  • About me
okay. though i still have my revlon new complexion TWC refill, but i felt bored. i wanted to try something new. i had a huge nyx shopping list, but until my lipstick were used at least half of the tubes, i couldn't buy anything. plus the dollar's rising right now, so the price was higher than before. *sigh* so, in order to lift up my spirit, i decided to try the max factor foundation earlier than it was supposed to be.

what it said: facefinity all day flawless 3 in 1 foundation holds like a primer, corrects like a concealer with the long lasting finish of a liquid foundation with SPF 20. Lasts all day, giving a flawless finish, primer gives a smooth base for hold, concealer corrects for a flawless look.

i had tried several foundations before, and i always had trouble finding the shade suitable for my skin, since i was pretty fair skinned here in indonesia. there was once when i tried to buy foundation in singapore, they even put their hands up. my skin was too fair, and the only product matched to me was their 3 in 1 compact foundation. *Sigh* so, back to foundation, i was looking for one that suit my skin tone perfectly, could cover my blemish scar and redness but still looking natural, matte finish that last all day (i didn't like touch up..). so far i couldn't find a product that could met all that criteria.

max factor facefinity all day flawless 3 in 1 foundation was a liquid foundation, came in a glass bottle with plastic cap and a pump. (yey! finally a pump!). and now the BA was there so i could ask a lot of question. i came there with my bare face, and then the BA offered to try it on my face. i was worried that it might not suit my skintone, but she said that 35 pearl beige was a perfect match. and she was right, it blended perfectly into my skin. after trying it on my jawline, she asked to try it to all my face, and i agreed. and i could see that it was flawless. it could cover my dark eyes, though i still need a little concealer, but it was okay. it could cover the redness and blemish scar on my face. i was pretty satisfy so i gave it a go. and i have tried it for two days.. and i loved it.

the color: it was suitable for my skin tone. i read that not all the countries got the same shade. like mine, 35 pearl beige didn't available in germany. and in uk there were shade like natural and bronze. so i guess i was lucky they decided to give 35 pearl beige to asian countries.

the coverage: it was medium, but i guess you could get full coverage depended on how much product you put on your skin. but amazingly, it was still looked natural. it didn't look heavy at all. like my skin was flawless naturally. my redness was gone. so far, i used my foundation brush, and i had no problem using it. i still need a bit concealer for my dark circles, but it was less than what i need before.

the finish: it was matte, but it didn't look dry or cakey, even though i put some powder on my t-zone. i liked it. i didn't like dewy finish that sometimes made my skin looked oily.

the staying power: yesterday i used it on a hot day without air conditioner, and my t-zone was oily after 4-5 hours. today, my t-zone still looked okay after 4-5 hours (now in air con places). but on day 1, i used my revlon powder, and on day 2 i used the setting powder from my laura mercier undercover pot. tomorrow i'll try with no powder.

until then, right now i'm so happy with this one *happy*
glass bottle with plastic cap and pump!

Left: just a little will do
middle: after blending, you can't see the difference
right: with flash, you could see a little reflection because it contains SPF 20
yak2.. sekarang pengen bahas soal rambut. terus terang, kalo soal rambut, aku paling males ngurusin, karena yaaaa.. bertahun2 diurusin kok ga bagus2.. (hahaa, pdhl ya emang ga diurus, hehehe). rambutku sejak dari kelas 6 SD tiba2 berombak, mengembang dan kering, tapi kulit kepalanya berminyak. kadang kalo parah sampe ketombean. ganti shampoo berulang2 jg ga membantu. so, aku udah separo desperate. kalo dulu mama pny langganan mantan hairdressernya david salon yg buka salon sendiri, jd dulu aku sering potong dg hairdresser tp harga bersahabat. sayangnya, rambutku cuma bagus kalo abis keluar salon. setelah itu, balik acak adut ga karuan lagi.

soooo.. aku akhirnya males ke hairdresser. potong di salon biasa aja, toh hasilnya sama aja. lalu datanglah masa smoothing. adikku rambutnya lebih ngeriwul dari aku, dan berhubung dia mau dismoothing, aku diseret buat nemeni. and then come my silky hair era.. my long smooth hair... rambutku lurus, halus, tp sekaligus kempes banget. dan kalo rambut aslinya tumbuh, yg dekat akar rambut melengkung aneh. trus karena rambut adikku yang lebih keriwul tadi itu, kalo tumbuh jadi lebih keliatan aneh lagi. jadi pas rambut kita udah tumbuh sampe deket telinga, kita berangkat smoothing lagi. nah, smoothing kedua-ketiga membawa pengaruh buruk buat ujung rambut. beberapa ngekrus2 gitu.. jd malah jelek, ga lurus ampe ujung rambut. karena adekku berada di singapura dan jarang pulang, maka makin jaranglah aku smoothing dan akhirnya nggak sama sekali. akhirnya potong rambut seperti biasa. pokoknya dirapiin aja.

urusan panjang rambut, dulu waktu kecil aku yang selalu berambut pendek, adikku yg berambut panjang. waktu SMP, rambutku takpanjangin, orang2 jadi protes karena aku ama adikku mirip lagi. pas SMA dipotong pendek lagi krn pny kenalan hairdresser, jd doyan potong rutin. pas kuliah bosen, jadi dipanjangin lagi sampe masa smoothing2 itu. dan aku bertahan agak lama karena pas itu mau merit juga. diancem2 ama mama ga boleh potong soalnya daripada dikasih sanggul palsu pas merit, lebih baik pake rambut sendiri. jadi sampe H+1 merit aku masih berambut panjang. dan H+2, aku tiba2 tertarik masuk salon dan membabat habis rambutku jd potongan bob! hahaha..

and then i had my son, i was busy at school, so i just took care of my hair necessarily. lalu beberapa waktu lalu dgr soal salon ini di radio, dan kebetulan deket rumah. browsing2, ternyata harganya ga mahal2 amat. then i tried it. i called them, and surprisingly, aku dapet appointment pagi dg mudahnya. ternyata hairdressernya ga dateng sepagi itu, and on that day, she had another agenda so she was quite busy at that time. but she was someting. she asked a lot about my hair texture and condition, my hobby (swimming.. ternyata cukup merusak kondisi rambut, apalagi yg dirawat asal2an kayak rambutku), and my daily styling (dibiarin aja. so i was classified as low maintenance). and i told her that i planned to keep my hair long (udah bosen rambut pendek, jadi mau dipanjangin lagi). she was pretty thorough, and then she announced my hair diagnosis. she told me that since i wanted to grow my hair, she didn't want to cut a lot, just to make it neat. and then she suggested me smoothing my hair again, but only the middle part. dia ga mau buat bagian akarnya terlalu kempes dan bagian bawahnya terlalu lurus, karena skrg trendnya agak wavy, like those korean stars. she told me her reason, and amazingly, i understood her reasoning. i could make sense out of it, so i decided to give it a go.

and luckily, my husband like it. skrg rambutku tetep bagus, dan ga perlu ditata aneh2 tiap hari, karena emg udah bagus, tinggal disisir aja. and now come the part about taking care of it. she told my that i needed hair mask and scalp treatment. but given my financial condition plus my school tasks, i couldn't spend leisure time just to go to salon. i prefer playing with my son rather than waiting to get my hair done at the salon. But i did buy hair mask on my own.

For you who live in surabaya, especially surabaya barat, this salon is recommended. Check their website: www.glam-hairculture.com.
