if you've read my other post about my wish list, then you might know that i've been eyeing on some liquid highlighter. i know that i'm a bit late on this highlighter trend, but i don't care. i'm sure i won't spend that much money on cover fx, so i'm hoping to get makeup revolution one. but apparently, it's hard to find here, even the online shop that do sell it here sells them in much higher price, which is bummer. and there's not many online shop that sell makeup revolution products here. so, when i saw wet n wild is going to launch their liquid highlighter, i'm thrilled. wet n wild is easier to find as many online shop sells their products here in quite decent price (it's still higher, but it's understandable). i'm being patience and watching lots of review about them and looking at swatches and decided to get "halo goodbye". my usual online shop only carries two shades that i'm sure it will too dark for me, so i wait a little longer to find that there's another online shop that sells all 6 shades! i'm excited and buy it last month. i've been trying it as much as i can, so let's see if it's worth the wait.
the description from their website: intense is the name of the game with this buildable liquid highlighter that delivers a multi-shimmer glow thanks to its shimmering pearl pigments. the hydrating formula is infused with powerhouses like murumuru seed butter, grapeseed oil, and vitamin e to help smooth out the skin's texture. you'll look radiant - even after a sleepless night.
there are 7 shades (i think there's "halo gorgeous" is one shade that you can only buy online or something): halo gorgeous (darker pink than rosy ready), halographic (the iridescent one), halo goodbye (pinkish silvery), rosy and ready (pink), guilded glow (light champagne gold), go with the glow (darker gold), goddess glow (bronze).

the packaging: one thing that holds me down from buying this liquid highlighter is the packaging. some youtubers mentioned that it's made of glass, and i don't like glass bottles mainly because i have toddlers, very active toddlers. but i decided to get it anyway. and it's really made of glass, the body is colored according to the shades. now, i haven't used it long enough to make conclusion that it's a see-through glass. it has plastic screw cap with applicator attached to it. the tip is doe foot one. one youtuber mentioned that it's "shape tape" applicator, which basically big doe foot applicator. i find it a bit weird, but once i get the hang of it, it works okay for me.

the color: there are 7 shades, but one shade is online-exclusive if i'm not mistaken. the color ranges from light to dark, so no matter what skin tones you are, there is one for you. as for me, i'm getting the halo goodbye, which is pinkish silvery. now, at first i don't notice the glitter in it, but the other day i watched another review on youtube and the youtuber mentioned that it has glitter in it. so i look closely to mine and it does have glitter in it. so you might want to consider that if you're not a glitter person.

the doe foot applicator |
the product: it has creamier formula. it's not as liquid as maybelline liquid highlighter that's why the doe foot applicator is perfect to dot the product on my face. probably because it has oil in the ingredients, there's an oily slip feeling when i try to blend the product. on the initial swatch, you can barely see the glitter. but if you're looking more closely, then you can see tiny glitters in it. it's more noticeable once blended though.

the result: i still learning how to apply this liquid highlighter best for me. so far i've tried dot it with the applicator then blend it with my finger, with ecotools sponge, and with large blending brush. i don't like the result using the brush, so it's better to blend with either my finger or my sponge. with finger, however, i have difficulty as it tends to shift the blush underneath or other base underneath, so i have to use very light pressure to blend. as with sponge, somehow sometimes i think it absorbs some of the product so i have to add more everytime i use my sponge. i also have tried using it underneath the foundation, on top of foundation but under powder, and on top of powder. the last order is really difficult to work with as the highlighter will shift the base product underneath, so i usually use it under foundation or on top of foundation but before powder. as for under foundation, i have to apply a bit more because it tends to vanish when i put foundation on top. the lasting power is quite disappointing, only 3 hours top, and then you will only get glitter on your face. it doesn't as intense as elf of kiko highlighter either.

after blending it |
update: i was getting frustrated with this highlighter as i didn't seem to find the right combination to get this highlighter right. but then i was on holiday and i decided to give this highlighter another chance. i packed up a bb cushion as base. and somehow it works well. the bb cushion doesn't shift when i put this highlighter on top. i feel like the foundation is drier than the bb cushion so the bb cushion can stick to the highlighter better. i also find blending it with my finger is easier and somehow the powder make it lasts all day long. although it will get messy at the end of the day though. the glitter is spreading everywhere on my face but the highlighter still sticks a little bit.

i have mixed feeling about this product. i realize when i bought this, there are about 50-50 reviews of this product. some like it and some don't like it. it doesn't even get "tati approved" label since it's not as intense as loreal lumi highlighter. but for me, it's perfect for that no makeup makeup day, although it still has glitter in it which is not ideal for perfect "no makeup" makeup day. and now after i find the right combination, i think it will stick around for awhile. as for you, i think you have to decided for yourself whether you like it or not. if i have to say, the color selection is okay, although not great but it still offers something for lighter skin to deeper skin. as for the formula, i think dry to combination skin can work something with this highlighter, but for super oily skin, it will slip off your face fast. and the glitter itself. some people might not like it, but i think it's acceptable since i can only see the glitter up close. but again, this depends on personal taste. on the budget side, it's affordable so it won't hurt your wallet if you decide to buy it. as for me, i don't think i'll repurchase since there are a lot of highlighters liquid, stick and powder in the market that i wanted to try.
