since i have the body shop's membership, i get special discount on my birthday month. so i've been putting a short list of things to buy. one of them is hair mask. i've been running out of mine and since i dyed my hair again, i need to take good care of my hair before it got dry again like last time. so i've been asking people for recommendation. another mom from school said she liked the fuji green tea scrub shampoo. i read the description and i thought it would be similar to briogeo scalp one. but when i take a look at the description, it has SLS in the ingredients list. now, i'm not straight against it, but i'm trying to avoid it if i could. so, i didn't get that one. so when i was at store, i asked the BA about some recommendation, and she mentioned this new line, the shea butter one. apparently, this is a new line that's targeted dry hair that's also has undergone coloring, bleaching, perming, or straightening process. sounds suitable for me, so let's see about that.

the tub |
the packaging: it comes in dark brown tub with a big sticker of shea butter on the screw cap. there's label on the tub's body and it has slight description as well as ingredients list. if i remember correctly, it has plastic sealing around the cap but no box. it comes in giant size too. it is 240 ml while my usual loreal mask is about 200 ml. description on the label in Indonesian.

description on the label |
the scent: i don't know how shea butter should smell like, but it's not as fragrant as the body butter one. but it's still relaxing and fragrant scent, that's subtle and not overpowering at all. i like my shower products a bit scented, but if you don't, then you should skip it.

the shea picture on top |
the product: it's a ivory cream hair mask, very creamy and thick compared to my usual hair mask. but once i slather it on my hair, it doesn't feel thick at all. it kinds of melts. i only apply it from mid-length to the end of my hair because i'm afraid it might be too rich for my scalp.

the hair mask inside |
the result: i've used it for awhile now. the instruction said to use it and keep it on your hair for about 10-15 minutes. but i don't shower that long. so, i've used it several ways. i use it as replacement for my hair conditioner, and that way is not working. it's not nourishing enough as single treatment product. i can feel my hair is a bit dry after washing it off. then i've used it after my hair conditioner. it's working, but it's taking too much time. i have to wait before washing the hair conditioner and then wait again before washing the hair mask. so, i decided to try to mix my hair conditioner with the hair mask. and voila! it works just as well, but i only need shorter waiting time.

the mask on my hand |
at first i thought it's not nourishing enough. but now that i've found a good way to use it, i only need to use it once a week. and i think i'll repurchase it even though it's a bit more expensive than my previous hair mask. if you have dry and prone to hair damage, i definitely recommend you to try this one, especially if you're looking for cruelty free and vegan hair mask.
