skin aqua uv super moisture essence SPF 50+ PA++++

i did it again! i finished a sunscreen without writing proper review before tossing it! oh my bad. luckily i did take a few pictures before... i bought this one last time i was in japan. this is my last sunscreen from my last japan trip haul. i thought i saw someone from instagram loving about it, but i couldn't remember who. anyway, i was initially going to buy the gel one but i couldn't find it so i bought the essence instead. so let's see about this one.

this is the description from mentholatum singapore's website:  infused with 4 hydrating ingredient : super hyaluronic acid, nano hyaluronic acid, amino acid & collagen for long lasting hydration. watery light texture: spreads easily and absorbs quickly for an invisible, weightless feel. mild & gentle formula: suitable for normal, dry, or sensitive skin. free from fragrance, colorant, alcohol and mineral oil.
the packaging
the packaging: it comes with a cardboard piece that had plastic container attached to it to place the sunscreen. there's description both on the back of the cardboard piece and the bottle and everything is in japanese. the sunscreen itself comes in a white plastic tube with gold screw cap. it's an upside down squeeze tube, like usual sunscreen essence. this one is pretty big though, the essence comes in 80 ml while biore essence only comes in 50 ml.

back of the tube
the scent: it's described to be fragrance free and i have to say it's really scentless. if i can smell anything, probably it's the ingredients, not added fragrance.
the spout

the product: just as described, it's a white lightweight cream that has gel-like essence and turns into watery traces. definitely spread easily all over my face. after spread it around, it leaves watery traces that stays for a couple minutes before it's completely absorbed. it doesn't feel sticky afterward, but if you're very oily, it might feel a bit tacky.

the result: this is definitely a hydrating sunscreen. i'm using this on rainy season, so i have no problem with it messing up my makeup. even better, since i'm using matte foundation, somehow using this hydrating sunscreen underneath help my foundation applies better. it doesn't crack or anything. but that being said, when it's super hot, i do notice that my t-zone is shinier than usual. as for the protection, i believe it works since i don't get any sunburn or added sunspots.
after patted it in
i do like this one surprisingly. i thought it would be too greasy for me, but turns out it works just as well. but i would change something more matte finish when it's hotter in here. i don't think it will hold as long under hot weather. but if you have super dry or dry skin and looking for more hydrating sunscreen, then this is a good option. although it's not as affordable as biore one, this is still an affordable option. i will try the gel version before deciding which one i like better.
