lululun plus aroma care oil mask sheet - clary sage

last time i was in japan, i decided to get all the lululun plus mask that i haven't tried. i wouldn't buy all the variants in single boxes (which means i will have 5 masks for each variation), so i luckily i found a set that contains all 10 from lululun plus mask. i've tried the rose one and it's pretty fragrant, so i became hesitant to try other version. but i have to use it before it goes bad, so i tried the clary sage next. i have no idea what clary sage is.

this is the description from their US website: for spiritual clarity - blend of clary sage essential oils from france. a mask for when pampering and clarity of mind is in order after a long and stressful day. the spicy aroma of clary sage has sweet and warm overtones that smooth over emotional rough edges for unparalleled relaxation. additional beauty components help prevent rough skin, to have you glowing both inside and out.
the fragrance of spicy clary sage wraps the heart and mind with a soft sweetness and warmth. this makes clary sage a fitting fragrance for times when you are overworked or stressed. this mask is also formulated with abundant beautiful skin ingredients to prevent rough and dry skin for a bright, clean and radiant you!
melissa (lemon balm) grows naturally along the mediterranean coast and has long been part of people's lives and health for its use in cooking, tea, alcohol and health food. melissa leaf provides a gentle boost of moisturizing firmness for a renewed, youthful appearance.
elderflower, also called "countryside secret", is familiar herb to the people of Europe. elderflower extract, which is also used for cuisine and sweets, contains abundant sugars, tannins, flavonoids, sitosterol, and other nutritious components, gently nourishes and moisturizes for a soft and smooth complexion.

the packaging: just like the other variants, it's color coordinated according to its type, for the clary sage it's pink. and it has the main ingredients pictured at front. description at the back in japanese. if you bought the whole box, the box will have the exact same design as the individual packaging.

the scent: i have said that i have no idea what clary sage is, and i don't know what it should smell like. but it smell like a mix of herbal tea and floral scent. a weird scent, if you're asking me. more like you're drinking a tea rather than using a mask, but it's very subtle and somewhat relaxing in a weird way.

the product: the mask is the same as the other variants from this line. it's a soft thick cotton, not stretchy. the fit is not the best, but it's okay for me. it has weird inner eye slit, wider on temple side and long nose flap. but it's longer on under chin area. not covering my jaws though.
left: before
middle: mask on
right: after
the result: i put it on for about 30 minutes and it still feels a bit wet when i remove it from my face. it's hydrating and a bit brightening. a bit tacky afterward, but it doesn't pill under my other skincare. it does layer well.

so, this is quite a surprising one. i thought it would have weird and strong scent that i will have, but turns out it is okay. something that i haven't experienced, but i don't think i would buy the whole box. one is enough for me. again, this is japan mask, which is not super drench and thin like taiwanese masks, so it might fall short if you've been accustomed to taiwanese masks. this will feel like ordinary sheet mask. and don't think you'll like it if you're avoiding fragrance in your skincare. i think it will suit all skin types though if you decided to get it.
