honestly, i didn't think that i'd find a sunscreen recommendation from youtube. no offense, but i rarely saw beauty reviewer in youtube dedicated their time to promote regular sunscreen use. but anyway, i saw arna alayne (sadly she shut down her youtube channel) recommended this sunscreen, so naturally i was curious since i've seen this sunscreen several times, but in my mind, canmake is a makeup brand, so i didn't know that this base makeup is sunscreen. anyway, last time i went to japan, i bought one so let's see how it goes.
this is the description from their website: splash! feel as fresh as a mermaid princess. powerful, yet delectably moist. SPF 50+/PA++++. smooth gel without that roughness or stickiness characteristic of most sunscreens. recommended for those who prefer a light, refreshing sunscreen. splash it on like a facial lotion - also serves as a makeup base. gel breaks down into a watery texture as you smooth it over your skin. after using face wash, this is all you need for complete skincare and UV protection. can also be used after your usual facial lotion and other skincare products. serves as a moisturizing makeup base with UV protection. infuses your skin with moisture, helping your foundation to sit better and last longer. use it on your body, as well as your face. skincare gel with 85% beautifying ingredients. easily portable tube format. sunscreen is most effective when reapplied frequently. comes in an easily portable tube that makes it simple to adjust the amount you apply, so it's perfect for reapplying sunscreen when you're out and about.
3 colors: clear, white, green.
the packaging |
the packaging: it comes in a transparent plastic box with description on it in japanese and probably ingredients list. the tube is silver/grey plastic tube with white screw cap. the color of the label is the one that differentiate between the clear, white and green one. for the clear one, the label is pink. while the white one the label is white, while the green one is the most different one. the bottle is light green as well as the label. but you can also see the number. sadly, this only comes in 40g.
all description on the box |
the color: as i've said, there are 3 colors, clear, white and green. mine is the clear one, which is number 01. so look at the number at the back as well. the white one is supposed to be toned up one, while the green one is to reduce redness.
the tube |
the product: it's a white cream one and quite thick compared to the other sunscreen that i've used before this. even though they say that it's a sunscreen gel, somehow it doesn't feel like one. luckily, it spreads around easily. at first, it leaves white cast but it goes away after awhile.
how it looks like on my hand |
the result: i have to say that i'm impressed. it doesn't leave white cast (at least on me. but i have light to fair skin, so if you have darker skin, you might want to check first before buying it). it dries down matte without any funky sparkling tiny glitter whatsoever. as for protection, it works okay since i don't experience sunburn or anything. anyway, it's a bit moisturizing as well but with the right moisturizer, it works okay even under makeup.
after blending it |
i'm quite surprise that makeup brand can release a good sunscreen. but then again, it's a japanese brand. so far, only one or two japanese sunscreen that failed me, so it's no wonder then. anyway, the price is really affordable in japan. i wish it's the same case abroad. too bad the price sometimes doubled abroad. i'd like to repurchase it if i ever go back to japan. for now, i'll resort to local sunscreen after i finish my stash.
