the body shop drops of light pure resurfacing liquid peel

i was feeling depressed last week. this pandemic started to get into me. especially since i have three kids to take care of, with all the online school and stuff, i started to get annoyed easily. so i decided to get out of the house for awhile. i decided to get something for myself and i bought a peeling gel from body shop again. i was going to try the one from the vitamin c line, but it wasn't available, so i got the drops of light one.

this is the description from the website: this quick fix brightening essential will visibly brighten appearance after first use. transforming gel-to-peel technology that traps and gently peels off impurities and dead skin cells to unveil healthy-looking skin that feels resurfaced from first use. with continued use, skin looks more luminous and skin texture looks refined. with brightening red algae extract harvested from the north atlantic. rich in vitamin c, minerals and nutrients, red algae has grown in bracing oceans for millions of years. today we gently extract their potency for our healthy brightening drops of light range.

the bottle
the packaging: since i bought this straight from the store, it only comes in white plastic bottle with pump head. they have this drops of light and all products in this line come in white plastic bottle. they secure the pump head with unique stopper that's similar to the drops of youth one. there's description at the back of the bottle in indonesia and this one comes in 145 ml. compared to cure natural aqua gel, this one has less product.

the scent: this smells acid. quite strong at the beginning, but dissipates quickly. personally i prefer unscented one like cure, but since the scent doesn't linger, i think i'll get used to it quickly. however, this does contain parfum in the ingredients list, so if you're sensitive to fragrance, maybe you need to reconsider.

the product: it's a transparent gel. at first it looks cloudy white but on the picture, it looks pretty transparent. the instruction says to massage it quickly within 20 seconds. so far i have no problem with it, but i've read somewhere that if you waited too long, the peeling gel would be too sticky to massage and too hard to wash off. so far, i just spread it around roughly and massage it quickly. i think i manage to do it under 20 seconds, so no sticky feeling or anything and it's still easy to wash off.

the result: afterward, soft and fresh skin appears. i don't experience any sensitivity while using this peeling gel. however, i don't know how i can compare it to other peeling gel that i've tried. mainly because it's been quite some time since i used a peeling gel. i think it's slightly better than the drops of youth one. as for brightening, of course my face would look bright after using this as it sloughs off dead skin cells, but if i remembered correctly, the result is similar to cure. or maybe slightly less. but this one is clearly more brightening than the drops of youth one.

after: bright and soft skin
so far i have no problem with it. i will try to keep using it once a week to finish it quickly. i think they still have one more variation to try, so i'll try to get the other one after this before deciding which one i like best. if you're looking for a similar peeling gel to cure (now that we're not easy to travel or buy things online anymore), i think you might want to try this one as the result is similar. however, the price is quite expensive. for that amount, the price is really expensive, while the cure one comes in bigger size, so price per ml would be cheaper. luckily i have member, so i always buy things when it's on sale or on my birthday month so i can use the discount. on the positive side, body shop always offers bring back the bottle program, so if you're concern about the waste, then body shop is a good choice as you can always bring back the used bottle.
