if you've read my other post, then you might knew that i was asking my sister to get me bad habit beauty after series eyeshadow palette, but she couldn't get it. so instead, she bought me the original ones from huda beauty! and i'm excited since this is my first high-end products in my collection. i've tried their warm brown palette, and it's good! so i'm hoping that this one is as good as the other one.
the description from sephora website: a range of compact eyeshadow palettes, expertly curated by Huda herself, offering beauty lovers a complete day-to-night eye color wardrobe. each huda beauty obsessions eyeshadow palette is packed with a selection of nine highly pigmented mattes and striking shimmers, all with a smooth and blendable texture. the palettes are super compact and lightweight, making them a must-have for your handbag. the large mirror, conveniently-sized palette, and versatile shade collection allow you to create both classic and playful looks that are easy to apply on-the-go.
mauve obsessions: six pigmented mattes and three gorgeous shimmers in dusty rose and plummy hues create a soft, natural finish for a smoky, sultry effect.
the packaging: just like the other palette, it comes in a transparent plastic sleeve so you have to slide the palette out from the sleeve. the palette itself is a black cardboard palette with pretty strong magnetic closure. the palette feels pretty sturdy and the size is truly suitable for travelling. i can assure you that it's strong enough to put inside your makeup bag, and the closure won't open. there's a bit of description and ingredients list at the back. when you open it, on top part there's a full size mirror that i truly appreciate since i don't have full size mirror in my bedroom, so i usually depend on my palette's mirror to do my eye makeup. inside you can see all 9 pans of eyeshadow, all placed side by side without any gaps, no shade name printed on it. so even though the whole palette is smaller than bad habit one, the size of each pans is bigger than bad habit ones. i do wish they have shade name though.. but it's just my preference.

the color selection: just like the name, all colors inside are plums, or mauve, or pink, or darker pink, with two exception, a white bone color and a cool medium brown. i really have no idea how to put a neutral look with this palette. i usually end up very pink or going plum.

the product: this one has different configuration than the warm brown. here you can have more than one shimmer. there are 3 shimmers here so you can have more option for your lid color. however, the problem for me is the transition shades. with two darker shade, one base color, i only left with dark brown or medium pink, so i end up using medium pink a lot for my crease color. which is not neutral option since it often directs me toward pink/plum look. but i guess that's what the palette is aiming for! it's even named mauve obsession.

the result: just like the warm brown, all the mattes are soft and can be blend easily. there's still a little bit of fallout so make sure you tap the excess before putting it on your lid. now, all of the shades are very pigmented, so you might want to use a little and start building up instead of the other way. as for the shimmers, these don't look like regular shimmer, so you can use your brush, but it's best used with your finger. all of them looks better, shines brighter when being used with finger.

again, i'm impressed with this palette as well just like the warm brown. i just wish it has more color selection, but i think that's the main idea of this obsessions palette. it's targeted toward one color scheme look so you don't have lots of option in one palette. obviously this is great for travelling and i think the color will look good on anyone. and again, if you want to try huda eyeshadow palette but you can't afford their big palette, then you should grab this smaller palettes because i've heard that both has the same quality. unlike natasha denona, which some love their smaller palette, but some don't. as for me, i still will look for neutral option to do use this palette everyday.. or at least not too pinky to use daily. but i do like this one too.
