real techniques miracle complexion sponge and travel sponge case

i haven't even written about my previous sponge and it's already torn. and now i bought the real techniques sponge. the reason is the case. i don't have separate place for my sponge, so it's been troublesome to keep the damp sponge clean. so the case is the reason why i bought the sponge. let's see how it goes.

this is the description from their website: flawless coverage wherever you go. our 3-in-1 multifunctional miracle complexion sponge paired with a travel sponge case helps you get a natural looking finish wherever you go. includes:
- miracle complexion sponge: rounded side blends larger areas of the face, precision tip covers imperfections, and the flat edge contours around the eyes and the nose. ideal for powders, creams and liquids. tip: use damp for a dewy glow or dry for full coverage application.
- travel sponge case: protect your miracle complexion sponge on-the-go. keep your sponge protected in your makeup bag or drawer. let sponge air dry thoroughly.
sponge is latex-free. replace the sponge every 1-3 months.
the packaging
description at the pack
the packaging: it comes in a sturdy plastic case. the case is separated at first but you can put them back together. it has RT printed on the case as a ventilation hole. the case also shaped like the sponge, so you can't put any other sponge inside. both the case and the sponge are orange in color. the case is obviously bigger than the sponge since the sponge might expand when being wet. real techniques color coded their product, so for the sponge it's orange since it's meant to be used on the face. you can see the orange label, orange case and orange sponge. if you have used real techniques, you might remember that orange is for face products, pink for cheek and purple for eyes.
dry sponge inside the case
damp sponge goes big
the product: the case is quite sturdy and even though the sponge is expanded when being wet, it can still fit inside the case. however, the hole on the case is not enough as ventilation hole. i often leave the case open so the sponge doesn't get too wet. the sponge is squeezy enough when being damp. when it's dry, it's quite hard so i never use it dry. when being damp, it's squeezy but slightly bit more firm than my previous ecotools sponge. i also think that it absorbs less product than ecotools one. shape wise, it's not that weird. it has one flat side at the bottom and the rest of it looks like the famous beauty blender, even the pointy tips. i always use the flat side to blend my foundation since it's a large so it's faster to blend foundation using the flat side. sometimes i use the pointy tip to blend concealer under eyes, but i rarely do it now because we're staying at home mostly. the sponge also holds its shape well when being washed. i don't feel like i can ruin it easily by scrubbing it to make it clean.

i've been using this for almost a year, so no wonder the bottom starts to wear out

i have to say that i like this sponge slightly better than my ecotools one. though both works well in blending my foundation, this one doesn't feel like i will ruin it while washing it. plus it has a case so i can bring it while travelling. price wise, it's still affordable as the ecotools one. i will certainly buy this one again if i ruined this one. but, there are other local brands sponge nowadays, so even though real techniques is quite famous as beauty blender dupe, you don't need to spend your money to get good sponge. i'll probably try one if i could next time, especially if it has a case like this one.
