essence make me brow eyebrow gel mascara

for years i've been taking advantage of my bushy eyebrows. i have thick eyebrows, but it's untidy and not balanced. one side is arching slightly higher than the other. i knew that because one of the makeup artist that has handled my face this long told me that. before that i knew that my face is asymmetrical but i can't figure out which part. then i decided to try the easy way first, eyebrow pencil. then i went to japan and i went shopping spree on eyebrow products. 3 in 1 eyebrow product, 2 in 1 eyebrow product... all i haven't tried was eyebrow gel. and i don't think i'll ever need one, but then i watch sarah therese's video and she said that she used only eyebrow gel if she's in a hurry. and she loves essence eyebrow gel. then i found out that my local online shop got this one and it was affordable, so i decided to get one to see whether it's really useful for moms or not.

this is the description from their website: fill up.. 3 in 1, color, density, and shape! the tinted gel of the make me brow eyebrow gel mascara contains tiny fibers that fill in any unwanted gaps for beautifully defined and full eyebrows.
there are 3 shades, blondie brow, browny brow, soft browny brow.

the packaging: it comes in short plastic tube. i think the color of the body is coordinated according to the shade. mine is the browny brow so it's basically the darkest option so the tube is dark brown just like the shade's name. you can see the shade on the bottom. i don't remember it's having any sort of sealing, or perhaps it only has plastic sealing on the outer part.

the color: as i've said, i bought the darkest one. i was torn between soft browny brow or browny brow, but since i don't color my hair again (the coloured part is halfway down my hair length), i think getting the darkest one is the right pick. and it's really dark brown, neutral tone, not too warm, and leaning toward black. so, if i used too much, i will looked like i'm angry.

the product: the wand is attached to the cap just like mascara. but the size of the wand is smaller. almost a quarter of normal mascara wand. it's has cone shape, so it's narrow at the tip and wider at the base. although they said that it has some kind of fiber, i can't see any in it. the heroine mascara claims to have some fibers and i can see the fibers sticking out from the bristles. not even when i'm swatching it on my hand. compared to my body shop eyebrow mascara, the formula is a lot drier than the body shop one.

the result: now, i didn't have any previous experience with eyebrow mascara, so i have no idea what to expect. but the bristles is soft enough and doesn't hurt my eyebrow when i used it to brush my eyebrow. however, when i try to apply i can't seem to see the difference on my brows. somehow i can't put the gel evenly. now, i have pretty good brows, so basically all i need is adding color to some little spot and a bit hair in the beginning of my brows. if i just brush my eyebrows with it, basically my brows will look the same. it doesn't give much hold either. but i tried to hold it toward my brow and basically smudge the gel a bit into the beginning of my brow and then brush it to make it look more real. then i can see some difference. anyway, you have to work quickly before it's set.

honestly, i have mixed feeling about this brow gel. i brought it on my recent vacation so i can test it better. although i seem to get the hang of application better, somehow i can't see the hype yet. it's okay to add color and brush my brow so it's a little bit neat and hold well. but compared to my body shop brow mascara, it doesn't hold my brow as strong as body shop one. but this one is cheap so i don't mind. and i think it's better to use something that is easy to apply and then add some more than try to lessen the super pigmented and super wet one. but, will i repurchase? i don't know. i'm more into brow pencil and powder and then brush it off with just spoolie. but perhaps if i want it to be long wearing and doesn't smudge all day, perhaps i will opt for a clear brow gel rather than the colored one.
