we went to singapore couple months ago to vaccinate the kids. before that, i already got three things in my mind to get, my beauty diary masks, bb cushion and sunscreen. i didn't plan to buy anything else since the price there was not always cheaper. but then when i walked into watson, i saw naruko display. i didn't know that naruko is available in singapore. i was super excited. i wanted to get my hands on the FTE, but the price was too expensive. i didn't want to spend that much money on one product, even though many said that it works wonder. so i went back to my hotel room doing more research and i set my eyes on their essence. i was running low on my essence/serum stash anyway.
this is the description from their website: minimize pores for beautiful, glowing skin. clean pores: promotes cell regeneration and renewal, reduces sebum production, deep cleans and tightens pores. radiant skin: revives dull skin, slows down aging, and lights up your skin tone. plump up skin: gives skin a major moisture boost for dewy, plumped up, illuminated skin.
key ingredients: phytoferulin, raw job's tears extract, job's tears extract, dermal RX CKW, gluconolactone, evermat, vitamin b3, tranexamic acid, sodium ascorbyl phosphate, snow fungus extract, hyaluronic acid, grape leaf extract.
benefits: minimizes enlarged pores and smooths skin texture. balances skin's natural oils and reduces shine. prevents melanin and diminishes blemishes. renews skin cells and leaves skin with a luminous glow. boost skin's metabolism and brightens skin tone. protects skin surface and retains moisture. repairs skin and keep it healthy. relieves discomfort and revitalizes skin.
the packaging: it comes in a box, with description and ingredients list on it in english. the essence itself comes in a small red glass bottle, with a pump covered with cap. thankfully it's small so it doesn't weigh much, but still it's made of glass so it's still heavy. i don't like glass bottle, since i have toddlers, i hate thinking that they might break it someday, that's why i more gravitate toward plastic packaging.

the scent: i've been used to lots of scentless japanese products, so at first i can't pick any scent from this essence. but then i realize it does have subtle scent, but not floral. i think it has subtle herbal scent, probably due to all that extracts inside the essence. i'm not accustomed to this kind of scent, but it's very subtle so it's not annoying at all. even if you have sensitive nose, i think it won't bother you at all.

the product: the essence is clear, more on the runnier side. since it's quite runny, sometimes i wish that it comes in a dropper rather than pump because sometimes it gets squirt everywhere rather than on my palm. but since it's runny, it spreads easily on my face. it takes a few minutes to be completely absorbed though.

the result: it's definitely hydrating, perhaps due to hyaluronic acid in the ingredients. i also notice that this works super well in fading acne scars. although i can't say for sure that it's solely because of this essence. please note that during using this essence i also use another vitamin c serum, so it might interfere with the result. as far as for my pores, nothing seems changed though.

honestly, i do like this essence. it's lightweight and hydrating and help fading my acne scars faster. it works well under my other skincare products. but i don't like the packaging. sometimes i wish everything is packaged in a plastic rather than glass. price wise, i can't say for sure, perhaps the price is more expensive in singapore, but it is still a reasonable price for a 30 ml essence. although personally, i like something cheaper than this, but it's still okay if it works. now i think it will work well for every skin types, but it might not be enough for dry skin. now, i've mentioned in another post that i will compare this with the low-price daiso serum, so stay tune.
