body and almost no label!). the applicator is a brush tip, which is not as sturdy as felt tip, but not too flimsy either.
|
the brush tip |
the result: the brush tip is really easy to use just like k palette and dejavu. the tip size is in between dejavu and k palette. the k palette is bigger while dejavu is slightly thinner. but it can draw thin and thick line depends on how you hold your brush. even though it's a brush tip, i can manage doing a cat eye using this eyeliner. you have to wait a few minute until it's completely dried and it will be smudgeproof and waterproof.

swatch on hand |
you can definitely say that i love this eyeliner too. somehow the japanese always make it right when it comes to eyeliners and mascaras. that's why on my recent trip to japan, i decided to buy the black one to see if there's no difference of the formula between shades. i definitely recommend you trying dolly wink eyeliner and probably every japanese eyeliners because they're good. price point, this is slightly more expensive than k palette but cheaper than dejavu.
